You know how people blame parents for having kids that are bullies because they don’t care about their kids. Well they are right, and in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare you can blame the parents for a lot more than just having bullies as kids. If it wasn’t for irresponsibility and hate Romeo and Juliet could have had a good life. If it weren't for irresponsibility, hate and forcing kids to marry someone they don’t love. The parents lack of care in their child's lives is the main reason these problems erupt. In the play Lady Montague says "O, where is Romeo? Saw you him today" how can you be a parent and not know where your kids are. This means not even Romeo's parents know where he is. That's a lack of parenting, she probably doesn't even know why he is upset. To prove my point Lord Montague said he didn’t know why Romeo is sad or could learn why" so he …show more content…
That’s also probably why she was willing to fake her death knowing she might actually die. The way Lord Capulet made the decision was so casual he said " On Thursday she will be married to this noble earl" then talked about how they will bring some friends as well. He said it like it was the day they were all going to hang out. He even asked him if Thursday was ok, like he was available or not for that day. Lord Capulet then said something really mean and just all out terrible" You are going to St. Peter's to marry Paris if you don’t ill drag you there" then he says this" You disgust me, you little bug! You worthless bug!". At this point if I was Juliet I wouldn’t be having it anymore, I would just walk away and ignore it. Leave to go live with Romeo and just be happy. This probably contributes to her willing to kill herself without Romeo because without him she would have to be unhappy and go back to that. This would honestly be a decent reason to fake my death without even having to be forced to marry
When Juliet staged her death, she was being dishonest to her parents by telling them that she was going to marry Paris. She acted like she really wanted to marry him, when she really wanted be with Romeo. Dishonesty can lead to many tragedies in life. Juliet thinks everything is going as planned. She drinks the potion, she “dies”, and everyone thinks she’s dead, so they bury her. The only thing left is for her to wake up from the potion and be with her lover Romeo. Things change up and don’t go how they were planed. The friar promised Juliet that he would send a messenger to Rome. “In this resolve. I’ll send a friar with speed”(IV,1,127)
Romeo and Juliet is set in an Italian city named Verona. Romeo is the son of of Montague, a powerful family patriarch, and Juliet is the daughter of Capulet, another powerful patriarch. There’s one problem with this. Capulet and Montague hate each other. There’s another problem. The story was set in a time where men were thought of as superior to women. It was not unusual for a father to marry his daughter to another man just for the political status. This makes it impossible for Romeo to marry Juliet peacefully. In today’s world, Capulet’s actions would not be regarded as good parenting, so that is why, in our eyes, Capulet seems like a bad father, but there is more to his bad side. He tried to marry Juliet off to a kinsman of the prince just for the political status, but his bad parenting also harmed Juliet in another way. He let his anger get the best of him in most cases, and by doing this, it made Juliet keep secret from him. So, by being stubborn, self-absorbed, and hot-tempered, he influenced Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves.

The parents were selfish and could not get over their enmity with each other, and their children suffered the repercussing consequences. Bombarded by the indecision of all, Romeo and Juliet were free-spirited, love-struck, and young. Sadly it was their deaths, not love or marriage that finally brought the two houses together and Verona peace.

In itself, the concept of marrying Paris rendered Juliet suicidal. Tybalt’s death, according to the thoughts of Capulet, left Juliet struck with grief.
