When I was a child, my stepfather was very strict. I remember when he came home from
work, he asked me to bring my homework and showed him. If I did something wrong, he got
angry and raised his voice, and he told my mother to not let me play with my friends because of
mistakes. Since I was a child until now, I can see I don’t have enough confidence in my life
because of my past experiences with my step dad, and I always have stress in my life for every
single thing. However, hopefully my mother wasn’t strict enough as my father, so she let me
enjoy my life as long as my step father wasn’t at home. Children grow up and become who they
are based on parenting style, and the environment that the parents create for their children.

However, I disagree with raising children in a
strict environment because of three reasons.
To begin with, enjoying childhood is a right for children, so they should have it. There is
a reason that people categorize humans based on their ages, and people call “children”, humans
from infant to teenager, which means that they are not adults, so they should do things as
children suppose to do such as playing with their friends, having surprises from their parents in
praise of their good behaviours, and etc. As the result, parents who don’t let their children to
have their childhood and put them in a very strict environment, they are taking cruelly their
children’s opportunities to enjoy their childhood. The example in the beginning of this article is a
good illustration of taking the children’s right by setting strict rules; when the Kim two sisters
asked for candy bars, their Korean parents told them that if they read a book, they will earn the
candy, which means that children as kids can’t have the right of getting candy unless they

When children become a grown up person, they won’t be
happy of recalling that moment of their lives, and they will look at it as a humiliation from their
parents who took their rights of enjoying their childhood. So, enjoying the childhood is a right
that every child should have.
The second reason is that having strict rules for children will cause mental damages on
their brains. Raising in the strict environment causes children to do not achieve what they want,
so they feel empty and become aggressive, depressed and do worst things in their lives. Also,
since their parents are the one who make decisions for them, they won’t learn how to control
their lives by their own. As the result, they become moody people who one day want something,
but the next day they change their mind about that. For instance, I remember when I was a
teenager, I had a friend whose parents didn’t allow her to come to my house and let us spend
some time with each other; the reason was that they thought if she spends some time with her
friends, it will impact her education in a wrong way. As the result, my friend got
The world has experienced many changes in past generations, to the present. One of the very most important changes in life had to be the changes of children. Historians have worked a great deal on children’s lives in the past. “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”- Author Unknown

...rld, parents need to provide them with structure, discipline, and emotional support. The word, “child” shouldn’t be interchangeable with “small adult”. Treating them this way can leave someone insecure, lost, and unprepared for life, as I frequently feel. People are becoming more and more likely to write children into their narratives as these self-governing characters who know what’s best for themselves, but however convenient and valuable that may seem, that is never the role they were intended to play.

Childhood is one of the first biological life cycles we encounter. The experience that we go through shape what we will become. Here in America, as we began to industrialize, we began to have a different view of what childhood should be than in other parts of the world. In Taiwan and in Indonesia athletic shoes are made by children who work in factories instead of going to school. About 215 million of the world’s children work typical long hours for low wages. People in America might find this disturbing because we think of childhood as the first 12 years of life a carefree time of learning and play. But according to historian Philippe Aries (1965) explains, the whole idea of childhood is fairly new. During the middle ages, children of 4 and

In this stage, cultural or values of the family members give children an important impact for their growth. Children are actively in different kind of physical activities, their muscle movement and perception is getting stable, they know how to use language and create creativity. They like to copy others as well as feel curious about all the things around them and started to ask lots of questions. In this stable stage, children started know how to use their physical ability to do many things such as hit their friends or scold people. Children will aways ask: Is it okay for me to do what i do? If they encouraged to do, and adult give them lots of chances to engage activity with freedom they will feel happy and initiative to explore the environment around them. In the meantimes, their language ability will improve speedy, they use language to get new information and the initiative stimulate children's sense of communication or

Children are influenced by their parents’ action. If the parents are not teaching his or her child what is right from wrong, then it may leave the child to experiment for themselves, like becoming involved in bad activity. If a child commits a delinquent act his or her parent should be held accountable.
Different cultures and social groups all have different ways to raise children. Some parents have a restrictive way while other parents may come off as lenient to their children. Although both ways of parenting may seem correct to those parents, the effects of how the children grow up may or may not be good. When raising a child it is always important to maintain a balance between strict parenting and submissive parenting to ensure a better development of mental, behavioral and academic qualities in a child.
Children sometimes get away from their parents. Meaning, children that do not follow instructions or rules grow up to be disrespectful and have bad attitudes. Parents that do not focus on their children behavior will cause problems for them as an adult. For example, if one is not taught to speak
