Why Is Animal Testing Cruel And Inhumane

Animals have been used as test subjects for discovering the functions of living organisms for centuries. According to ancient Greek writing, physician-scientists such as Aristotle and Herophilus performed such experiments on animals. Animals such as mice, cats, and dogs, were thought as they lacked intelligence, so the notions of justice did not apply to them. Aristotle demonstrated that arteries contained blood instead of air by dissecting animals without pity or compassion. Animal testing is cruel and inhumane, therefore animal testing needs to stop.
