As a student, I have a great deal of time to occupy, after I’m done with school and my homework, that is if I have any homework, I’m stuck with hours of time to somehow pass. This is where my hobbies come in, I choose to spend my time where I believe it is most valued, T.v. Shows. The best T.v. show I have to come across has to be by far the best, Dexter. In 2008 the finale of Dexter had a record breaking viewer count of two million eight hundred thousand, this shows the popularity of Dexter and that my opinion is quite common amongst those who have watched Dexter. I believe that Dexter is the best show I have ever watched because it has the best actors, plot, and tone. These are the reasons for why I and I’m sure many would agree that Dexter is the best show they have ever laid their eyes on. …show more content…
Dexter, played by the prestigious Michael C. Hall, who has a very deep voice. When Dexter has captured one of his victims, his deep voice truly instills the fear amongst those who have done wrong. I would imagine lying down in panicking about the potential loss of my life, and to hear his deep voice would give me chills down my back. This is notable due to the fact that he he plays the role of a vigilante serial killer. His voice coherently amplifies his role as a heroic yet vengeful serial
The final episode occurs seven years after the war. Dexter is now a very successful businessperson in New York City. Devlin, a business acquaintance from Detroit, makes small talk by remarking that one of his best friends in Detroit, at whose wedding Devlin ushered, was married to a woman from
Dexter is the lead character of famous crime, drama and mystery TV series, “Dexter”. The TV series is a treat for the psychologically minded
In Walt Harrington’s True Detective, the article centers on the character Victor Smith, better known as V.I., who is a detective who investigates cases of homicide. This article was effective in allowing the readers to understand the perspective of a homicide detective and the many cases they undergo. However, it was difficult to find a connection with this article, because I have no experience with homicide or murder cases apart from what I have seen from the media and TV shows. I was still able to enjoy True Detective, as it described the daily lives of the detectives from Homicide North.
...career ahead of you, Dexter showed us that if you work hard enough you can end up at the top, but you have to be willing to do the work, and everyone has an equal opportunity to be successful it is just the people who are willing to make sacrifices and want to be successful in life. I think that this story has a really good message in it especially because we live in such a small town and reading this makes it more inspiring because it shows us that we can do something with our lives. Even if the odds are against us in being someone important or being super rich we know now that it is possible to achieve this. Dexter shows the American Dream perfectly he demonstrates how you can start from the bottom of the food chain and make your way to the top, but it is going to have to take some work and sacrifices. You never know what is going to happen unless you take risks.
MS2 Report A genre convention of crime TV drama (depending on the general brand of that particular genre), visual and technical codes are very important to the aesthetic of the show. In the opening for Fargo season 2 episode 7, the actions are displayed in a montage, with non-diegetic rock music, from the show’s era, playing loudly over the scenes. This, along with the violence that occurs, highlights the black comedy aspect of the show, accompanied by the various cinematography techniques utilised throughout. The various close-ups used successfully display the emotions of each character, ranging from the ‘deep in thought’ Mike Milligan, to the juxtaposing shots of the various characters being assassinated in different, darkly comedic ways,
Serial Killer. That’s what he is. Cannibal. Another thing he is. One well known name one that makes killers in movies seem good. Jeffrey Dahmer, A killer, A cannibal. This report is on the infamous killer. Jeffrey Dahmer is a well known name, though people do mistake him for other killers that are/were cannibals. He was a case of insanity at its highest.
At the beginning of the semester I wrote in my personal information handout that I felt what made the mystery genre stand apart from all other genres was its ability to keep the reader/watcher on the edge of their seat wanting more information. That mysteries are unpredictable, making the reader/watcher stay until the end because they must know the ending. I still feel this way, but my understanding of this concept has certainly evolved and sharpened.
We've come to a point where television has become so loaded with “vampire-this” and “werewolf-that,” that each show has begun to look like the reruns of another. Luckily, this definitely isn't the case for creator Vince Gilligan's, Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad follows the life of Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston), an ordinary high school chemistry teacher. With a loving wife and teenage son at home, over time, Walter has formed an exceedingly mundane routine for his life. After soon discovering that he had been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, Walter decided to take extreme measures in order to secure his family financially. Eventually, he would descend into a world so dark and utterly twisted, that it would eventually consume him. Walter White became Heisenberg; the greatest drug lord the streets had ever seen. As he ascended in status within the drug cartel, the love and trust he had from his family and friends quickly descended. There are thousands of reasons that explain why millions of people tune into Breaking Bad. This series offers a much needed relief from the Dracula descendents, which frankly, are slowly diminishing any scope of variety existing on television. Because of the outstanding acting, seemingly distorted reality, and uniquely relatable storyline and characters, this hit show tops the charts as the best modern-day television series that cable has to offer.
Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was born May 21, 1960 in Milwaukee. He was raised by his parents, Lionel and Joyce Dahmer who cared for him deeply. Dahmer was diagnosed with a double hernia in his scrotum when he was four and the operation left him feeling vulnerable and exposed as no one explained what was happening to him. This experience could have marked his subconscious all together. When Jeffrey Dahmer was six, his mother gave birth to his younger brother, David. During his childhood Dahmer experienced sexual abuse from a neighbour (which he never confirmed) and neglect from his parents which contributed to his downward spiral into killing. Between the years of 1978 and 1991, 17 young men and boys went missing and were murdered in
This article will discuss a review of Grey’s Anatomy, Nip Tuck, and House. I choose to write my article on this review of Grey’s Anatomy because I am a weekly viewer and my mother watches House. I also enjoyed the shows and reading the article because I plan to go in the medical field to all of these shows have an influence on me. They make me want to go into the medical field even more because of the cases I see on them, and the all of the medical drama.
andrewFrom Garage Sale Mystery, Cedar Cove and more, you will probably recognize Andrew Dunbar, who gives life to Dom and is equally worthy of an honorable mention. Andrew is the kind of actor who knows the business inside and out, and he always seems like a perfect fit in the supporting cast of a Hallmark show or film. Here's hoping for even more substantial roles in the future for him as he is deserving of such an honor.
Shameless is a television series that I highly recommend because of its phenomenal acting and plot. The television serie shows every social taboo you can think of making it even more weird but intriguing. The unusual or raunchy behavior draws people into the show, constantly questioning, “Why would anyone ever do that?” The show also depicts what it is like to live in a less than advantageous environment and the struggles that go with it. It shows a daughter who steps up to take the role of an alcoholic father that is incapable of raising a family of six. Her ability to juggle the family and keep her life somewhat stable has me at awe.
is a great aspect of humour, this is shown in two major ways. One of
The T.V Show no doubt is a great show based in London and is a modern adaption of the books by Arthur Conan Doyle. Though the T.V Show does not have a certain episode for Sign of the Four yet it has many differences in Sherlock’s methods of detection and his personality so it has definitely earned its spot in this book. The tv show was not meant to be related to the books so that all people could enjoy it. This is ironic since many small details are in the show that only the true readers of the book can understand.
A television is defined as “a widely used telecommunication medium for transmitting and receiving moving images, either monochromatic (black and white) or color, usually accompanied by sound” (Webster’s). Since the invention of this device in the 1930’s, people have been able to be entertained by various television shows in the privacy and comfort of their own home. Although each of these shows relate to different age groups, nationalities, race, and genders, they all seem to have one thing in common. They all act out and portray the stereotypes placed on people because of their age, sex, job, culture, race, look, and position in the household. Due to these different categories being presented in the media pre conceived notions are formed about how people should behave, specifically men and women. Women generally take care and men take charge. But why does the television represent this “take care” and “take charge” image of women and men? In this paper, I will focus on one of the highly popularized television shows that viewers watch today; Desperate Housewives. Using this television show, I will be able to show and analyze how women are represented in the media and why they are represented this way.
