There are numerous reasons to why the depressing and unfortunate event, known as WW1 started. Even though this was sad and very devastating it will always be within everyone's mind. To add on, European places such as Germany, Britain, France, Italy, Austria, and Turkey all contributed to this dreadful act. It all started the date of June 28, 1914 when Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife were both killed in a vehicle, this was then known as the fire starter of WW1. This war lasted about four years from 1914-1919, and the deaths of 10 million soldiers with another 20 million wounded, many of them were students in high school made WWI an unforgettable event. Additionally, the underlying causes of WWI would include alliances, militarism, and imperialism. From this I come to the final thought that imperialism was considerably influential to WWI. Alliances were reasons of why This played an even greater role in WWI than alliances did, but still wasn't the most influential. An example of this was, “Growth in Armaments, 1890-1914 (pg. 317).” In this proportion of the “Mini-Q” graphs are shown to help tell how much British pounds were being spent, in terms of military weapons and equipment. Eventually, strong nations will become even stronger, making them believe that war wasn't a problem for their nation. Another example was, “The Hammer or the Anvil (pg. 319).” This document entails that a German should keep up with their enemies, as well as to not feel as a weak and unprepared group as Britain, Russia, and France are expecting them to be. To add on, Germany wants the sensation to feel as the hammer not the anvil. Militarism, also known for the use of military in a violent way as well as to defend or promote national interests, played an even greater role in WWI then alliances did, but still wasn't the most
