Recommended: Ethical and moral implications of the fetus
Premises 3: The sense of touch begins to develop around eight weeks gestation and by twenty-week gestation unborn babies are fully capable of experiencing pain. (Minnesota Citizens Concerned for life.2014- 2015).
Premises 4: Week twenty, the fetus has the appearance of a miniature baby with fingers, toes, and ears.
Conclusion: Therefore, abortion is morally wrong because it destroys an innocent life that that is a human being baby with a beating heart and is fully capable of sensing things, such as pain, unless the life of the mother is in danger.
This argument is inductive because is an argument that the premises provide reasons that support the possible truth of the conclusion. The fact that it is a strong logical and supportive argument
All the fetus’ nutrients and oxygen come from the mother’s blood. During the fourth month of development, bone replaces the fetus’s cartilage and may begin to hear sound. The remaining part of this section showed the developmental process in each stage of development.
The first days and weeks after conception are critical for fetus body formation. The most extensive transformation of life occurs before birth. The fetal period goes through major changes. During the third month male or female sexual organs begin to develop and is visible through ultrasound. During months 4-6, the baby’s heartbeat becomes stronger. The digestive and excretory systems begin to develop. Body parts such as the fingernails, toenails, and buds of teeth begin to form and hair grows. Brain development occurs in every prenatal month, but the first three months are crucial. The central nervous system becomes responsive during middle of the women 's pregnancy, and begins to regulate body functions such as breathing and sucking.
At about 16 weeks, the fetus is approximately 4.5 inches long and bigger than a bean and more like the size of a grapefruit. Toes and fingers are fully formed and fingerprints form on the tips of the fingers. By the time the fetus reaches the sixth month of forming, it weighs up to 1.4 pounds. Hearing has developed, so the fetus can respond to sounds, which basically mean a lot of movement in the belly of the mother. The organs, such as the lungs, heart, stomach, and intestines, have formed enough that a fetus born premature has a chance to survive outside of the mother’s womb and can form on its own . Throughout the fetal stage the brain continues to grow, nearly doubling in mass from weeks 16 to 28. Around 36 weeks, the fetus is almost ready to be born. It weighs about 6 pounds and is about 18.5 inches long and it is the size of a stack of bananas, by week 37 all of the fetus’s organ systems are formed enough that it could survive outside the mother’s uterus without many of the risks of premature birth. The fetus continues to gain weight and grow in 40 weeks. By then, the fetus has little room to move around and birth becomes
Abortion, in my opinion, is wrong, but, as it is obvious, it is not wrong in to other people. To make this fair, I have gotten a few people to make a statement about whether they were pro-life, or pro-choice and why.
Abortion is wrong. It is wrong because when someone decides to have an abortion they are taking a life. A fetus is a person. It is a separate entity from its mother; therefore, that unborn child’s only future is to be born not aborted.
For years many different people from many different walks of life have had different opinions about abortion. For some abortion is never wrong, for others under certain circumstances it is O.K., and for still some others it is never right. Abortion is wrong not only because it goes against what God has said, but also because most women are so rushed into and unsure about their decision they regret it later in life.
This is the embryonic period, which occurs three weeks after conception and lasts until the eighth week. During the fourth week, the shape of the head begins to form, along with the formation of the eyes, mouth, nose, and mouth. Through the fifth and eighth week the lower body develops, as the legs and arms appear. After the embryonic stage, the fetal stage begins, which is during the ninth week through birth, where the fetus has a physical appearance distinctive to human features compared to when it was an embryo. At birth, one of the earliest signs of motor development is its first reflexes as a newborn coming out the mother’s womb. Newborns reflexes are not learned, rather they are born with these reflexes and act instinctively to protect itself in its first few months of life. At this point both the physical and motor development is starting to develop naturally at the same
The baby has graduated from a mass of indistinguishable calls, to an embryo, to a fetus. The fetus undergoes the most growth in this stage. Sex hormones will affect the brain and the fetus begins developing sex organs depending on their twenty-third chromosome. The sex organs are visible toward the end of month three. After five months the integumentary system is fully developed. The fetus is developing his/her hair, skin and nails, and even the underlying sweat glands and complex connective tissues. In month six the fetus can open and the close eyelids.
This stage begins around the second week and lasts until eight weeks after conception. As the cells divide and start to develop their own functions a process known as gastrulation takes place. Three germ layers form because of this process and they are known as the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. The ectoderm, which is the outer layer is responsible for forming the nervous system, skin, hair, nails, teeth, nose, mouth, anus, and other tissues. The mesoderm, which is the middle layer is responsible for forming the skeleton, muscles, circulatory and excretory systems. Finally the endoderm, the inner layer, is responsible for developing the lungs, pancreas, liver, and digestive tract. At around the third week major organs such as the brain, heart, and spinal cord are forming. Week four, five, and six other body parts start to form. Specifically around week four is when the baby’s heart will start to beat. Week six and seven things such as hair follicles and eyelids are forming. In these two weeks continual development of the brain and heart occur. Around week eight, facial features are becoming noticeable and most internal organs are well developed. Sex organs also start to form around week
In my argumentative coursework I am arguing that abortion is wrong and not to be mistaken with 'Abortion should be made illegal.' I will explain later why I have made this statement. Abortion is the termination of an unborn child in its mother's womb for up to twenty four weeks of the pregnancy or in special circumstances e.g. Disability diagnosis a termination right up until the mother goes in to labour. I think the above definition is an easier and less harsh way of saying that abortion is the murdering of a human being. There are several reasons why abortion is legal and several reasons why it shouldn?t be.
They only way a fetus can survive are in the mother’s womb within the first two trimesters. Without the expenses of another human the fetus would ...
Inductive reasoning is logical reasoning where people have a lot of the information and use that to reach a conclusion. It is viewing the available data and figuring out what will be the results. For instance, from an online article, it demonstrates, “Inductive reasoning is a logical process in which multiple premises, all believed true or found true most of the time, are combined to obtain a specific conclusion” (Rouse, 2013). It shows that there are a lot of ideas to analyze and calculate what the possible outcomes will be. It can also be done by looking at patterns. When looking at patterns, it is important to study it to see what is recurring. This makes it possible to predict what will happen based on the knowledge that has been collected. Inductive reasoning is using information or events that have happened in the past to see what is in store for the future.
In Aristotle point of view abortion would be considered morality wrong because he believes everyone has a person and we were designed for a purpose. Virtue of Ethics “can evaluate the morality of behavior by examining the moral character that such behavior produces” (Velasquez 488). According to Smith abortion is wrong because it promotes a moral character ‘characterized by careless, irresponsibility, dishonesty, and lack of principles” (Velasquez 488). This theory emphasizes that everyone should take responsibility for their actions and that our choices defined our character. I tend to agree with this we are all responsible for our actions and those actions tend to have consequences that tend to affect us personality. This view reminds me of the view of adultery cover in this chapter someone who commits adultery also says a lot about their character because it shows that we cannot trust on this person because they just can keep their word or because they are your seeking pleasure without really considering the consequences and who they can affect.
Abortion by definition means the way of ending pregnancy by removing fetus from the womb before it is able to survive independently. Abortion is an extremely debatable issue because while some people are completely against it, others believe that a woman should have the right to choose. Abortion decision is like killing own child or killing an innocent human life before coming out from uterus. I will explain how a human life is being destroyed, the process in which they destroy the fetus, and how to avoid this situation all together I believe that abortion is morally impermissible.
First, I feel that abortion should be illegal because it can result in medical complications and also psychological trauma. It can cause premature birth and could also cause a baby to be handicapped in future pregnancies. A woman who has had an abortion is 2.3 times more likely to get cervical, ovarian, and or liver cancer. Abortion is the cause of 47,000 woman’s death yearly. It can cause depression for at
