Certified Medical Assisting is a profession in healthcare that is growing worldwide. Medical Assistants are primary key holders in the healthcare field because they work under doctors, physicians, and other people who hold licensures and/or doctorates degrees. Certified Medical Assistants do a wide range of jobs to help doctors like schedule appointments for patients, file papers, injections, answer phone calls, and many other task. Certified Medical Assistants are multi-skilled practitioners who assume a wide range of roles in physicians’ offices and other healthcare settings (“Allied Health Professions”). Clear Communication Skills: Medical Assistants are required to make sure patients charts are up-to-date. These task require asking about current medical therapies, health conditions, and any other relevant health conditions 3. Leadership Skills: Medical Assistants should go above and beyond to provide excellent care to patients. These task can lead to an advance in their career 4. Desire for Continued Education: The medical field is vast and continuously growing every day, so there is always room to learn more 5. Technology Skills: The medical field relies more and more on technology for medical record keeping, prescription refills, scheduling appointments, and other common uses. Keeping up with technology is a must in the medical field, and provides more efficiency (“5 Secrets of the Best Medical Assistants”). Being credentialed as a certified medical assistant is important because without the proper accreditation one will not qualify to take the exam and become certified (“What Is a CMA (AAMA)”. The organization I will choose is the American Association of Medical Assistants because the provide better benefits like membership dues, exam discounts, CEU options, and volunteer opportunities (“Benefits”).
