I believe that everyone has the capacity to change. Rather or not a person changes depends on them; a person has to be open and willing to change. Change cannot happen if someone has a preconceived notion that they cannot or will not change. Some people may believe that change is bad and things should stay at a homeostatic level. With change things can go from good to better, it takes time and commitment and even a substantial amount of effort to facilitate change. It might not be as easy as one hopes it will be, but change can come as a challenge that one has to overcome to get the results that are needed or wanted. Change is good." We hear the catchy phrase everywhere. From company slogans to motivational speeches, our world seems to impose this idea that change is always a good thing. Assuming that the change is for the better, it is probably a true statement in most cases. The root of this idea seems to come from the notion that we are dissatisfied with the state that we are in, so, in order to create a more enjoyable surrounding, we adjust. Others, however, stray from this practice, and instead of trying to adapt to the people around them, they try and change others.

Change is a word that I have constantly heard throughout my high school years. It is a transformation through which everyone goes whether it's for the better or for the worse. For me the meaning and value of change has helped me to focus on the goals I have to accomplish. For others, it is simply just a phase we go through. All of us here have been able to learn and develop from our changes to be come a better and successful person.
In March, my PSYC class was presented with a challenge - to identify a personal improvement goal and to address this issue using an Immunity to Change map. My lengthy list of personal struggles was quickly narrowed down to one item with focused reflection. My improvement goal was to engage in productive thoughts and behaviors that would provide better time management practices. I was initially looking to improve my behaviors at home so that it would translate into success in all areas of my life including my career. With thoughtful observation and consideration, the Immunity to Change (ITC) map provided a developmentally raw process that continues to help me focus on my improvement goal today. Although I am still working on this goal, this process created more opportunities to make significant development changes above and beyond my initial intentions.
In this paper we will discuss how the Immunity to Change (ITC) and the Constructivism Developmental Theory (CDT) can be used in service of personal and spiritual evolution. We will look at an ITC map and the data generated by it and then reflect upon this information. To do this we start by introducing the terms of ITC and CDT and how we can make use of them to support our developmental growth. Furthermore, we are going to explore my personal ITC map and how working with it, through the lens of CDT, has led me to an adaptive change, to my personal growth and evolution.
The purpose of this paper is to review the theory of self-regulation and how it can be applied to practice in health care settings to improve patient outcomes. According to Johnson (1997), more than 25 years of research has influenced the development of the self-regulation theory, which is about coping with healthcare experiences. Health problems have shifted from acute to chronic where it has been identified that personal behaviors are linked to over half of societies chronic health problems (Ryan & Sawin, 2009). As the modern nurse strives to provide specialized care and improve patient outcomes, the utilization of nursing theory continues to gain importance. This theory explains how patients use specific types of information to cope with health care events thus providing a rational for selecting information that can be expected to benefit patients. The concept of self-regulation has been a part of nursing practice in a circumlocutory fashion for years. It has been most commonly referred to as self-management creating considerable ambiguity and overlapping of definitions for that term and self-regulation (SR). For the purpose of this paper these terms will imply that people follow self-set goals introduced by their health care provider.

Some people offer very little resistance to change, they consider it the spice of life; it prevents stagnancy and maintains excitement through diversity. Some people view change like the U.S. viewed Russia during the cold war, as an inevitable threat that we must constantly monitor and prepare for. Other people react to change like an ostrich reacts to danger. They just stick their head in a hole and pretend it doesn't exist. Change is constantly happening all the time to everyone in someway or another. Whether or not change is accepted does not alter the fact that it exists however the way you accept change can alter the way you exist.

For obvious reasons, people reject change. Especially people who are close to each other because they feel that this change is going to seperate them and make them not as close as they used to be. They fight the change until they force the person to change. It's sad how this works, but in reality, it's probably the single most reason why people change. The people we love, love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are forever. Forever is a long time and not one person can always stay the same. Sometimes if the people we love would just accept the change and go with it, they would understand where the change was origianlly coming from.
Adapting to change I find is worthwhile in my eyes. I can see myself grow from what I learn and see by working on myself and change the way I use to think about the word change. I’m discovering that change is good for everyone, it breaks up the normal grove that everyone is in making the discover and learn how to adapt to change. The question that I’m going to ask myself is, am I the right person to reach my goal? You bet! This Earth is home to around 7 billion people. With these people comes the good and the bad. These bad people have expressed criminal behaviors, and with that comes many regrets. These regrets can come from this person or their family, but any person who regret's those behaviors believe they can shape their future actions to be beneficial. I do believe you can change one's future actions, but I don't believe anyone can change permanently.
.... People will remain how they are, unwilling to change, even if it means it is creating a worse environment for everybody else. That is just how the world works, and how it will always work until somebody decides to make a change.
