My trade is a medical administrative assistant, the reason why I chose this trade is because it can be easy to find a job because it’s in the medical field and there are hospitals everywhere that may need an administrative assistant. The reason why I chose this school to further my study is because this school provides me everything I need to achieve my career and its free unlike a college where I would have to borrow money from parents and apply for loans and be in debt when I’ve finished my course this school offers anything a college would offer for my field choice and its free. Some of the skills that I need to acquire in my trade is to know how to use word processing, and be excellent at oral communication, be very organized, and management. Also in my trade I need to have a solid knowledge of medical terminology and procedures in order to perform …show more content…
their jobs efficiently. Some current trends in my trade is that there is always change in the Medicare and the growing costs of prescription drugs affect the patients who receive them and the doctors who prescribe them. Some employability social skills that I’m going to work on to make me more employable is to have better communication skills and being able to adapt to changing technology and be proficient in problem solving. I am an extrovert and an introvert, reasons being I’m an extrovert is because when I’m with my friends I’m very loud and funny and life of the party, but I’m an introvert because when I’m around new people or around people that I just met I’m very shy and nervous and I don’t do well with talking in front of a group of people that I don’t know. I usually like working in groups with people that I know and that I know can finish the task that’s being asked, but I also like working on my own in certain things because I can count on myself to get the task done. My strongest personality trait is having responsibility for my actions and being a little perfectionist at times. My strongest attribute is that I’m very patient and responsible to whoever or whatever the task is. The strengths that I have is that I’m a good listener I will listen to you even when I’m busy, I always have a positive attitude even when I’m in a bad mood or not feeling good, also another strength is that I have a very high patience. Weaknesses that I have is public speaking especially speaking in front of a lot of people and I don’t know anyone, also is that I cannot multi-task I can only work on one task at a time I can’t take on multiple task at a certain time, and I also spend too much time on something that I do not understand which makes me fall behind on task that are more important. I define myself as someone who is very dependable, responsible, and very loyal to anything or anyone.
I am interested in this field because I always wanted to work in a hospital doing something that every hospital has or needs. What sets me apart from the competition is that I’m a fast learning and I can easily learn something if someone demonstrates it to me, I am also very dependable my employer would be able to count on me no matter what I’m doing or what the circumstance is. The company should hire me because they will not regret it I’m a very hard working and once I put my mind to something I get it done whether there are obstacles that get in my way I will find a way to overcome them and get the task done. I dread change because you don’t know what to expect when going to a new environment and what kind of people you’ll meet in the meantime but I’m pretty easy at making new friends and getting the job done because in a job if you change to a different place it’ll be the same job but just with different people and that’s what I’m easy at doing getting along with people is better and makes a task get done
faster. What’s important to me in a job is the customers or clients and making sure that they are happy and that they’ve enjoyed their experience, while at a job the customer is more important than other thing so making the customer happy will make them want to come back. My dream job is to become a doctor one day and save lives and help people who have been injured. What I can do for the company that nobody else can is that I’m excellent at communicating and have a great technical mind. Yes, I have applied for a job at Subway and Rally’s, I was interviewed for both places, the interview for subway didn’t go to good in my answers that I gave him I didn’t put the customer first and I was very nervous, for the Rally’s interview I was nervous and the questions he asked me I was not prepared for them and I didn’t really take the interview too seriously. My favorite website is YouTube because I can watch music videos or even some TV shows that I have missed. Sharp hospital provides many services such as Cancer Treatment, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, and Eye Care. Sharps mission is to improve the health of those they serve with a commitment to excellence in all that they do. Sharp hospital has some care values which include integrity, caring, innovation and excellence. The reason why I would want to work for Sharp is because they provide many benefits such as two PPO dental plan choices which is a Preferred Provider Organization which allows you to visit whatever in-network physician or healthcare provider you wish without first requiring a referral from a primary care physician, and several choices of life insurance. The first Sharp hospital opened in 1955 as Donald N. Sharp Memorial Community Hospital, a nonprofit facility in San Diego, Sharp hospital also has products that you may purchase one product is weight loss product. A placement area that I would most be focused on would be working in my trade and getting a job that I want and that’s related to my trade because I did work hard to finish my trade so I would like to work in my trade, but I would also like to go to college to higher my education and at least get my associates degree. Information Technology can assist me in my social future because if I want to find something about anything I just use to technology and find out. Also, it can help me in my educational future because if I am not sure about something I can look up the information and it will confirm that my answer was either correct or incorrect. After review of my skills, interests, and experiences, I decided to pursue the medical career field as my first career choice, more specifically as a physician assistant. I will exceed in this position in the interest of that I like to help people and I solve problems well. Also, I communicate well with others and I have a great amount of patience. There are various careers that fit my skills and interests, but this one grabs my attention. I will be successful in this position due to my skills, characteristics, and values, like honesty and helping others. Up to this point, I have job shadowed at a medical billing company and I like the idea of diagnosing and helping people, but a desk job is not ideal. I am caring, honest, and open to communication, loving and I love to teach and that is why I should be chosen for the nursing residency program. I want to learn what the program has to offer. Yet, this an exciting career and it will allow me to continue to learn this profession. I am excited about the different training, courses that are available for new nurses to partake in and I am looking forward to that, I am also open to the support of experienced nurses that allow themselves to work with new nurses. Lastly, I want to continue to pursue a career at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and I believe that this program will support me in transitioning to an experienced, professional
Whenever someone thinks about plans after college, the first thought that almost always comes to mind, is college. Because of this, the option of a trade school is basically thrown out the window and rarely considered. Even though college is the first option for a reason and is very flexible, most of the time trade schools are better because they do not make students take unneeded classes, do not cost as much, offer hands-on experience as opposed to theory, generally take less time to graduate and focus only on the chosen field. Trade schools have been overlooked as a substitute for college since college became as big as it is now. The benefits of trade schools outweigh the benefits of college in almost every scenario, making trade schools a better option than college.
When nurses chose to transition from their customary role to emerging roles in health care or maybe even away from nursing to another career, they might encounter challenges that may perhaps affect the way they feel about change. Bridges and Spencer and Adams summarize the models of transition and describe the challenges and difficulties that one may encounter when going through transition.
...rses work in an environment is forever changing. The one thing that I will not change is my dedication to excellence through ethics, standards, and best practices. My commitment to the health care profession is to provide excellent care for my patients. I will work to help manage patients with their illnesses, prevent disease, and promote a health lifestyle. We are health care educators and advocates for patients, families and communities. There is a mix of flexibility, opportunity and job security offered by nursing not currently found in any other profession, which allows me to rotate among different employment settings. I choose this profession to help the ones in need and improve the quality of life for others. There are so many areas of nursing out there, but all these areas overlap and the more I learn and absorb, the better nurse leader I will become.
It is one I know I will love and will be much more than just a job. It gives ordinary people the opportunity to be a proponent for every patient especially those who may fall through the cracks of the health care system. With that being said, I established important goals to remain on this path for success. By the end of my career I hope to be ultimately satisfied with my choices and following the realistic and clear career goals I have put out with myself, I hope to acquire the characteristics needed to become a successful perioperative nurse and become not only a healthcare provider, but an advocate for my patients and to have the education needed to give them the care and dedication each patient
Who I am is a brand new nurse that has entered a different environment of healthcare compared to my previous work of the pharmaceutical industry. I am a person who has always had an interest in helping people, doing amazing things on a daily basis and learning consistently. In efforts to fulfill my interest; I became a nurse through the many obstacles and sacrifices that were faced. To my very core, I am a person of great ambition, empathy, confidence, and value respect. I practice nursing in a hospital environment caring for patients on a medical-surgical floor. How I practice nursing is by providing education to patients, learning the material through experience, carrying out provider orders, taking care of
In the near future my goal is to further my studies; in the nursing field as a Registered nurse. Personally, my main objectives to become a Registered nurse are, to help save the lives of other, accomplishing my goal, and living life more independently. These are the qualities that would best describe personality: enthusiastic, loving, caring, compassionate, honest, and a cheerful individual. I grow up to have deep passionate love for people, especially those that are unable to help themselves on a daily basis. I always vision myself attending to someone’s rescue; that is in danger or in critical condition. What I have noticed from a long time ago; is that the nursing industry is one out of many that devotes their time, patient, and input hard work and effort to help meet the need of others and make a difference.
Personal strengths I will contribute to nursing include strong communication, adaptability, and attentiveness to detail. Strong communication is vital between nurses, patients, and their other health care providers. Nurses disclose the information they learn about patients to other nurses and leading physicians, in order to diagnose and treat medical issues. If strong communication is not upheld this has negative side effects on someones healing. When I was in the hospital, I noticed a lack of communication between the nurses and my surgeon. The surgeon was not informed of the severity of my pain after surgery and this lead to a severe complication. I intend to utilize my skills of communication, so complications can be avoided. As a nurse being adaptable to any situation which may arise is crucial. Working in a hospital is unpredictable and nurses have a responsibility as health care leaders to know a course of action in any situation. I am adaptable because when faced with new and unexpected changes I am able to quickly react and think of solutions to any possible issues. Finally, I am also attentive to detail which is important when a nurse has to observe patients for abnormal health changes. Even a slight change can point to a larger health

In regards to my strengths as a nurse, I have a positive attitude, am hardworking, compassionate, eager to learn, honest, and patient. I truly want to be someone that others want to be around. I also realize that the patients I am caring for are most likely in their most vulnerable state, I long to provide high quality medical care that encompasses emotional and physical healing. In considering my weaknesses. I must admit I feel inexperienced in the field of health care. I also tend to be very hard on myself and need to work on my confidence level. It is also difficult for me to delegate tasks; I struggle with the idea of being a new nurse and walking into a situation where I am expected to tell others what to
Change has been a big part of my career for the past five years. Initially, I changed my work from a hospital setting to an office setting to accommodate my inability to perform fully as an RN. Next, I had to leave my position completely, due to my surgeries and the year recovery period. However, because of my inability to work right now, I have decided to change my nursing pathway for now. Fortunately, being a nurse gives you a multitude of opportunities, therefore, I have other opportunity to work from home e.g., telehealth, medical transcription, case management (Childers, n.d.), as well as a medical coder, which I have been offered to do. They may not be the best jobs for a nurse, but, it gives me the opportunity to continue
The experience of working at the hospital has given me a new sense of perception of the world and of the diverse group of people inhabiting its schema. It has also changed how I perceive myself; I learned that all the stereotypes I may have for a group of people will probably be wrong. I also learned more about my own identity, what I still need to work on, and how to manage it as it exists today. “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” JFK
Due to working with people around in the university Colorado hospital, I believe I am equipped, ready, and determined to dedicate my life to this high level of responsibility. The leadership opportunities allowed me to develop and practice certain characteristics required for nursing. In the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit it has trained me to overcome emotional discouragement, be patient, be attentive to others’ needs before my own, be available for others, build and maintain relationships, organize events, and manage my time under a busy schedule. Moreover, knowing the competitiveness and rigor of nursing school, it has motivated me to maintain disciplined study habits to precede my goal to become a nurse. While working in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit for two years, my experience at this hospital became the most rewarding and enjoyable. The level of complexity and the demand of taking care of the patients in the hospital contributed to my strong passion and urgency to continue to grow my knowledge and help patients. I am fortunate enough to say that all my hardships, triumphs, and various experiences have contributed to my desire and determination to meet the demands of the nursing
