I am well aware of the opportunities that lie ahead of me if I succeed in my academics. For instance, I took challenging classes to prepare me for college, and I took AP classes for college credit and to save money. Also, neither of my parents went to college and have settled for minimum paying jobs, and after experiencing what it’s like to work for the minimum wage, I definitely want to pursue a college degree. On a personal note, I do my best in school to as a way to thank my parents for everything they have given me and because I genuinely care about my future. My plan for after high school is to major in a science related to the medical field, most likely something that relates neuroscience with genetic studies, like neurobiology. I also hope to take the pre-medical classes required for me to enroll in medical school, which is my current goal for after undergraduate college.
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
Being the first one to attend college in my family has pushed me to continue my education. Now in today’s society a college degree is so important. I want my parents to be proud of me, and be happy with my high level career after college, and that starts with my education. I also hope to be an influence on my younger brother and show him that a college education is important. He looks up to me, and I need to be a good role model for him. I truly just want to get the best education and job for myself worth and make myself happy.

Think about what you are doing and when you succeed what life you will have.” There are several different reasons why I could stay home, work and not go to college; I could go to work every day and make more money for the house, it’s easier, and I would be less stressed. Now, on the other hand there are many reasons why I should go to school; such as further my education, make my family proud, and make myself proud. I am attending college for several different reasons. One reason is to further my education. I hate feeling like I don’t know something, I like being the person everyone comes to for information. It’s not something that I enjoy doing, but I continue to do it because I know something good will come out of it. Since I take on school as my responsibility, when I complete something and get a good grade for it I get a sense of fulfillment and I feel very proud of myself. I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. II first attended Academy of Art, knowing full well that A's were not given out likely, yet never considered not graduating. During my first year at the Academy of Art, I received financial help from my Mother. The Summer of 2012 is when I began working. I was unable to pay rent or bills, unless I worked thirty hours or more a week. I take full responsibility in letting my grades suffer under these conditions. I find working six to eight hours a day four to five days a week, and attending class and doing homework, extremely difficult. I piled too much on my plate at once. Many years ago I remember my parents telling me that in order for me to become successful a college education was a must. They always told me that if I wasn’t in school I could no longer live at home. Both of my parents attended college but neither of them finished. They did not want me to go down that same road because they really regret not getting their degrees.

My journey as a student has always been focused on the path to college and success.
