Many nations were strengthened throughout history with political changes, the Industrial Revolution, and by the leaders wanting to make a superior nation. These three key components made nations become able to adjust to new ideas and beliefs. Strengthening a nation was harder than weakening it because it took longer to build up a nation, rather than destroy it. These now independent nations have had many things happen to it so that it become what it is today. Much of it was the government system.

Having more than one ruler governing over a nation has strengthened many nations over the course of history. Absolutism kept from the nation becoming stronger because of the power going to one specific leaders head. Peter the Great did make great changes for Russia, while focusing on scientific and technological advancements. He also made industry and commerce increased bringing population to the country. At this point in time there was steam-powered machinery being able to speed up mass production. It took less time to make what was being sold, which meant they could make more of it. This gave them great political power and great economy. The population of all ages could work at the new factories. More money was made during this time ever than before in Great Britain. Much of coal and iron ore was found in this nation during this time period. Now Great Britain could use its colonies to get raw materials as well as keep the manufactured good. Without the newly introduced machinery, roads would have not been made and the textile industry would have not been such a huge success. This Revolution strengthen the nation greatly from what it was before. Great Britain was becoming more advanced than the other nations around them. More counties would buy from them, knowing that the product could be done in a timely
