Many people love watching and participating in sporting events. Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd U.S. president once said, "Sports is the very fiber for what we all stand for. You can relate many aspects of football and sports to life. . I think football is the best sport I have ever played or watched.
Football requires tremendous amounts of teamwork and sportsmanship to be successful. No one man can win a football game. He may make a big tackle or a diving catch, but without him and the other 10 players on the field he can not win a game. A football player can not be selfish and put himself before his team. "One man practicing sportsmanship is far better than a hundred teaching it" said legendary Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne. Teamwork is vital in the game of football. If you have 9 players doing their job and 2 not doing it then you are not going to be a very successful team. It takes 11 players working and communicating together to be successful.

Football has been a big part of my life ever since I was a little kid. I almost always tried to play football when I could with my brothers if they weren’t busy messing around. During recess in grade school my class would try to start a football game and I would be the first in to be picked on a team. My first time being on a “football team” was in little league my third grade year and I’ve never missed a year yet now that I am a senior in highschool and I’m hoping to continue it in college. Football made the person who I am today, it changed me in many ways and affected how I am as a person.

In America, football is no longer a sport but is engraved into our culture. According to SoftSchools.com, a website containing informative information on multiple subjects, The National Football League was established in 1920, quickly becoming the most watched sports league in the U.S. (“Football”). The league is composed of thirty-two teams, competing each year with the intent to play in the Super Bowl for a chance to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy (“Football”). The Super Bowl is the most watched television program in the U.S., averaging 113 million viewers each year (“Football”). With so many people watching this sport the annual revenue of the NFL is approximately nine billion dollars (“Football”). In contrast, baseball is considered to be the American sport, however, the annual revenue is only 7.2 billion dollars (“Football”). Football has now passed many sports in popularity in the United States being the favorite of thirty-five percent of all Americans (“Football”). The sport is appealing to many because the physical aspect to the game is exhilarating and keeps the fans entertained. However, the physical nature of the sport may cause the popularity but also can make the game dangerous.
In conclusion, football and soccer have their similarities, but these similarities are superficial. There are many fundamental differences, such as the use of one’s hands being illegal in soccer, except for the goalie when he/she is inside his/her respective eighteen-yard boundary. Another example is the alternation of a team’s offense and defense in football as opposed to the simultaneous effort of the offense and defense in soccer. These differences in rules, rituals, and concepts distinguish these two sports from each other. However, there are similarities, such as the fact that both sports allow eleven players on each team to play on the field at a time. Also, the area where one scores is in the same locations in both sports, the end zones of football and the goals of soccer are on opposite sides of the field.
Football provides the American people an event to look forward to. It keeps people on the edges of their seats, wondering what will happen next. When football was first invented, people would not think it would turn into a professional sport. At its creation, their football gear was nothing but leather helmets, shoulder pads, pants, and boot like shoes. I think as of now, this sport will continue to grow in popularity as the years go by. Football will still be a major part of our culture in years to come due to the type of passion that never dies down, it is ubiquitous. The economics of the industry will grow, as well as the culture celebrating the sport, and the global impact will never cease to entertain the population.
Football is more than just a contact sport. What are often disregarded are the benefits that come from the game. The life lessons that young players learn when playing this game are irreplaceable. It molded me a young man into a wholesome human being. One who applies what he learned in football to the outside world. Football has taught me a lot about myself as well as responsibilities in the work
Eight-man football is an entertaining and fun sport to watch that resembles many of the same concepts as conventional eleven-man football. It is played in many small towns and smaller private schools around the country. It is a growing sport due to the fact that many small communities are growing even smaller. This is because of the fact that many people are moving out of these small town communities and into the city. Eight-man football is a great way for student athletes and schools to still get the opportunity to play football even though they may come from a smaller community. Even though eight-man football isn’t exactly conventional football it is still fun to watch and play. People who know eight-man football and played it are just as passionate about it as people who have played eleven-man football.
Football became our greatest sporting spectacle in three distinct senses: as the game on the field, with its swirling chaos of bodies and often incomprehensible, yet “spectacular,” action; as a pageant of band, cheerleaders, card sections, mascots, and cheering multitudes- the surrounding “spectacle” as necessary to the football experience as the coaches and players;
The new rules to Football are much stricter than they used to be. Some rules that have changed include changes to the Red and Yellow cards, usage of a fourth referee, changing of the ball and cleats, prohibition of physical violence during games, and specific rules and regulations. Before, many people did not play Football with rules, they just played for fun, therefore the invention of the Red and Yellow card greatly advanced the competitive aspect of Football. Along with this, people did not always use the balls and cleats that we’ve used today, they used animal skins stuffed with light-weight materials and regular shoes. Now, professional Football players are required to wear specific kinds of cleats and are required to use footballs that are a certain size and meet the standard requirements. Since many people used to play for fun, there was much violence when it came to who ...
Football is one of the most popular sports around the world. From young boys to grown men, they all love the sport. Growing up, most boys wish to play football, but many do not consider the risks that come along with playing. As one gets older, the sport becomes more challenging, increasing the chances of injuries. At the peak of this sport is the National Football League, when professional football becomes the career of many talented players.
Football, America’s great pastime and most popular sport. Why do we love it so much? People enjoy the shared experience, the socialization it offers. Others appreciate the technical aspects of the game, the strategy involved, what it takes to win. Some are in it just for the money, playing fantasy football leagues to owning the teams themselves. This passion has led to the technological improvement of all aspects of the game, how it’s viewed, played, and managed.
From the early ages in history to the present day, sports have always been an important part of society. It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Some may say that football is a violent sport or it’s not beneficial in any way, but in reality it gives a person the basic tools needed not only for playing the game, but also how you interact with people in society.
Our country is full of tv’s with that saying over half of our population have some sort of tv or device that they can watch or participate in some sort of football activities. There is roughly three or more tv’s in each home in the United States. The percent of tv’s in homes now have went up 49% since 1990. Over 200 million people watch some type of sport and that is usually football.
