Even when I was a little kid clueless about the world I had always seen animals to be one of us. They are creatures with a beating heart, blood running through their veins and a soul inside of them. So it is only right to treat them with respect. But the things that I saw when I was only eight years old horrified me. I saw a dog with ropes around its neck hanging while it was being drowned in a dirty canal by some guy. He was not able to kill the dog so he stopped and let it go. As I saw the dog struggling to stand and run away, I felt like my heart was being crushed into pieces. The only thing I wanted to do was to help save it and all the animals that needs saving. I have always muddled on what to take in college. But recently I realized that I want to be a veterinarian because of my cat Arya. He is the most precious thing to me because he is the one who could always warm my heart up. The thought of him tortured by pain makes me sorrowful. Now I have decided to take up veterinary medicine in college and do what I have always wanted to do 10 years ago. I know achieving my goal would be a long rigorous process. It requires a lot of sleepless nights of studying but I am determined to be a veterinarian. …show more content…
I want to work with pets and farm animals as a practice for my bigger plans. Travelling around the Philippines to cure and save animals would be my ultimate dream. The feeling of giving birth to any animal in the world would be the most magical moment I would ever experience. Seeing that I have successfully treated an animal and save it would make me feel so accomplished. I am planning on doing that for around 5 years and then come my bigger
I have a plan to attend college once I graduate high school. I have not yet achieved that goal, but I hope to. I want to attend a two year school and study to be a Vet Technician. Hopefully once I do graduate college, I’ll finally be able to work with animals, My dream career. I’m unsure if I want to keep it simple and work in a shelter, or if I want to save lives and become a vet, or perhaps work as a zookeeper. Growing up. I used to always dream about opening my own “Pet Hotel”, maybe someday I could do that. Honestly, I don’t care much about what I do, as long as I’m happy doing it.
For as long as I can remember, my childhood dream has always been wanting to become a veterinarian. While other kids were outside having fun at the playground, I was at the library reading books and learning about the different animals. However, as I matured, I realized that being a veterinarian isn’t just about caring for and assisting injured animals. Being a veterinarian means having the ability to make quick decisions in stressful situations, showing complete dedication and passion to this profession, and being able to effectively communicate to pet owners.
Through my experiences, I have learned the reality of veterinary medicine. It is not about playing with puppies and kittens. My clients might not appreciate me, my patients might be difficult, I may get frustrated, and I might not make much money. Yet veterinary medicine is about more than that. It is a career with purpose, a lifelong source of challenge, personal growth, fulfilled academic curiosity, and opportunities to impact lives, both human and animal. In return, I offer a strong scientific aptitude, along with a diverse background and natural empathy. It will not be easy, but a degree in veterinary medicine is, without a doubt, my next pivotal step in
Animals are used today for many sources of protection, food, clothing, transportation, sports, entertainment, and labor, but millions of these animals die each year from abuse. “Most of the reasons that people give for denying animals rights are: animals do not have souls, god gave humans dominion over the animals, humans are intellectually superior to animals, humans are intellectually superior to animals, animals do not reason, think, or feel pain like humans do, animals are a natural resource to used as humans see fit, and animals kill each other” (Evans). It all started in the nineteenth century, when people began abusing animals by beating them, feeding them poorly, providing them with no shelter or poor shelter, left to die if they were sick or old, or by cruel sports. Most of the organized efforts to improve human treatment of animals all started in England. Around the 1800s, there was signs of rising concern for animal welfare in the United States.
...e a veterinarian because I always wanted to know how to help them. But I also know myself well enough that I'm very emotional person that has a hard time handling animals being put down. If we pay close attention to the animal’s behaviors, we will notice they offer many lessons for human beings. Such as they make love last, loyalty, they find love in hopeless place, they help each other out, they can sense others feelings, they respect their elders and they exhibit signs of empathy and compassion. Therefore, the American Museum of Natural History in New York was an interesting and amazing place to visit and to learn. I learned new things about my favorite and different animals. As a final point, I believe as biologists, we still do not know many things about the natural history of many animals, and behind each animal lies a hidden story waiting to be discovered.
I am writing to express my interest in applying for the PGY-1 Veterinary Clinical Pharmacy Practice residency at Purdue University. After researching your curriculum, I understand that your program’s mission is to provide pharmacists with the knowledge of regulatory aspects of drug use in animals, instill a strong sense of ethical responsibility in decision making regarding veterinary drug use, as well as the skills necessary for compounding preparations for animal patients, and to provide experience in research and publications. These skills create a more competent and efficient pharmacy leader. Throughout my training at Texas Tech University, I balanced schoolwork and employment as a pharmacy intern at a retail chain pharmacy. While attending
God created all living things on Earth with the same feelings and all living things have a right to live on this Earth. So if u see an animal getting abused you need to take them to an animal shelter or buy them an extra bag of dog food. When I see an animal getting abused it really hurts my feelings. Have you ever seen an animal getting abused, if so you need to help them.
When I took health in middle school, I found that I was very interested in it, and, I love animals, so now, I want to be a vet. About two out of three vets get injured while helping stressed, scared, and in pain animals, but I still want to be one. So far, it has shaped me into who I am today. In seventh grade, everyone had to take a health class, which, I wasn't excited about because everyone who had already taken it hated it.
Animals have emotions/feelings they are living creatures. They are not toys you can play with and do whatever you want with. We shouldn't treat animals in such horrifying ways, instead we should treat them how we would like others to treat us, with kindness and respect. A very important issue that's going on is animal hoarding. Animal hoarding occurs when an individual is housing more animals than that person can adequately care for.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of diseases.”
Animals deserve fair and ethical treatment, however not necessarily equally. Non-human animals and humans are not one in the same, there is no way we will ever be defined and put in the same category. Humans have reference levels, the ability to reason and think logically. We have evolved to the point where we can study, contain, and determine the outcome of basically any animal on Earth, now it’s up to us to ensure they are treated fairly.
While some people deserve to be sentenced to prison for crimes similar to child abuse or child neglect, those should not be the only crimes punishable to that extent. Animals can not protect themselves or fight for their right to safety(Saranzak). So while murder and child abuse are very horrible crimes, animal abuse is just the same and should be dealt with in that manner(Buff). When it comes to animals, we all see them as the loving best friends we all need. It makes you think again why someone would neglect the most loving thing on this planet.
Firstly Islams religion values place high rules on the treatment of animals that should be respected. over 1,800 cases of animal cruelty in the past year because of the lack of animals having rights revealed in the media, with 64.5% involving dogs, 18% involving cats and the other 25% involving other animals. They should have rights because they have feelings, they are valuable, and they mean a lot to some families to the point where they’re considered to be a part of the family. Most importantly, humans are also animals, So think about how you would feel if someone had full control over you or someone you loved and did things to you that you didn’t enjoy or like. You have to think about their world from their standpoint. Yes, they are animals but they should not be less valued just because they are different from humans.
