There comes a time in life where we have to make a huge choice that will point our life ahead in the direction we think we want it to go and if you don’t make the right choice you could end up living off of minimum wage or even end up without a home to live in. One of the first steps in insuring that you make the right choice you have to have a very good education. When you have an idea of what you'd like to do, you need to start looking at what kind of education you need to achieve that career, because most careers now require certain amounts of education (McQuerrey). Research and make sure that it’s what you really want to do, but never over stress yourself with it and at first you may be able to expect little to no wages because most careers require on job experience so you know exactly what you are doing before you start to earn larger wages (Saisan). With the wrong education you will almost never end up with a very high paying job the world we live-in today are harsh and you need more than talent to get very far. Some of the best advice given is that you should always set your goals high and try your hardest to achieve those goals by putting in your own hard work and determination to be the best at what you are choosing to pursue in your life. Don’t be lazy and sit back and watch amazing opportunities go by knowing you have the chance to do something great and maybe even change a few people’s lives in the process. From personal experience I can say that a lot of things in my life have slipped by me and its nobody’s fault but my own and with an interview I did with my grandfather he said “It’s hard to do some of the things I did back in my day now, it’s a lot harder to get by now and you have to make sure you get a good educat...

... more important than family (Halvorson). Throughout life there is going to be bumps in the road and sometimes some are going to be bigger than others but don’t let that stop you. Control your destiny and you could become someone great someday and touch a lot of people’s hearts with what you do no matter what it may be it could be farming, teaching, rocket scientist, or even a janitor. No matter what you chose you will help someone else’s decision by leading from example and showing them the way. Also last but not least, pick something you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life not just for a few years make sure it’s a lifestyle not a job title (Trunk). Writing this paper I can say I’ve learned so many new things about the process at which it takes to be successful and make sure you’re choosing the right career.

Family, education and a person’s opportunities are significant elements that collectively define an individual, as demonstrated by both Wes Moore’s. Depending on the opportunities offered to you and whether you decide to take advantage of them through hard work and persistence will result in your success or failure in the end. Wes Moore explains “The chilling truth is that his story could have been mine. The tragedy is that my story could have been his” goes to show that certain factors affect how you will be as an adult regardless of similar or differentiating backgrounds. (Moore xi).
I remember a time in my life when I would always play with little children. At that point, at the age of six or seven, I decided to become a pediatrician or a kindergarten teacher. When I started high school, I started feeling stressed out because of the pressure that I was doing to myself to reach my goal of becoming a pediatrician. I could hardly focus on the topic we would have during class because I would be thinking about my future as a pediatrician. With the help of my friends, they helped me overcome the obstacles that I had. The more I thought about what profession I wanted to be, I thought about how much I loved working and dealing with computers. My friends and cousins told me that I should and can be what ever I wanted, and that helped me decide to major in computer engineering at San Jose State University. So you see when it comes down to life, dreams are not the only thing that can keep men going, friendships, pets and companionships can do the same.
As we begin to grow up and come to the end of our high school career we must start to begin to start thinking about what type of career we want to be in. It is very important that a person picks the right type of career for them. Otherwise you will be unhappy with what you are doing and will not enjoy it at all. I am not entirely sure what I want my career to be but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it.
What made the final decision for the career you chose for yourself? Is it something you are passionate about doing? Was it the money? Well what if you could take an assessment test of your skills and see what career would be best for you? You don’t want to be stuck doing a job that you do not enjoy because you thought it paid well. After exploring two very different careers, it was interesting to see what I found. A Business Executive and an art therapist have very little in common.
Highlighting a few points of my childhood that have molded me into the man that I am today are the fact that I come from a Lower Middle-Class family. This plays a major factor on the manner that I process information. I grew up with a Father who was distant at best, working long hour’s day in and day out in a cannery factory, a mother who suffered from multiple health issues to the tune of diabetes, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and an older sister that in my youth I idolized. These factors are the foundation for the future that was to come. My parents had a very unhealthy relationship and had separated at one point and my mother continually threated to leave my father over the years. (TCO 3 & 5)
My grandfather was able to begin a simple career at a young age for the sake of others. He dropped out of middle school so he can pay for his older sibling’s education and help his family. His career as a merchant began as a helping hand in his family’s furniture store, but as he grew older he was able to expand this business. This shows that he had such a successful career and was one of the most famous merchants in Jordan and Palestine. This also shows that after this successful career helped his own future and his sibling’s future, his siblings grew up to
Deciding what career you want to partake in life is defiantly not a straightforward task. One has to choose something they love to do because, in most situations, they will be in that career field for the rest of their life. This is why it is very important to choose something that you love to do and have a passion for. If you treasure the job you have, then you will live a much happier life. In my case, I am deciding to go into the field of electrical and computer science because it is something that is close to my heart. It is also important when choosing what you want to do in life to set goals. These goals will help you to strive for something greater, and they will give you immense satisfaction once you reach them. Everybody has their
One of the most important decisions that any high school student or young adult has to make is deciding what they want to spend the rest of their life doing. Coming into this year I didn't have a clue what I wanted to have as my career. Obviously everybody has their dream job, mine being a pro basketball player overseas, but everybody needs a backup plan if their dreams do not pan out. Recently, I started researching certain careers and taking tests ,such as the WISCareers interest inventory, to decide what career would fit my interests the best. After all the tests and research, I came to the conclusion that becoming a loan officer was what suited me and my interests the best("WISCareers")."Loan officers evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of loan applications for people and businesses"("Bureau of Labor Statistics"). Being a loan officer is the perfect job for me because they have flexible hours, an above average salary, and a limited amount of schooling.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Whatever you are, be a good one.” The world is filled with many interesting careers, but two careers in particular grab my attention and fit my personality best that I can be good at. A police patrol officer and Christian ministry are the two careers that have always kept my attention growing up. The first, being a police patrol officer is a career I have always wanted to get involved in since I was a kid. I would like to have a job with some excitement and adrenaline, which a police officer experiences almost everyday. Based on what my score was from the Career Cluster Inventory results, on the Ohio Career Information System, and from the PLAN test results, I can say that this career field suits me well and fits my personality. The second option for a career that also suits me well is Christian ministry; the broader term being clergy. This career fits my personality because, I myself, am a Christian and this field of work coincides with my beliefs. I desire to serve God and teach other people about Christ, so this career opens the door for me to practice that. The results from the Career Cluster Inventory show that I am suited for this career. I possess the skills that these lines of work require except the training. One way I am preparing to become a police patrol officer is becoming more physically fit to be ready for the physical demands of this job. Currently I am taking a Bible course called Faith Bible Institute, which is essentially an adult-level college class that will help prepare me for Christian ministry. Many colleges and universities offer degrees and training for these two careers, and I have been researching these schools and their programs as well.
Ever wondered what it’s like to have a job? First, you have to find a job that you like and fits you well. Not only should you choose a job that fits you but also a job that you will love and have fun with. Even though there are millions of jobs out there to choose from, you don't want to get stuck with a job that you don't like, do you? Thats why you need to be sure you get acceptable grades and go to college. Getting a job requires lots of responsibility; therefore; you need to get prepared and have an idea on what you want to be or do. A job also requires strong work and determination if you want to keep a job. Having a job that fits your personality will help you pick a job that you will most likely love. The majority of the great paying jobs requires you to have an A-B average and a college degree of some sort. You need a job to receive money so you can buy the items you need on an everyday basis. If you are planning on having a good future, then getting a job is probably your main priority. The job I chose was to be a zoologist. I want to be a zoologist because i've always loved working with animals, and I love caring them, helping them, and making sure they live an excellent life. Zoology requires a bunch of responsibility like the majority of jobs, but I don't mind that because it will be a job that I will love.
What should we do in life? That always seems to be the question. Life is not guaranteed to be easy, never turning out the exact way that we want it to. A lot of people work hard to achieve their dreams of making a massive amount of money and having more than a seven percent return on their 401k plan. Truth is, life is not about the amount of money that we have saved up, it is about what we do to make a difference and how we will make our lifetime worth it. Something that people should set into place is a plan for their future. A plan that would help not only directs their path in life, but the paths of those around them too.
Growing up is scary. Especially when the future is unpredictable, finding the right job can reduce this. It is tough as a kid to think about how to spend the time in the future and what to be doing as a career. There are a lot of decisions to be made. For example, in order to pick the accurate college it is worthy to know what interests me as an individual. There are questions that can be answered that will be able to suggest a better idea of what jobs apply. Well, in the future I would like to have a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
First do research, and become knowledgeable about careers, then find your career, and think critically about the bad or good side of your chose career.
You had better know what you want to do when you get older and you better like it because that is what you will be doing for the rest of your life. However, most of the jobs today needs at least 2-4 years of schooling. I want to be a lawyer. A lawyer will almost always get paid a lot to represent someone or some business. All a lawyer has to do is argue for their client and make them sound good and help them out in legal cases. Also, the lawyer gets to tell their client how much they want to be paid. I think that a lawyering job would be good for me because I love to argue, persuade people, and help people. There are few careers that the general public has the most misconceptions about and lawyers are one of the most common.
Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life. It is so important because that is what we will have to do to support ourselves throughout life. Imagine being stuck in a dead end job and having to go to work every morning and dreading it. That is no spending oneÕs time and life is too short to work 35 years and be unhappy with it. If a person likes the job they do then it is not work, because finding satisfaction out of a job can bring great happiness. That information has enabled me to make the decision of choosing my area of study and career in the field of Information Technology.
