Why Babies Should Not Sleep

When the word “newborn” is used, what are some of the first words that come to mind? Usually, the response to this question will be, “sleepless nights.” Up until about five or six months, newborn babies do not sleep through the night, causing parents to lose sleep. However, the thought of putting a baby that can sleep through the night to bed is often overlooked. My nephew, Noah, is ten months old; only a few weeks ago did I learn how to properly put him to bed. Through the past ten months, I have learned a lot about babies, since babies have a lot to teach. Though I learned this from an instance specifically involving a baby, I learned that sometimes the easiest lessons to learn can be the hardest lessons to teach. Noah was happy for a couple minutes, yet slowly started to notice that no one was paying attention to him. I watched the movie, however, I was distracted when I heard a small whimper in the background. I looked over and saw Noah trying to reach for his mother, though Katie ignored him and stared at her phone. I saw Noah grab for Katie’s toe and she yanked her foot away, which is what caused him to start fussing. Noah crawled over to Jeremiah, who immediately got up and went to the bathroom to wash his hands. Noah began to cry as he sat looking at each of us individually, just hoping someone would play with him. Noah crawled over to Macaira, nevertheless, she had glued her eyes to the screen in hopes of avoiding her nephew. By the time came for Noah to crawl over to me, he was wailing; his face was red, his nose was stuffed, and his eyes were bloodshot.
