The first reason why I think you should get a pet fish is because they are known to have a calming effect when they swim because they are so quiet and beautiful. Although, owning an animal can come with many added benefits other than just having a cute and furry friend to play with. Fishes have gills, eyes, mouth, tail, scales and fins, but most importantly they make great apartment pets. Having a betta fish is better than having a goldfish when it comes down to the cost of food, maintenance, and lifespan.
Fishing was and is a big part of the progression of man. From feeding families to just fishing for sport, fish have played a key role in history of mankind. Fish and dogs can be both lazy and energetic depending on their moods. However, fish are restricted inside the four glass walls of their tanks. With fish not being able to leave their tank this does not put any responsibility on the owner for having to deal with a hyper fish. This also is convenient for a person who does not have a lot of time to spend with their animal. Unlike a fish owner, the dog owner would have to take the dog on a walk to release some energy and keep the dog in shape. This is a lot more responsibility on owners of dogs because the wound up energy can turn destructive if not addressed properly. When deciding on purchasing either animal, a main point to be considered is if the owners have enough time to spend with a dog, or if they have an extremely busy schedule and need a fish who is almost self

In news-in-health, an article states that two thirds of people have pets living in the homes. Pets are some of the best things in the world. I think that everyone should own pets. First, pets can help people with autism and other disabilities. Next, pets can help you relieve stress. Finally, pets can help you socialize with other people.
People believe aquaculture can circumvent the toxins found in wild-caught fish, but “studies have repeatedly shown that farmed salmon has significantly higher levels of PCB's [(polychlorinated biphenyls)] and PBDE's (another environmental toxin) than wild-caught salmon.” (Ryan). Ryan claims that “the problems with wild-caught fish are fundamentally problems with our oceans. Decades of relatively-unchecked environmental pollution have left our oceans dangerously polluted by a number of toxic industrial byproducts.” (Ryan) The reason why they are not as edible as before is because of the pollution humans have made. He also gives advice on how you can choose safe wild-caught fish. He suggests to look at the fish’s trophic level, size, and which ocean it came from. “Fish caught in the Atlantic Ocean generally show higher levels of PCB's and mercury than Pacific fish (although this is not always the case).” (Ryan). In the article “Which Is Better: Wild-Caught or Farmed Fish?”, by Lea Basch, Basch also acknowledges that eating wild fish has its downsides, but overall claims, “wild-caught fish are often healthier, with less contamination from man-made toxins because they feed on a natural diet of smaller fish and algae and come into contact with less bacteria

Pets seem to be able to recognize and adapt to many of the conditions placed on them in our human environment. They can provide the sense of companionship, and love that is lacking in regular human relationships.
"What's wrong with Charlie?" Claire asked as she held out her tiny hands with a motionless gold fish in her palm. "I was just playing with Charlie yesterday, but today he won't play." Claire's parents failed to realize that when their child begged them to buy her a pet, that she knew nothing of how to take care of a simple gold fish. She didn't understand that fish are not pets to be held or caressed like you would a kitten. This situation occurs more often than most people think. Whether it is a result of an impulsive purchase, emotion, or even a stray animal that you came across, many people do not take into consideration what owning a pet may entail. There is a huge variety of species available, from tarantulas to genetically altered Munchkin cats, with many ways to obtain them. Although not everyone is able to handle a giant spider or endure changing kitty litter, you have to realize you are making a commitment to being responsible for another living being. Even with the wide ranging selection, it is crucial to know how to choose a pet that suits you.
I believe animals play an immense role in the health and happiness of the humans around them. Both my experiences and scientific evidence prove truth behind my belief. Ian Cook, MD, a psychiatrist and director of Depression Research and Clinic Program at UCLA, states “Pets offer an unconditional love that can be very helpful to people with depression.”
There are many reasons to get a pet. You could choose to get a pet for a companion, or simply to add to your family. Many older folk choose to get a pet after they retire or lose their spouse so they do not feel lonely. Many young couples choose to get a pet before they opt to have children, and many families add a pet to their home for their children. The question is though, what type of pet to get? Do you get a cat, or a dog? Having a dog as a pet over a cat is much more enjoyable and beneficial to your life, specifically because of their behavior, convenience, and loyalty.
Fish are one of Allah’s mighty creations on this world. Fish are just another common type of organism which exists on this Earth. Fish are everywhere; from the aquarium in an office to the Atlantic Ocean and from the book “Fish Tales” to the notorious movie “Finding Nemo.” The term fish usually refers to a cold blooded (exothermic) aquatic vertebrate which lives and swims inside the water.
One of the most unique creatures are fish. As I am sitting here in my room, my fish are swimming about with not a care in the world. I wonder what it would feel like to be a fish.
Would you like to live a happy and productive life? Then get pets! I must admit it is hard to believe that domesticated animals can promote mental and physical health, but many studies have shown that they can. People who own pets have been known to lead longer and happier lives than those without them. As we get older, we become less active. The more inactive we become, the higher our risk of death. We therefore need something in our lives to keep us busy so we don’t die prematurely, and a pet is just the thing to do it. This is probably because of the companionship, exercise, and responsibility that they provide. On the other hand, you must find a pet that is compatible with you or with your life style. Maintaining good mental health is crucial for living a normal life.
