Do you ever wonder who the person is who helps attorneys or who you speak to to get an attorney? The answer is a paralegal, and that is the career I’m interested in going to school for. I have a lot of strengths, and I will talk about becoming a paralegal. That’s not all, though. I will also explain the steps and the process for how to get a job in criminal justice. First, what is a paralegal what are its responsibilities, what is the outlook on what a day of one looks like, and why does this interest me? I am interested in corporate, criminal, and family law, and if I get my schooling done, hopefully I can be part of one those paralegal positions. Corporate paralegals monitor for compliance with state or federal laws and aid corporations filing or defending against suits in court. There are many areas of corporate law work that consist of patent, tax, and employment law. Criminal law paralegals focus on the laws and processes that apply to proceedings. They might work either side of the bench, for the court, or also might assist the judge to be assigned to work for the prosecuting attorneys. If not prosecuting, they’re defending clients against criminal charges.
The areas that can be picked from are violent, financial, and drug crimes. This helps paralegals shine at helping prosecutors’ or defenders’ cases since criminal lawyers focus on one area of law. Family law paralegals maintain effective communication with clients. It’s a major responsibility. They deal with emotional issues, from child custody, to division of assets. Family law paralegals also communicate with other professionals, such as healthcare providers and financial officers. The process includes asking questions and delivering documents necessary for the

A Paralegal is defined by the American Bar Association as a person, qualified by education, training or work experience who is employed or retained by a lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible. Paralegals work under direct supervision of an attorney and follow the same ethical rules of the ABA as a lawyer does. ABA Rule 5.3, states that a lawyer must give such assistants appropriate instruction and supervision concerning the ethical aspects of their employment, particularly regarding the obligation not to disclose information relating to representation of the client, and should be responsible for their work product. Per the State B...

I think that one of the most important parts about this job it that it helps people, probably not in the way most people would like it, but it can help certain people. It helps especially in trials, when the prosecutor or defender needs evidence against the criminal to prove his or her innocence.
A paralegal must possess people skills, legal research and writing skills, investigative skills and strong organizational skills to be successful in this profession. Cassandra Oliver, a senior paralegal at a large company states paralegals are organized, detailed, flexible and possess the ability to multitask (Hollingshead). As an investigator, I utilized many of the skills needed, and through classes, developed the legal research and writing skills. I will learn the ethical responsibilities that my internship has not taught me, in my ethics class this fall.

Before starting the paralegal program, I did not have a clear understanding of what a paralegal actually does. I always been interested in being a paralegal, but never clearly understood the full responsibilities. After being in this program, I have some understanding to the many responsibilities than I initially knew. The primary function of a paralegal is to assist attorneys in preparing for hearing, trials, meetings, and real estate closings. In addition, paralegals can also do other office tasks, such as office management as trainer of new hired paralegal, book keeping, and free lancing.
There happens to be many legal duties of a criminal justice lawyer. For starters, criminal defense lawyers have a duty to keep all of the discussion between them and their client completely confidential. This is often referred to as
Some call me argumentative- I prefer the term dialectical. It is true, I enjoy debates more than the average person. Nothing compares to the thrill of triumphantly dispelling an opponent’s case and swaying an audience to my side. On top of that, I have a sincere appreciation and talent for writing, reading comprehension, and grammar. With these attributes, I feel destined for a career in law. Yet, it is more than just my personal tastes that have led to my interest in legal services. Growing up with a disorder, I have developed empathy for people with disabilities and a desire to help them by advocating for their rights. As a lawyer, I hope to take action to make the world a better place to live in for people with conditions similar- and maybe not so similar- to mine.

For example, by choosing your words wisely and making statements, rather than recommendations, one is able to still help their client. Also, by working with a licensed health professional, one is able to form a partnership in which both professionals can help each and still help the client. The goal of the health/fitness profession is to help the client and
