Forests plays many essential and necessary roles in sustaining our world. Humans have greatly benefited for what the trees have to offer. It allows for the environment, economy and humanity to advance. Trees are the driving forces to over 4 million employments in Canada. Forestry industries in Canada has an outstanding trade surplus, helps purify our atmospheres, and provides homes to millions of species. To begin with, Forests aren’t just a bundle of trees side by side, they are the home to over millions of species of animals. Trees provide the shelter that animals require to thrive. Trees are virtually cooling systems in the forests. They cool the ground and air surrounding them and provide shade for anything beneath them. On top of that they nourish numerous animals in their ecosystems. The berries and fruit they produce offer food for many of the animals that dwell in their ecosystem. Aside from animals trees are natural defenders of soil erosion. Their strong roots keeps the ground in place and soaks up much of the water preventing floods. Although Forests provide for families humanity isn’t careful in the choices they make. At current rates the forests are unlikely to survive future years. Many people are putting in their efforts to bring back forests. The only purposes of forests aren’t just to bring the income to be able to sustain the family, but to attract the society to the beauty of nature. Deforestation is a huge problem in Canada, but also everywhere else in the world to. Some major cons of deforestation include loss of animal habitats, climate change, desertification, soil erosion, and flooding. Deforestation affects the water cycle. The water cycle is very important for our world, and by chopping down trees that ruins everything. It stops the moisture from returning to the atmosphere.
Once forests began to be viewed as beneficial, it opened up a whole new lifestyle. The forests and nature might have been an evil and scary place, but it was a place filled with resources and opportunity. Settlers began using trees and wood in a plethora of ways. Not only was it used for families own use, many began logging forests as a business; a very profitable business at that. Once wood started being used for beneficial purposes, a snowball effect occurred by the settlers to cut down every tree in sight and turn it into a profit.
Forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet. They produce vital oxygen and provide homes for people and wildlife. Many of the world’s most threatened and endangered animals live in forests, and 1.6 billion people rely on benefits forests offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter (drug war facts, Page 1).

Environmental issues affect every life on this planet from the smallest parasite to the human race. There are many resources that humans and animal needs to survive; some of the most obvious resources come from the forests. Forests make up a large percentage of the globe. The forests have global implications not just on life but on the quality of it. Trees improve the quality of the air that species breath, determine rainfall and replenish the atmosphere. The wood from the forests are used everyday form many useful resources. Moreover, thinning the forests increases the amount of available light, nutrients and water for the remaining trees. Deforestation (forest thinning) is one of the most critical issues of environmental problems that are occurring today.
Restate thesis: In reality forests are better left alone, forests provide the earth with a regulated climate, strong biodiversity, and good nutrient rich soil for plants to strive on.

Trees have medicinal benefits, that are very useful to the human race. Trees are very beneficial to the world and it is unethical to keep destroying the trees.
Most of trees are private property, but that does not mean that they are not part of the community also. Since trees are everywhere, there is a lot of planning that goes into the placement of trees so that they benefit everyone. Trees provide people with privacy for their homes and yards. Trees also serve an architectural function as well. Many architects use trees to improve the looks of a businesses and public areas to make people more at home.

Trees are usually considered as bland, unusual objects that are usually taken for granted; however, I believe there is more to a tree that meets the eye. They supply oxygen and shade. During the holidays, trees are able to spread holiday cheer by wearing holiday decorations. Through providing, they are always beneficial to the needs of others. Rather than having striking beauty like a flower, trees have are grounded and possess a gentle beauty; they are adapted wildflowers to their environment. In fact, if I had to compare myself to an inanimate object, I would choose a tree. A tree has many characteristics in common with me. Characteristics like relying on our roots, strength and observation, and helping others and leaving behind a powerful legacy are a few of the traits we share. All of which I believe are admirable qualities to possess.
Forests are vital for life and have many important functions. They are home to millions of species and protect soil from erosion. Along with this they produce oxygen which is vital for human life, store carbon dioxide and help control climate. They also provide humans with shelter, food and medicines vital for life.
