Continue to Soar A home for the next four years. That is the expected feeling I am hoping to gain when I go off to college next year. I always have put faith and trust in my decision making, and I am excited to make this important choice. All the hours and effort of work I have put in during high school, has given me great opportunities and options to choose from. There are so many colleges, so much advertising, and so many different opinions and reviews to take in. I have gone through all the pro and con lists, visit days, and have had multiple conversations about the options I have available. I want to attend a university that will become my new home. A place where I will be able to grow as an individual, meet new people, and study my …show more content…
The truth of the matter is though, it is expensive. Even if a student chooses a “cheaper” alternative, thousands of dollars of tuition is still to come. I know and understand that I am paying for a large percentage of my education, so money is a huge deciding factor. Eastern Michigan University is an out-of-state school, which gives me a change of scenery and something different, but I will still be able to pay an in-state price since they accommodate for Ohio residents (Eastern Michigan University). It is an opportunity for me to explore more than just Ohio, without breaking the bank in the process. The tuition is 9,178 dollars a year, with a 9,300 dollar room and board (Eastern Michigan University). Miami has a higher tuition of around 14,736 dollars a year and a higher room and board of 12,454 dollars (“2016 Cohort”). With my hard earned ACT score of 27, and my grade point average of 4.0, I will be given a 6,500 dollar scholarship for four years at Eastern Michigan. Miami’s scholarships start at higher ACT scores, and I am not sure how much money I’d be given if I go there. Financially, it would be cheaper for me to attend Eastern Michigan University, and I want to make a smarter choice economically. I do not want to be paying off a large debt for many years to
Education is something I believe in. When it comes to school all I think of is being a future student of Old Dominion University. Ever since the 7th grade ,when I joined the avid program, I have had the dream to go to college. Teachers at Windsor Oaks Elementary school showed me how fun learning is. Plaza middle school instilled in me that knowledge is key to everything. Green Run High School is helping on my way to success. Education is not just the kind of things I do at school, but instead it is learning new things everyday. I am passionate about becoming smarter and gaining wisdom. Growing up, my parents always applauded my hard work ethic in school because they have realized the immense impact that education has. Education has allowed people to thrive more than anything else. Without
As I reflect on my college life, I wonder about the choices I have made that have led me to where I am today and that will guide me into shaping who I long to become. The things I have had to sacrifice, the support and experiences I have had with family, friends, strangers and work colleagues. I don’t know what I will be doing three months or thirty years from now but I do know that I want to have new experiences. When I graduated from high school, I knew I didn’t want to be that person that moved back to the same town and stayed there for the rest of my life. I even contemplate leaving the United States in my adult life. Who really knows, maybe those cards are still in the deck. For now, I know my immediate goals include focusing on completing my college education the best I can, and moving away from my comfort zone, broadening my horizons and taken risks.
“Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson presents Melinda’s (a teenage girl) life as she drifts through her adolescent years, where she struggles to overcome internal depression, as well as typical issues, involving her social life. Melinda’s life in an obscure world, where enigmatic challenges constantly clog her path towards a normal and healthy life, she feels lost and betrayed. Likewise, the boy that raped her attends the same school as her, causing her to have constant memories of the event. Thus, Melinda’s defective life compromising of rape, lack of communication, and depression mirrors the lives of many teens around the world. In addition, this book revolves around the dominant theme of adolescence, resulting to an effect of a realistic- fiction novel.
“When you make a choice, you change the future”. - Deepak Chopra. If you choose me for yearbook you will be making the right choice, and you will be changing the future. Personally I like our school, and if there is things I enjoy I can put that into yearbook and make it more enjoyable for students! Yearbook is something for students to look back at when school is out, and if more students enjoy it, it will have a better representation which will make it more representable for our school.
One of the proudest accomplishments of my life was earning my high school diploma, despite all the hard work that led me where I am today was well worth it. Many people would expect me to say I am coming to college to better myself as a person or to continue my education. The truth is I want to change a life in my community, make my parents proud of their daughter and start a tradition in my family.
College is a place where people go to learn and to grow as a person. Most people go to college for the same reasons. They want to set a good foundation for getting a job, experience new things, or because their parents wanted them to. All of those reasons apply to me also.
As the end of my senior year in high school approached, I had to make an important decision. What school was I going to spend the next few years of my life at? When the financial aid packages arrived, I was torn between two colleges. After sitting down with my mother and discussing the advantages and disadvantages of both schools, I came to my final decision. It seemed like a year ago I was imagining what college life would be like and suddenly before my eyes, I would be a college student in a matter of four months.
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
To what extent if any has your knowledge of psychology helped you to understand other people and grow as a person?
College. It screams freedom. You plan and prepare for months and make decisions that will affect the rest of your life. You pack your room up and move it hundreds of miles from your controlling parents. This is it; freedom at last. No more curfews, no more rules, no more high school “mystery meat” day, and no more boring hometown. No need to worry about money, there’s plenty of it. Your parents are going to help pay for your living expenses and your scholarship and loan will get you through the tuition and fees. Everything will be perfect.
Going into college, a lot of people assume their experience is going to be very straightforward. They think that what they’ve chosen as their major their freshman year is the major that they will graduate with, and that they’re going to make so many new memories and it’ll be the time of their life. For me, going into first semester freshman year, I was really excited. Having grown up in the Bloomington-Normal area I was super psyched to live two hours away in Indianapolis.
There has never been a time in my life where I have not wanted to attend college. Prior to my senior year, I thought they day would never come when I would become a college student, enrolled at a University. Before my graduating year, 2015, it took so long to get to this point in my life. Every year was one step closer in reaching my ultimate goal, which was graduating high school and attending college. That is what my education has been about, getting to the higher levels. Everything that I have done in my schooling has been related to working towards my further education. How you might ask? My one goal was to have a resume, the credentials, and ultimately the personality and character to be accepted into a great university where
Language is the soul of nations, countries and people. Each country has its own unique, charming, melodic, native language, which is being taught from our childhood. I think that knowing and learning foreign language is the key to development. What is more, it can help to achieve economic success. Those who learns English, German, Polish can be reward in their future, because they’ll be highly trained, educated people. As a result, such persons are also better paid people. I believe that a person, who studies some language studies the world.

Study is necessary to succeed. Study is a good way to develop our mental. Study can increase our experience and knowledge. Study can also train our mind to understand the complexities of the subject chosen and then apply that understanding in practical terms.
