Banning guns Everything what has something to do with guns creates conversation. There is A LOT of controversy, especially between Americans, whether guns should be banned or not. Some Americans are extremely patriotic and think that guns are more than important. Some, on the other hand, think that guns bring nothing more than harm. It is difficult to choose sides when both arguments are as well, or as weakly reasoned. In the articles there are several great arguments on both sides. In the end, the article written by Shiha Dalmia is more based on facts. That is why it is easier to relate on her side, when it comes to guns and banning them. In his article “Gun debate? What gun debate?” Mark O 'Mara discuses the controversial issue of gun control. O’Mara takes the tragic school shooting in Oregon as an opportunity to voice his opinion on the debate of guns. He clearly states his position and explains that gun violence has increased enormously because of the lack of command by the government and support from the public to speak out against it. O’Mara claims the issue is no longer a debate because it is so evident that guns have become a significant problem in this country and therefore actions must be taken to control and govern gun laws. In his article he attempts to raise awareness to the severity of the issue and tries to persuade his readers to take a stance against gun violence
The United States being the leader in per-capita gun deaths among industrialized nations, massive shooting such as Columbine, Sandy Hook, and Virginia Tech, and an average of 33 people dying in the United States everyday due to gun related violence are all reasons that we not only should, but need to regulate gun laws.
I am writing on behalf of my thoughts and myself about gun control laws. My position on this topic is neutral leaning towards the "No Gun" law. The idea of a federal law to ban these guns is a good idea, but it could be better. I believe strongly that guns should be banned from our country in some kind of way, but there are exceptions like for law enforcement and hunters. This law could lower the murder and death rates drastically. The US would be a whole different and safer country to live in. No one should live in a society where they are afraid of being killed by a gun, we should try harder to make this society in the US a better place. I have many reasons to back my views on this topic, and here are some main reasons that you should really think about.
Gun control is a very controversial subject now days in politics. My personal view on gun control is that it will never work. I'm am just fore warning you that this paper may be a little bias, but I'll try to give views from both sides.
Gun control is an important issue in the United States. The big issue with gun control is some people want stricter gun laws. On the other side of the argument people that supports the usage of a firearm thinks that it is an individual’s right under the Second Amendment and guns are needed for self-defense.
U.S congress woman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head. This happened in Arizona, a state where guns are allowed in open carry meaning everyone has option to carry a gun as long as it is not concealed. When this congress woman was shot, the shooter became enraged. After shooting 3 more people his gun got jammed, this is when a civilian jumped him and stopped his irrational behavior. This brings up many different opinions on whether guns should be allowed or taken away. John Luik author of the article “The Increased Availability of Guns Reduces Crime” and Sabina Thaler the author of the article “The Claim of Increased Gun Availability Reduces Crime is Unfounded” are two examples of people having different opinions on such a debatable topic. Both authors talk about guns taking people’s lives, Thalers article focuses on guns taking innocent people’s lives, and Luiks article focuses on guns being innocent people’s protection.

Imagine... you are driving down the street to see your loving family. You stop at a gas station and a guy comes in. He has a bandana and bad intentions. All of a sudden, he loads a pistol and aims it towards you. What are your options? Try to visualize, a guy going to see his wife and kids, but when out of nowhere a person pulls you aside and then points a pistol at you. Over the course of years, ninety-three United States citizens are killed with guns. Due to these reasons, it seems it is necessary to get rid of guns because of the 21,175 suicides, 505 deaths due to accidental/ negligent discharge of a firearm. Guns should be banned for civilian use, due to too many deaths from unregistered users, misuse, and increased crime rate.
In The United States of America there are lots of problems that are plaguing our nation. Gun Control is a problem that there is lots of controversy over. In America guns have been a part of the country’s society since it’s birth. Throughout history the citizens of the US have used firearms to protect the nation, protect their families, hunt for food and engage in sporting activities. The issue of Guns and gun control is complex. Weighing the rights and liberties of the individual against the welfare and safety of the public has always been a precarious balancing act. In the United States, gun control is one of these tumultuous issues that has both sides firmly entrenched in their positions. Those parties in favor of gun ownership and the freedom to use and keep arms, rely on the fact that the provision for such rights is enshrined in their constitution. In this climate of growing violence, rife with turmoil and crime, gun advocates feel more than ever that their position is justified. As citizens of the “Land of the Free” possessing a gun is a fundamental right, and may even be a necessity... Anti- gun lobbyists point to the same growing violence and gun related crimes in an effort to call on the government to take action. By enacting more laws and stricter control, these people not in favor of guns feel society would be better safer.
Everybody in America knows that guns can be a major problem. Especially when these tools are being used on other people. You must be very cautious when you own a gun, cautious as a mouse trying to steal cheese of a trap. Saddly, a lot of people think that guns shouldn’t be used as much as they are now. A handful of people say that if they screw up with using a firearm they should be placed in jail with a box of crayons and paper to draw on. That’s it. Now different cultures have different point of views of this topic. Although, to have a gun is a right that most people will fight to keep, so most people will lose that debate. Unless they have there own Saturday night special than you will probably lose. Plentiful of people also have an opinion on that they don’t think that the gun is the problem it’s the person.
In the modern era, gun violence seems very common when one opens a newspaper or watches the news on the television. I’m some of the acts of violence, guns were used and some of the weapons listed by the media that look like military weapons are named “assault weapons” or “assault rifle”. As time goes on, more weapons like these keep appearing in the news, assisting criminals with their terrible crimes. As a result, the debate on banning assault rifles has risen. The situations where these types of weapons are being used by animals are a perfect reason why assault rifle should not be banned.
