Some teams were nothing in their past but turn out to become a great team because of the income and money they have to spend on players. Just like Manchester City 10 years ago, they were owned by a normal manager, but once they got an income and a lot of money, they started buying great players with resulted in an amazing team.

In July of 2000 Luis Figo shocked the world with what was then a world record €60 million transfer (a transfer is when a player moves teams), the equivalent of almost $82 million. Back then, as one of the greatest in the history of soccer, the record transfer fee was understand. Just this summer, Gareth Bale moved to the same team as Figo had just 13 years before, Real Madrid, for a world-record €100 million, more than $135 million. Tottenham lost their star player, and Real overpaid by tens of millions: this is what the culture of soccer has become. While some argue that big clubs need the revenue they get from spending big, UEFA, the federation in charge or european soccer, needs to restrict free-spending by clubs because small clubs are left powerless to retain their key players, which leads to a lack of revenue that smaller clubs need more, and the money spent and received has a direct effect on one’s success.
The same should be said about every job so why is it that players, especially in the NFL, NBA and ABC are paid crazy salaries. There needs to be regulations and caps guiding how much a player can make. This would help insure that all sports remain competitive and everyone has a chance to win. There is no shortage in athletes who want to go pro. Due to the lack of requirements, the work schedule, and the fact that their job is to entertain. There needs to be real change in the sports industry. Lowering athletes’ salaries would only hurt the current players’ lifestyles. The ones up and coming would still have an excellent future if they made even 500,000 dollars a year. Which is still seven times higher than the WNBA is willing to pay their athletes. The WNBA are just as serious of a competitor as other sports, whether it be ice skating, wrestling or football. Therefore it’s time to make sure that every athlete women or male should get paid a fair and justifiable
There are several reasons for this, first off they play more games than other athletes. In the NBA the salary is sixty three point sixty five million, the NFL is one hundred and thirty three million, and the NHL is seventy one point four million. “In the NBA there are severe restrictions on adding new players when your team's collective salary is at $58m, and shortly thereafter results in a dollar for dollar tax. In football, the number is $120m, but the restrictions are far more severe, making it basically impossible to add players after that point.
Do you think professional athletes are overpaid? You might think they earn more than what they are worth for playing half a year, but athletes have many things which contribute to their salary. Some of these things include their earnings from endorsements, ticket sales, performance, merchandise, their social contributions, and TV ratings. Although there are many factors that contribute to their salary, professional athletes may be overpaid because as a society, we contribute to their success. So, in the end, part of the athlete’s salary comes from the people who support the sports in the first place. These are just some of the reasons why athletes are paid so much money.
Football is a very famous and well-known sport all over the world. Fans go crazy about their favorite clubs and teams play as hard as they can to win the championship. What a lot of people do not talk about is the money aspect of football. Every year football clubs spend millions on buying and selling players, which is called transfers. Apart from that, the amounts of money clubs pay their players, as a salary is outrageous depending on the team. In many leagues, there is the firm belief that spending a lot of money on players leads to success. It is easy to pick out the teams that spend most money on their players since their wage bills are much higher than the rest when compared. Looking at the English Premier League, which consists of 20 different teams, one is able to see how much teams spend on their players. This brings up questions such as: how can we measure how worthy a player is and decide how much to pay them? Or, how do teams decide that a player is good enough? Why do players who seem to be just as good as others get paid so much more? These research questions are all very interesting, though what will be focused on is the relation between success and the amount of money spent on players’ salaries.
The salary of professional athletes are always being debated on whether they make too much or it 's the right amount they should make. Some of the athletes do make millions and millions of dollars, but there is some that don 't. Anyways in order to make the millions first an athletes must make it to the professional level. For example in soccer only 1.4% of people actually make it to the professional level. So the rest of the people make it for other sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and others. To be considered a professional athlete you must be getting payed to play a sport. They will be playing for a league and even tournaments and get rewarded with more money if they win. Some may think an athlete
Moral Ever since I can remember my parents have made it clear to me that disrespecting a women is absolutely not tolerable. As I walked into my first strip club a sense of guilt troubled me. I sat there, watching women provocatively dance and seduce men; I felt as if my morals my parents have raised me on have vanished. Here’s what happens when you first walk into a strip club. You first pay a ridiculous amount of money to just get it in even though you can see naked women on the internet.
Money has always been a part of soccer's history. Players would move for bigger and better wages all the time throughout history. Especially during the height of soccer in the United States and the NASL. As time progressed more clubs began to buy out players contracts from their teams in a way of transferring big names to the team. Soccernomics, by Simon Kuper and Stefan Szymanski, describes how purchasing players for mass amounts of money became the norm in the soccer world today. Kuper and Szymanksi studied the influence of transfer market changes from 1978 to 1997 finding that, “transfers explained only 16 percent of their total variation in league position. By contrast, their spending on salaries explained a massive 92 percent variation” (48). This is due to the fact that when players are paid higher salaries they settle in with the team better knowing that the team is putting trust in them; instead of constantly buying new players and messing with team chemistry. Teams spend absurd amounts of money on players that statistically wi...
Even with this inconvenience, athletes and coaches were making more than half of a regular citizens pay wage. This demand for entertainment came at a growing cost, and those who were willing and proficient at playing the sport were taking home the majority of that bundle. But there was still people making even more than those players. Their coaches. Starting from the great depression, coming all the way to modern football, coaches have made the most revue from the team's hard work.
When addressing the value of entertainment, there is without a doubt, that we as a society value entertainment highly. But there is no reason that these athletes, who are here to merely entertain us, get paid higher wages than those that save our lives and teach us such as medical doctors and teachers. I find it ridiculous that players make millions of dollars a year, and yet demand more. The entertainment that these athletes provide is solely entertainment; it is not essential to the function or productivity of society. If I were to become a professional football player I would not complain about my salary for many reasons. I am playing the sport that I love and getting paid for it. The minimum wage for football is well over $100,000 a year, as is for many professional sports. These reasons by their lonesome are enough to warrant that the salary professional athletes are paid is suffice.
Who do you know that earns over £8m yearly, and for performing what tasks? Well look no further because football managers can earn this and more yearly. The Portuguese manager and self-proclaimed 'Special One' Jose Mourinho earns £11.7m a year, with Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini in second place making £10.8m. Former Chelsea manager Luis Felipe Scolari, now coaching at little-known big spenders Bunyodkor in Uzbekistan, comes in third earning £8.5m. These earnings are because football managers are directly responsible for the performance of their team, and as a result, the success of the club on and off the pitch. Sport management and in particular football management is said to be the system of planning, organizing, actuating and controlling the resources for the efficient and effective delivery of soccer products services and results. However before a manger can perform his tasks he must first be able to access the performance of his team at all times, and herein outlines his first task in successfully managing his team.
Sport has always entertained and influenced our lives. It creates dreams for children and goals for adults. However, many fans are oblivious to the millions they pocket each year. It is without doubt that our sports stars are grossly overpaid. Their annual earnings exceed those we make in a lifetime, even when compared to highly qualified professionals.
It all depends what league you’re in. In the MLS soccer players don’t make as much money as they do in foreign countries because there’s more of a fan base in foreign countries. But people have averaged it up and the salary ranges all the way from $60,000 to $50,000,000. Hopefully I can get the money I deserve in the pros. I can achieve this by getting on a Spanish club.
