My current academic and extra-curricular activities have had an influencing effect on my lifetime goals. They have helped me decide to focus my efforts on attaining a finance degree with the ultimate goal of reaching a senior position in business management. The career of business management has certain pressures, challenges, and rewards that I find intriguing. It is the job of a business manager to motivate their squad to ensure progress is made, manage all the problems that arise from different road blocks, and to help their team deliver the plan that was promised. Along with the characteristics of leadership, perseverance and responsibility, to succeed as a manager one must also possess a good understanding of the financial drivers of the business. I believe a finance degree is my best path forward to help me succeed in business management and I plan to continue to target my future academic and extra-curricular activities to help me achieve this goal.

To be a successful student athlete, I have to be organized and dedicated to working hard to not only improve my athletic skills every day, but also ensure I take care of my school work. Being successful on the field of play takes teamwork and trust in my fellow players. As a varsity starter in baseball, I have a leadership role to fulfill. I have to set an example for my younger teammates so that they can be inspired to work harder and pursue greatness. It takes me giving one-hundred percent to achieve a successful outcome. I also realized that it was good to expand my interests outside of sports. Both the Art club and Spanish club have given me additional opportunities to lead younger classmates as a senior, and have exposed me to different experiences that have broadened my perspective on
Clubs were a great way for me to expand my interests outside of athletics. I was involved in Key Club and FCA freshman year and I enjoyed meeting new people and making a difference in our community. I was inducted a member of NHS junior year and this was a great way to make service a priority.
Both on an off the field, my enthusiasm and motivation to obtain a goal is a trait that I am very proud of. I have faced many tasks where a leader had needed to step up and I am always willing to do so. I am also willing to get help when I need it. If I can’t complete a task by myself I do not mind asking a classmate, teammate, friend or a teacher for guidance. By bringing that openness and leadership to University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program I believe that I can also attribute to the University of Charleston’s Mission Statement “to educate each student for a life of productive work, enlightened living, and community involvement.” By bettering the Athletic Training community by providing care to our Athletes I believe that I will be a great addition to the Athletic Training
Over this course of this semester, I have learned a tremendous amount of information about myself from the self-exploration series. The results of my PGI (Personal Globe Inventory) presented me with a couple of different career paths to explore. The first type of career that was brought up to my attention was an enterprising career. There were a number of enterprising careers, but the one that interested me the most was business management. I decided to choose the business management because I am majoring in Sustainability and my focus is in Economics. I think business management would be an excellent fit for myself because I have actually done some research prior to this class about management. I would like to someday own an ice rink, and I think that becoming a manager would be a great stepping-stone towards reaching my goal. The requirements for becoming a business manager vary from university to university, but the overall direction of the major revo...
I identify myself as a hard worker that seeks to succeed in everything that I attempt, with my most enduring quality being my perseverance. From the time I was a young child until the day that I die, I believe that everything that you do, including: sports, academics, personal relationships, and anything else that you plan to attempt, should be carried out with 110% of your ability. As future hall of fame shortstop and Yankee legend Derek Jeter once spoke, “there may be people who have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do”. This quote states that others may be more successful at certain undertakings, but that doesn’t excuse them from working harder. If you want success then you have got to put your heart and soul into making it come true. In other words, you need to go hard or go home.
Each game, my passion grew. Each team, new memories and lifelong friends were made. Sports sometimes make me feel disappointment and at loss; but it taught me to be resilient to a lot of things, like how to thrive under pressure and come out on top. Being the team captain of my high school’s football and lacrosse team showed me how having a big responsibility to bring a group together to work as one is compared to many situations in life. Currently playing varsity football, varsity lacrosse, and track I take great pride in the activities I do. Staying on top of my academics, being duel enrolled at Indian River State College, working three nights a week, and two different sport practices after school each day shaped my character to having a hard work
My personality and personal experiences have helped me to decide upon accounting as my chosen major. Before I immigrated to the United States in 2010, I had a small business in China for more than nine years. This experience and my desire to be an entrepreneur taught me the importance of accounting. In order to manage my business well, I attended a course in basic accounting at a local training institute. While in training, I learned that I loved working with numbers and applying financial analysis to economic issues. I have a passion for finance, economic issues, accounting principles, and the world of business and this has guided me to pursue an accounting major.
Over the four years that I have spent at Good Counsel, I became part of many activities. Each helping me evolve as a person and become stronger yet. Simple lists could be made of every activity that I have ever been involved in but it could never express to a person what I have learned and how it helped me to grow. Every environmental club, science club, political science club, service work, and S.A.D.D. club I was part of had a very special message to deliver to me. Whether the message was one of responsibility, or a life lesson, I grew from it. The Political Science club opened me to many new experiences. It allowed me the chance to attend the Model U.N., where I was asked to address today's top world issues. This club was very beneficial to me because I was exposed to topics and ideas that I had not previously been able to discuss or learn about in a classroom situation. The science club allowed for me to experience extra educational situations as well. I took part in a hovercraft competition, which was very educational while also allowing me the chance to work with others for a common goal.
Athletics has made a difference in my life through its redefining of the word “success.” Before I got involved with track and cross country, success was measured by goals I set and achieved for myself that made me happy. Since then, I have realized that success is much more gratifying when it is dependent on making those around me proud. In track, success is when I have trained hard enough so that I am able to help my relay team win a race or break the school record. In cross country, success is when I have built up enough endurance to contribute to the team score and help my team move on to the state meet. This mentality has translated to my daily life, as I am constantly working hard to please those around me. At school, I always do my homework and get good grades so that my teachers do not have to focus extra energy on getting me to do my work. At work, I strive to go above and beyond my typical duties so that I can lessen the responsibilities of my co-workers. At home, I help out with chores without being asked so that my parents can have one less thing
Baseball in high school taught me how to have a work ethic. Having grown up in a small working class Wisconsin town, having a work ethic is something that was instilled in you at a young age. I began implementing my hard work ethic both in baseball and in my academics right away. I spent countless hours before and after school in the gym, classroom or on the field. From this, I found success both in academics and in baseball. During my time in high school, success in
My long term career goal is to found my own financial company that specializes in applying advanced analytics tools to solve complex financial problems. Having worked as a financial analytics analyst for more than 6 months at Enova Financial, a Chicago-based consumer online financing company, my passion towards financial analytics is reinforced. Ranging from basic data query and reporting to predictive modeling and optimization, data analytics has assumed a more important role in today’s financial services industry. Mastering data analytics could help financial institutions acquire the relevant information in the shortest amount of time and make the informed decisions thereafter. Since personal loan industry is only the niche of financial services, I would like to broaden my horizon of the financial knowledge by gaining a deeper understanding of its principle and its application in order to achieve my loan term goal. Entering a full-time master in finance program, as such, becomes the best option for me.
Msc Finance of the Imperial College Business School is a good course to skyrocket my career in the finance industry. It would provide me the best path in achieving my career goal. Unlike any other Msc Fi...
Financial Advisor The program of study that I would like to study is to be a financial advisor. Related programs of study may be an accounting jobs, or any job that is related to working with money.
