It is often told to maintain law, order and safety.”(n.d.) Such lies with harmless goals, or even benevolent, are justified and are indispensible, as long as it is carefully considered before used. It should not be casually used, neither abused, but properly utilized to shield the cruelty of the world from the unprepared ones as well as the vulnerable ones, in order that they could comprehend them gradually as they develop, with damages minimized. The first of them is what we know as “white lie”, as told in Wikipedia (n.d.), which are commonly seen between social relationships (Aufiero, n.d.) & (Hutcher, n.d.) & (Why Do People Lie? They play a significant role fostering favorable feelings in others’ mind instead of spreading animosities, for example giving compliments to friends while being asked for comments, however repulsive or commonplace the truth is, because no one likes being insulted or criticized. By telling these white lies, friendships and bonds are liable to strengthen and reinforce, and compliments are also more likely to return to you. These lies are technically deceiving but beneficial for everyone; the pros of it actually weigh a lot more than the cons. As discussed in “Why Do People Lie (2010.2.22)” “Why Do People Lie? The answer… (nd.)”, and “Why Do People Lie, Exactly (n.d.)?” the other of them is the kind of deceptions that kids make a lot, starting from their childhoods. It was the fear of being punished or having conflicts with others. This can be utilized either positively or negatively, depending on the teller of it. Sometimes it’s adopted to reduce frictions and minimize the damage they bring; on the other hand it is sometimes used as a means to escape from judgments or trials.
