My main science and math academic goals at the moment is to explore and expand my love for the science and math. Throughout my childhood, I have always been interested in the science and math fields of academic study due to their invigorating nature. As a sophomore and freshman, I realized I had a passion specifically for the biological sciences since life and its processes are so complex and intricate. I never grow tired of learning the complexities and inner workings of all forms of life from substantial creatures such as humans to microscopic animals such as ants. Also in high school, I realized that I reveled in performing activities in the laboratory. I loved the idea of a challenge being proposed that I had to solve with only my own knowledge. …show more content…
If chosen, I will be able to complete a research project which will allow me to employ my knowledge rather than simply learning the fact. I would use this summer experience as an opportunity to further my love for biological sciences. I would use the research opportunity to learn to balance collaborative and individual work and jumpstart my career as a researcher. I feel as if doing research in a lab will teach me valuable critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Through the active learning of research, I will attempt to develop the intellectual skills of critical analysis and valuable transferable skills such as group work, data handling, and time management. All of these skills would be valuable in my desired job of a biological technician since they use laboratory skills and techniques learned in labs and
When my first grade teacher asked me what I wanted to be in the future I told her, “I want to be a doctor.” My answer stayed exactly the same when my eleventh grade English teacher asked the question. Ever since I was little science has always captured my interest. I was fascinated by the way our body worked and how everything had an explanation behind it.
My plan for after high school is to major in a science related to the medical field, most likely something that relates neuroscience with genetic studies, like neurobiology. I also hope to take the pre-medical classes required for me to enroll in medical school, which is my current goal for after undergraduate college.
My short-term goals will be completed throughout High School. I am taking a lot of Mathematical classes in High School, this year I am taking Statistics and Business Math. Next year I will either take Calculus or Precalculus. I like taking math courses because there is a lot of math in anyone's life time. Also my career choices require a lot of math, most classes they like to see I have already taken. I plan to get high grades in all of my classes so Colleges will take me seriously. One of my favorite classes is Statistics and I have a decent grade in it too. My activities at school include being in the Woodshop Club. It is very enjoyable for me and I hope to do more in woodworking as I grow older as a hobby. Activities outside of school include mainly Boy Scouts and work. I plan to get my Eagle Scout rank and I might go on to get Eagle Palms. I work as a Concrete laborer and I also do some finishing, it is a very
For my academic goal, on the other hand, I am going to graduate high school and continue on to college. During high school, my plan is to take as many advanced classes as possible. I am going to
I hope this summer program will help me get a better feel for what research outside of the classroom is like. I wish to do research in college and in the future, so I hope that this summer program will give me experience for my future research endeavors. Being able to learn new things that stretch my mind is my passion, and being able to do research at this summer program would really help me grow as a person. Please give me this chance experience a wonderful and educational summer.
In the future, I wish to obtain an occupation in the medical field. I would like to start out by working for a Biology major and working in a premedical field in college where I can use my interest in medicine and my curiosity for knowledge to gain insight that would be needed to become a helpful doctor in the medical field. As I move along in my career, I would like to work my way through the pathway so that I can expand my skills in healing others, such as diagnostic abilities, effectively giving treatment and so on. I want to learn as much as possible so I can fulfill my ultimate dream of helping others that need answers to their medical problems and so that more people can live happily and healthily in the world. I hope to bring happiness to others and allowing people to live comfortably.
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
Whenever asked what my favourite subject is, Biology has been, and will always be, my only answer. It was bewildering to compare my body to a machine working harmoniously. The digestive system, the respiratory system and the circulatory system are coordinating with each other right underneath my skin. Realising that the 'blue lines' visible beneath the flesh of my hands are actually veins carrying deoxygenated blood fueled my desire to know more about how my body functions. To me, it has always been about getting to know my self better.
I also want to major in Mathematics because all my academic life I have academically stable in the subject. I would love to research in more of the medical field and see what I am capable of. I would use my majors to achieve the kind of career goals I have for myself, getting a well-paying job in something I'm very good at and enjoy. Also, I would use my education to help those who are struggling to understand or want to learn something. Having a great education and mind power, gives great power.

Zoology requires a bunch of responsibility like the majority of jobs, but I don't mind that because it will be a job that I will love.
I am Fasiha Abdul Rehman, holding a professional degree of Doctor of Pharmacy at 23 years of age; with a deeper interest in contributing to the understanding of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and unveiling new information for medical advancement and betterment of mankind and I envisage Masters as crucial step in this direction.
...my education at Concord University studying Elementary Education. After graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Education, I plan to get a job as a teacher in an elementary school. I believe that there is a need for compassionate and caring teachers in elementary schools. At such a young age, I believe that it is important for elementary students to have positive role models in their lives. I am very interested in pursuing my Masters Degree at some point, but my main goal is to get out into the school system as a teacher.
In order to pursue my dream, I have to first know different fields of medical sciences as well as the specific path I want to take for medicines in the future. For that reason, I will like to choose Medical Science as one of my Majors. Furthermore, from my biology class this year, I was deeply captivated by the functions of organisms and the transformation of genes. I believe that, by applying for Genetics taught by the professionals, I will be able to further my insight on DNA. Lastly, in the hope of better understanding the dynamics of human emotions, behaviors, and mental disorders, I will like to study Psychology.
Furthermore, I am also very interested in spending time over the summer conducting scientific research because it will allow for me to learn about specific subjects that I am very interested in. I will learn concepts that I will not normally learn in a classroom setting. Personally, I am interested in conducting research in either physics or biomedical engineering. For physics, I am most interested in astrophysics/cosmology as well as theoretical physics (String Theory). For biomedical engineering, I am interested in studying just about any human body system.
While completing my undergraduate class work, I was under the illusion I could graduate with my degree in biology and find a biology teaching position my first year teaching. This did not become a reality for me simply because a large amount of other qualified biology education majors had the exact same plan. Teaching 7th and 8th grade science was not my first choice for a teaching position until I started teaching at Dixon Middle School. After teaching for three years at Dixon Middle School I found I have a passion for teaching middle school students. One of the reasons I enjoy teaching middle school students is for most of the students I teach, my class is their first experience in a science classroom.
