Johnny and Ponyboy did not make the right decision to go to the church in Windrixville. Because If Johnny and ponyboy decided to hide forever , then they will be wasting their life being on the run. Johnny and ponyboy will forever be homeless if they decide to hide forever.If johnny and ponyboy just went to the police and turn themselves in they wouldn't be regretting killing the Soc.If Johnny and ponyboy just pea that it was self defence the jury would believe them and then they could live a lavish life .The last reason is the longer time you spend in prison when you get out know one is going to want to hire a man that killed someone.Johnny and ponyboy's life would be sad , just always being on the run knowing that they messed up in life know one wants to live that terrible life. One reason Johnny and ponyboy should have not run is if Johnny and ponyboy decided to hide forever then the police can charge them with more years in prison. Another reason is the longest time you can spend in jail for manslaughter is from 3 years to 11 years and more depending if you run or do other things.In 11 years a lot can happen back then shoes used to cost 10 dollars now shoes cost around 8o dollars and more if you want to get good shoes.Also a new president could be elected or new technology could be made.It would be really hard to adjust to the …show more content…

The author must have wanted Ponyboy to be the main character, being that the book is about what Ponyboy does, and what he thinks, not what about Dally does after Johnny dies. Though interesting, showing how Dally robbed a store with a fake gun wasn’t in the original book. Like mentioned earlier, the Outsiders movie ended abruptly after Dally dies from the police gunning him down. In the book, Dally died at page 154 out of 180 pages. Each page in the Outsiders book gave important details about character, events, or paces, so missing twenty four pages of the Outsiders book made the movie feel short and very different. Finally, like mentioned earlier, there is no Johnny backstory. The makes Johnny feel more bland in the movie. A lot of details from Ponyboy’s thoughts and little flashback about Johnny let readers know this; Johnny is a strong person, but has fears in his life. He had not attempted to kill him, he was using self defence, as the novel had stated in chapter 4, Johnny warns the socs that showed up that they were in a part of town that they were not supposed to be in but the socs ignored the warning and still provoked the fight. Later in chapter 4 it also informs us that the socs were starting to drown Ponyboy so Johnny had used his switchblade without really meaning to kill anyone. Johnny has informed me that he and Ponyboy Curtis were walking in the park in the evening and that a vehicle had shown up and some boys had gotten out and threatened them. These boys had pulled out a knife and threatened to use it against them. One of the boys then started to assault Johnny and another attacked Ponyboy. The one attacking Ponyboy then decided to move him to a fountain and tried to drown him. When Johnny realized what they were doing he had turned to them and pulled out a knife and flung at them without meaning to kill Bob. But keep in mind that Bob was drowning Ponyboy so this act was used in defense. I feel that Johnny is innocent because he was using self defense, but he should not have ran from the crime scene.
