Veterans are a big part in our country today! If we didn't have past veterans i wouldn't be sitting here talking and typing this right now. The present and fallen vets have missed many holidays, birthdays, and many other family events and even watching their favorite sports team just so they can fight for us and give us the freedom we have today. The veterans may have done some bad things it seems like to us,but think about it if they didnt do what they did we would have nothing these days and we may not even be writing/typing this. Vets have went threw alot in wore, they may lose body parts or hearing heck may even risk their own life. Most vets serve over 5 years unless they pass or get a injury that causes them to not be able to serve. Some
It is well known that veterans have the opportunity to pursue a college education after they have served. The problem is students do not know how to appropriately approach or interact with them. Society has even been led to fear them. Edward Palm, author of, “The Veterans are Coming! The Veterans are Coming!”, uses his personal experience to argue that there are five applications of “common sense” to be used when interacting with veterans. Because Palm very effectively uses Ethos in his argument, along with the connotation that veteran interaction is simply “common sense”, any “typical” CU student would more than likely be persuaded. Although Palm’s argument is already very well constructed, there are still some changes he could have made to make it even stronger.
Americans are defined by the respect they have for their country and its government, in taking advantage of their freedoms and rights that they gain by showing respect through allegiance, pride, and loyalty.
For a school project we interviewed veterans and reflected on those interviews, I gained a better understanding of how to answer the question: why are veterans important to us. Veterans remind us of the horrors of war, of the innocent lives that were lost, and the millions of people those lost lives affected. Each of those veterans that we see has served our country fighting not only for our rights but also for the rights of those across the world. They chose to leave their families, jobs, and life back home to go and make sure that those human rights were being maintained across the world. That sacrifice of leaving everything behind is mind blowing.
The purpose of Veterans Day is to honor veterans who have served and sacrificed for our nation. Nevertheless, nobody knows what veterans do or how they feel after separating from the military.
Every US citizen all have something in common; freedom. Most Americans go throughout their whole personal life, whether it be work, school, or other activities, never questioning, ”How do I have the opportunity to be able to do these things?” We instead ask and worry about other things, and don’t take time to acknowledge how we are able to have agency in our decisions of everyday life. The First Amendment allows US citizens to have privileges that don’t exist in some countries, like freedom of speech, religion, and the right to petition. Likewise, this amendment is unique to the United States of America, and no other country in the world has as many freedoms as the US. Because of these exclusive rights, we must protect them from being taken away. This is why the US has a military; to protect the freedoms exclusive to America. This is why we have Veterans’ Day; to celebrate the veterans of war who fought and put their lives down to keep their land free. This essay will go over why we should celebrate our country’s warriors, and it will talk about what veterans give up to protect their country, how their personal lives change, and how they affect our community/country.
America’s veterans should be honored because they have suffered through so many hardships that others could not and have not survived, and they did it for their country that they loved and still love today.
Soldiers, both men and women, risk their lives fighting for our country and when they come home they receive far fewer benefits than would be expected. Throughout history the support for veterans has lessened. The amount of money that is provided to veterans for healthcare and housing after returning to the states has severely decreased since WWI.
Veterans day means a day for us to thank the ones who have served in the military and war. Sacrificing every moment of their lives to defend our country. The Veterans have a significant importance everywhere. Whatever the reason is for them serving our country we should appreciate them for all their work. Veterans day was created because World War I ended . Fighting and wars did not end and are still going on and there are still Veterans out here today. Veterans day is a day to celebrate ones who were in war. Not to be confused with Memorial day , memorial day is when we celebrate the ones who died serving. People today in our society don’t take in consider the ones protecting us every single day. Who do you think fights for us and our country.
Veterans are a hearty lot. They serve and sacrifice, and having the honor of wearing the uniform is enough thanks for most of them.
Veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder need to receive better care, because post traumatic stress disorder is curable, damages relationships, and veterans made many dramatic sacrifices. The health care for veterans needs to be more easily accessible.
The United States has thousands of veterans and many of them suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The care for veterans must be improved. Veteran care needs to be improved because they are not getting the proper care that they need, not receiving credit for their service, and they were willing to pay the ultimate price for freedom, yet people will not pay the price of time to help them.
These Veterans are family members, neighbors, and friends in the community. They fought and served to protect a nation full of people whose freedom is dependent on the men and women who go to war.
Veterans are very important to our nation. They love their country and fought for the things they believed in. The veterans have given us peace today and our nation is what rests on their shoulders.
Veterans are very important to our nation's history and future. Without veterans our country would be alot different without them. They help protect us and keep us safe they are our nation history. They are the reason we have laws and safety and the reason we signed the declaration of independence. They are very good people that do a lot for our community. So that is why i feel we need them in everyday life because without them we would not be safe and no one want to be unsafe.
I am a daughter of a Veteran. My dad served as a Marine in the United States Marine Corp from 1962- 1966. During that time, he served in combat during the Vietnam War. My dad was proud to have served for the country he loved so much. This would cost thousands of Americans their life. For those fortunate enough to return home after the war, the war was far from over. Many of these service men and women dealt with several health-related problems due to the chemicals that the government sprayed in Vietnam. In most cases these problem did not surface until many years later. It would take serval years for Veteran to receive any benefits from the Government.
