Social media has blown up since the rise of social network giants such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter. With the rise in social media, there has also been a rise in trolling. Trolling means "making deliberately offensive or provocative online posts with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them" (Webster). I am not just going to talk about trolls, who are usually people who are “annoying” and actually do not want to see the blogger/vlogger progress. I want to address hair bullies or people who try to discredit, humiliate, or provoke an emotional response from someone with respect to that person's hair because they feel they know more, and they may actually have beneficial information, but …show more content…
Does this person impose their hair ideas on other people? There is good advice, which is appreciated but there is also imposition, which is very different. Good advice could be, for example, "I think another camera may work better for your project." Imposing is different and more likely to irritate the person, for example, "You need to co-wash your hair instead of shampoo." The problem with this statement is that if you are not a doctor, a close friend, or even acquainted with the person besides being a subscriber to the channel or blog, then chances are they are not going to take your "advice" seriously. Also, refrain from saying words like "need" to bloggers/vloggers because it implies that you know better than they do and if you are on their video and watching their tips for hair growth, then chances are, you don't know more than them. Even if you do and you are a dermatologist, you can come off as arrogant by saying "I'm a doctor, you should do this." If you are an expert on the subject, then you should definitely voice your opinion by saying "Just a suggestion, you should not spray your scalp with product A directly because..." 2. The definition of bullying uses broad statements to define the actual meaning. Because of this, people may view the definition differently than others. Bullying can range from physical violence to verbal abuse to even cyberbullying. Most people do not realize how common cyberbullying actually is. Over half of teens and adolescents have been bullied online and almost the same number have engaged in the bullying (“Cyber Bullying Statistics”). Cyberbullying is becoming more and more prominent throughout this time period because of the technology continuing to expand around the world. Each year this statistic increasingly grows due to the technology
" This brings us to ‘Good Hair’, a 2009 documentary by Chris Rock that examines what the ongoing pursuit of ‘good’ hair says about African-American cultural identity and the hair-care industry. It investigated and revealed why black people across the ages have subjected themselves to sometimes dangerous, often painful practices in the pursuit of beautiful hair. It also looks into the dangers of many common hair-straightening treatments and reveals the alarmingly high cost of having ‘good’ hair. The social and psychological aspect of hair was delved in by the authors of Hair Story (2010), Tharps and Byrd note, since the beginning of African civilizations "hairstyles have been used to indicate a person's marital status, age, religion, ethnic identity, wealth, and rank within the community..... ...
Something as seemingly simple as hair can be much more complex when we take the time to think about another person’s perspective, history, values, culture, and feelings. The interaction in Seminole, Texas wasn’t just about a haircut.

Before conducting any research on this group, I had many assumptions that I thought drew the boundaries for people in The Dreadlock Society. I believed that they all seemed to have an intense awareness and sensitivity for their roots and culture. But I learned this is not always accurate. Many of the people with "dreads" do have a strong awareness for their ethnicity. However, the art of a perfectly executed dreadlock creation is a testimony to one's individualism and creativity for the men and women who wear and contribute to the beauty of this style.
Traditional bullying that used to occur commonly on school-grounds has now been over shadowed by harassment through the Internet and other technology related devices. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary “cyber bullying” is defined as ...
For many years, I coveted anyone's hair that was anything that my hair wasn't. Despite our differences, we have come to a mutual understanding. And, now, I can say, with some confidence, that my hair and I are friends, not just forced to be together because of genetics. But I can admit this only after years of hard lessons and experience.

Children are often bullied in school, but they can also be bullied online. Cyber-bullying is bullying over devices and often using social media to conduct it. It has become common due to the rapidly increasing use of social media. The bullying is done by sharing embarrassing or demeaning content of one another or writing cruel messages. Some take it a step further and create fake accounts to anonymously harass a person, or even use the fake account to impersonate that person. Due to social media, cyber-bullying is a harsh reality that children are being born
There are many types of bullying one of them is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying had become very popular now and days. This type of bullying takes place on the internet, via text, or any multimedia device. ‘’Cyber bullying often possesses the absence of these traits and it may be linked to the flexibility of online media, which can lead students to play the roles of bullies, victims, and witnesses interchangeably’’ (Quillen 8). This is when someone is being teased at, or named called or even threatened by emails, text messages, or any social media. Some bullies tease others in social media by posting pictures of other kids and making fun of them or by writing comments
In Sarah Nichol’s article “Cyber-Bullying and Trolling”, a view is expressed that social media does not cause bullying. According to Karyn Krawford, online anonymity has little to do with making bullies since most victims already know their attacker. In addition, often in real life, bullies and victims play the same role. As director of Cyborg Australia and expert on cyber psychology, Krawford has st...
Imagine being personally targeted and bullied by another individual constantly. Maybe never seriously injured but verbally abused in person and possibly online. The issue of cyberbullying can be quite pivotal in this new generation. Cyberbullying is a controversial matter that the world must address because of how it can occur anywhere at any time, causes harm to targeted people, and affects all associated parties.
Public opinion is often emotional rather than rational, so it is extremely easy to be incited and would possibly cause cyber bullying, which means to attack one person or a small group of persons by using offensive language.
