The dreaded question “what are you studying in college?” Has haunted me oh so many times before. I explain I am studying International Management and minoring in Spanish and French, they ask if like it, well I’d hope so, however, sometimes you start wondering if you actually do. This paper is absolutely frightening to write about. How can a 19 years old know what I want to do for the rest of my life? I think my ideas of what I’ve wanted to do has always been in the same realm of questioning but I never could pinpoint what would make me really happy and what I could live off of. Growing up, I wanted to be an archeologist, a historian, an explorer, or an astronaut. So clearly I’m a tad confused where I want to go from here or even be once I graduate …show more content…
I felt confident in my ideas to earn money and would create events that gained more money for the organization or charity my team or school was helping. Fundraiser is the appropriate title of the occupation. As a fundraiser my primary goal is to earn money or other donations for the organization I work for. I would possibly need to plan events and come up with unique ways to make more money. Another responsibility would be to find donors and keep in contact with the frequent donors. By giving donors recognition for what they have done they will feel more inclined to help donate more again. Fundraisers usually work for a non-profit or an organization that has volunteers that I might need to train for events or to use to help call potential donors.
As a fundraiser I must have a bachelor’s degree and thankfully they look for business majors as one of the degrees they hire for the position. I can also get a Certified Fund Raising Executive designation for fundraisers which I do not need to have to hold the position. The 2015 median pay is $52,970 per year. The job outlook for 2014-2024 is at 9% which is faster than

I noticed that the work environment said that a lot of the medical/health service mangers are able to work with the physicians and patients to make sure that everything is running smoothly on both ends. I would excel at this job for the communication benefits, again it is amazing the ability you have to change someone’s life in this job role. Job responsibilities besides speaking to patients and physicians include, Represent the facility at investor meetings or on governing boards, make sure the place I run is up to date on new laws and regulations, supervise staff, manage the finances (according to online accounts this only means patient fees and billing). The ideal education for the position is already underway for me. A bachelor’s degree is at least needed to enter the occupation, but a master’s degree is ideal for the job (which I already planned on getting after my bachelors). The degree prospective employees have usually is business or something in the health related field (given they have spent a long time in the health field). The median salary for this role in 2015 was $94,500 per year. The job outlook for 2014-2024 is 17% which is much faster than average. The idea that you get paid so much to help others is a really exciting concept to me especially since it is a field that is growing every year. I personally did not even know about this job until this essay
After review of my skills, interests, and experiences, I decided to pursue the medical career field as my first career choice, more specifically as a physician assistant. I will exceed in this position in the interest of that I like to help people and I solve problems well. Also, I communicate well with others and I have a great amount of patience. There are various careers that fit my skills and interests, but this one grabs my attention. My dream job is to be a doctor, but this occupation allows one to save money by lessening the years of school required. Also, the pay isn’t too shabby either. I will be successful in this position due to my skills, characteristics, and values, like honesty and helping others. Up to this point, I have job shadowed at a medical billing company and I like the idea of diagnosing and helping people, but a desk job is not ideal. Also, I took a medical terminology as a class and I discovered that I like how the body works and what it does. These factors have all influenced my career goal.
From the time a child enters preschool, teachers begin asking a common question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” That dreaded query has always haunted me, mostly because the way it was redundantly asked put a ton of pressure on me and my peers. The question was like a rusty nail being hammered into our head’s by society. I continuously had the cliché answers of becoming a doctor, teacher, or a police officer, but with serious reservations. After years of not having a clue, I started to think about what I like to do after the stresses of work and school were gone at the end of the day.
...Overall, this is an interesting career and if someone would like to enter the healthcare field, without doing the on hands patient care, this a good path to follow.
When we were little, we thought the word “Career” was not a big deal, but as a senior in high school, the word has become our reality as we start to finish our last semester. The question we’ve been asked all these years is, what do you want to be when you grow up? But our answer is simple: we don’t want to grow up. As an innocent kid it seemed like the time would never come, but it has. It’s time to get serious and really ponder this question.
Although there are some cons of health care management career, I still think the pros outweigh them. Working in a healthcare management field is very rewarding even though the job market in the small cities and rural area is a little limited. I think that the implementation of the electronic health record system across the United States will certainly bring more jobs in those underserved areas. Being working in a similar field, I do enjoy the flexibility the job offers me. If I were working in a different department, I would not have an option of working and studying fulltime. Despite the fact that most of the entry level positions in health care management field are paid less, it is still better than how much other companies pay to their entry level
Is Medical Assisting a great job for me in the future world? Medical assisting is a job that you help people with. This job includes things like taking blood samples, giving shots, check-ups, etc. Any interests I have had within this career is that you help others, prescribe medicine if they are in need, being prompt and taking care of others. Related talents to this career that I have is enjoying helping people, experiencing blood, doing regular check-ups etc. I have selected medical assisting as a career because its easy/ great training in under a year, employment growth, and flexible schedule. I believe that being a medical assisting is the best career for me.
You go three years of high school preparing for college and at the same time having fun. Until you are in your senior year of high school that’s when you realize and start asking your self what college do I want to go to? Or what college career I want to pursue? That’s when you notice you have but so little time to answer these questions. Me I’m in my last year of high school and I though I already knew what career I wanted to pursue, but its now that I notice that not even I know what I’m going to do with my life? All I’m sure of its that I’m going to graduate out of high school with a diploma and that I’m going to college. But what happens after that? What major did I study? Or where did I go to accomplish my goal?
Making a decision for the future can be hard, but it can be even harder when people are torn between their passions and meeting other’s expectations. In today’s generation, most students are expected to have their career chosen by the time they are out of High School. They are trained to plan and map out their entire lives. Yet, college students still end up having an undecided major by the time they start their freshman year in college. A huge issue that is present in today’s society is that college students chose their major for the wrong reasons. Parents pressure students to pursue careers in business, medicine, politics, and law; however, unless practiced with passion, those careers are pointless.
of experience, I am sure that I can organize a better fund-raising scheme as an
As a freshman, I was conflicted about what I wanted out of college. At the time, I naively believed that I would major in Neuroscience and Arabic while completing plenty of biomedical research on the side. Perhaps I would also sign up for a few clubs here and there and thus produce the perfect resume for medical school. In the following year, I realized that my heart was not into the breakneck agenda I planned for myself and I started to reevaluate just what exactly I wanted to pursue in my undergraduate experience. With the aid of many advising sessions I gained a clearer picture of my passions, which as I had come to realize, were what I truly wanted to work towards. Among my interests is Global Health -- in particular, I wish to learn more
My personal mission is to improve people’s lives through medicine and care and make world a healthier place by using my skills and coming up with innovative ideas to manage healthcare organizations. There are two goals which need to be accomplished: One is the short term goal which is to be accomplished in a short period, say a year or few months. My short term career objective is to complete my Masters degree in Administrative Science with good grades which will reflect in my resume. Second is the long term goal: what I want to do in the next 5 years and where I want to be at the end of the fifth year by effectively shaping my future in an organization. My objective is to be a Healthcare Services Administrator of a healthcare organization such as hospital or public health department. My degree of Administrative Science with specialization in Global Health and Human Services will help me to develop skills to manage a healthcare facility effectively and efficiently, as well as my human resources skills will help me manage and work with people. This will guide me to achi...
For so many years I’ve asked myself the question, “what are you going to do with your life?” For a period of time I struggled with this question. Today, I sit staring at my computer, confronting myself, asking my subconscious “what do I want to do for the rest of my life?” Have I finally found the answer I 've been looking for, or am I under the false assumption that this is the right path for me. This semester has been the ultimate opportunity to explore my questions, doubt, issues, and concerns. I feel that by the end of this paper I will have answered all these questions, and will have made the best decision for my future.
I am also proud that I am active in volunteering. I was the Vice-president of Red Cross Society at school. I participated and organized a lot of events, such as the annual Charity Bazaar and presentations by guest speakers from the city’s Red Cross Society. The thing I 'm proudest of is that the annual Charity Bazaar events were extremely successful and the money we raised was used to help the poor regions of China. As the VP of the RCS, my abilities of organization, creation and communication were greatly improved, my leadership skill was also trained very well. I believe that these abilities would be an important asset in the business
With all the independence and freedom that recent high school graduates possess, they should carefully ponder the possible options that exist. Through abiding by the “check the destination before the ticket is purchased” adage, high school graduates can competently guide their personal journeys in college life or the real world. Regardless of the path chosen, college students and those who immediately enter the workforce will ultimately decide their future destinations. In addition, while graduates pursue their dreams, goals must be set and diligently fostered. The necessity of a college and/or career game plan is crucial, and should not be disregarded. Before Dr. King ended his “I Have a Dream” speech he declared, “Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning.” Similarly, high school graduation is not a finish line, but a starting gun.
What will I do for the rest of my life? Every person asks this question at some stage of their life, usually during their later teenage years. As a high school junior, I am now asking myself this question. After considerable thought, I have devised a tentative plan for my future. I realize that some of these plans and goals may change over time, but with a plan, the first steps of the journey can begin. To prepare me for the journey, I have taken very challenging high school curriculum, such as Honors and Advanced Placement courses. These classes will not only assist in my admission to college, but have also helped me to develop strong study skills and time management.
