I have always considered fossils a very important element to discover and understand how nature was or behaved millions of years ago. People always wonder how life was before they were born, even before the creation ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, so the discovery of fossils has allowed and helped us to make those discoveries by studying them and putting together prehistoric puzzles that have led to amazing and wonderful discoveries.
I think the greatest motivation to understand and study fossils is that we want to know how and what life was in the past. Fossils have given us a better idea of how nature was, including animals, climates, geography, and humans. One of the best examples that show the importance of fossils is the theory
of evolution, especially of the human kind. Fossils have shown us how early human-like specimens lived and behaved and how they adjusted to the changes of nature. The significance of this discovery was great because we were able to make new discoveries about how life evolved on earth. They help us understand past climates and that knowledge is used to study global warming and its effects. Scientists and researchers rely on the work of their collages by using and applying the advances and discoveries made in their fields like using X-rays to look into the bodies of mummies and radiometric dating to find out how old a fossil is. Discoveries are documented, so this way there are no doubts or arguments that indeed a new extinct specimen has been discovered.
