Anonymous is not an organization. Anonymous is an idea, and when people come together and believe in an idea they become a group, or a movement. Everybody can be “anonymous”, whose members are often called “Anons”, and there is no leadership. Anonymous fights for freedom of speech and are often against the government. As an Anon said "We stand for freedom and for freedom of speech, for the power of the people and for their ability to demonstrate against the government, we stand for non censorship, especially online, but also in real life". The ability of Anonymous to be everything and anything is their power. It is not individuals, it‘s a collective. This is what makes them as strong and powerful as they are, and gives them the

Operations such as Ope-ration Tunisia and Operation Egypt where they collaborated with other hacker groups to give the people access to the internet and also shutdown some government websites. Anonymous has for a long time been attacking, tracking and tacking down pedophile websites. In an operation called Darknet in 2011 Anonymous was targeting websites hosting child pornography and leaked names of users there. More recently Anons have launched Operation DeathEaters, where they are inviting people to join their fight against pedophiles, to bring them to justice.
Operation Ferguson was launched shortly after the death of Michael Brown. Brown, who was an 18 year old black man, was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, a white Ferguson police officer. This lead to massive protests and riots, and Anonymous threatened the police that if they would harm anyone, Anonymous would release all personal information about every Ferguson police officer including tacking all web based assets of the department and government offline.
Operation KKK was the response of Anonymous after the KKK had been threatening physical force against the protesters of Ferguson. Anonymous hacked their official twitter account and tweeted “You should‘ve expected
There were no charges made against officer Wilson even with the suspects that claimed Michael Brown didn't do anything wrong . Police brutality has made black people take a stand and they formed the Black Lives Matter Movement.The Black Lives Matter movement started in 2012 after George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch coordinator for the gated community, shot and killed Trayvon Martin. Following Martin’s death protests, rallies, and marches were held all across the nation. The Black Lives Matter movement includes all the ways in which black lives are less powerful at the hands of the state, it is a call for action against brutality by police and vigilantes, people who take the law into their own hands by trying to catch or punish someone in their own way. Politicians are also trying to straighten gun laws to prevent homicides like Bernie Sanders. Sanders wants stricter background checks so guns won’t be in the wrong hands. He also wants to ban assault weapons to citizens that were made to kill people. I personally think this can help improve our nation because it will give people with a criminal history less chances of owning guns but it also gives a right to people without a criminal background to be able to own guns for their own
The shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson Missouri became a controversial media sensation. The shooting created uproar and mistrust towards police officers. Many believed the shooting was unjustified and even an act of racism on the behalf of the police Officer Darren Wilson. The Department of Justice issued an investigation in order to understand the basis of the shooting and to decide whether or not to charge Darren Wilson in the shooting. Despite the evidence and the investigation which portrayed the shooting as an act of self- defense, the shooting still remains controversial.
On August 9th, 2014, 18 year old Michael Brown was shot by Officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri, sparking protests, riots, and widespread debate on police use of force. Numerous questions arose as to whether Michael Brown was armed or unarmed, if he had his hands in the air or was attacking Officer Wilson, and whether Officer Wilson was justified in firing his weapon that resulted in the death of Michael Brown (Itkowitz). Twenty-two years have passed since the riots in Los Angeles after the officers involved in the beating of Rodney King were acquitted on charges of excessive force, and it left many to wonder, including myself, as to why this happened again. Why were there so many questions surrounding the incident and how this could

According to Apel (2014), on August 9,2014, Michael Brown,18, an unarmed black man of Ferguson, Missouri was shot and killed by a white police officer named Darren Wilson. Considering the evidence, a grand jury decided not to indict Wilson. This sparked a nationwide protest. People came from near and far to protest the judge’s decision. It was no peaceful protest, it might have appeared to start out as a nonviolent protest, but like many protests, it quickly turned violent. People wanted justice and the people felt as though the system once again had felled them. Barnett (2014), a reporter says that after the shooting groups such as the “New Black Panthers,” demanded a rebellion against the officer who shot Brown. For a while the head of police was not going to reveal the name of the officer who killed the Brown, but after a series of violent protest, the head of police released the officer’s name. If violence was not used during the protest it would not have received worldwide attention. Furthermore, the public would not have known the officer who killed Brown. Due to the amount of attention the Michael Brown’s case received and because of the amount of passion the protestors had and how they were willing to die to get their point across sparked attention. Requiring many people who were in the political spotlight to
Prior to the incident, Brown had forcefully robbed a convince store and stole cigars. On top of that, Michael Brown had been using the illegal substance, Marijuana. The shooting sparked several riots which urged Wilson, the police officer, to resign from his position and was later charged with murder (Hitchcock 20). Brown was in the wrong. He should have never robbed or stolen from a store and he most definitely should not have tried to run from the officer. Whether Brown had been white, brown, prink or black, all criminal justice system officers would have reacted to the situation the same. Wilson was just doing his job. Shortly before, Brown had robbed a store and stole from the same place. Wilson had no idea of what the eighteen-year-old was capable of performing next, therefore, he had to do what was best for himself and everyone surrounding to make sure the small population were out of harm’s
The turmoil and stability of an area are correlated with the crime incidents that take place. In most cases, the extent of such incidents is largely dependent on upon the law enforcement the police practice in that area. The Ferguson incident in 2014 is the best case to demonstrate how the police practice of law enforcement caused a tragedy, and it led to a heated discussion on whether there were police brutality and racial profiling. On August 9, 2014, an 18-year-old black man named Michael Brown was fatally shot by a 28-year-old white police officer named Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri. When issues of crime and race emerge, the society comes into chaos. Points of view on the blame or blamelessness of Darren Wilson were profoundly separated;
They believe they were exposing the corruption and the whistle-blowers on actions the United States has done in both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. How is Anonymous not a counter-culture if it is allied with a hated website and its founder Julian Assange? Julian Assange is on the run against the United States. Trying to find and catch Julian Assange is a nonpartisan issue. Both the Democrats and Republicans agree that what he did and his website continues to do is wrong.
Historically, the Anonymous has been engaging in activities that qualifies the group as hacker group as opposed to troll organisation. The group began its operation on December 2010 by attacking the MasterCard for blocking the Wiki Leaks website donations (Coleman 1). In January 2011, the Anonymous group attack the Tunisian government website for using illegal means against protesters. In February...
Brown, was unarmed, and shot on August 9, 2014 by a white officer. The shooting and result in his death caused a “firestorm of protests and re-animating national conversations on issues of race, policing, and violence in the U.S”, according to Vice News (2014). Brown was shot and his body was left on the ground dead for nearly four hours before he was taken. His funeral was conducted two weeks after, according to USA Today, the Reverend sadly mentioned that Brown was laying on the ground dead for four hours like his “life… didn’t matter” (2015). I do admit the death threats that the Ferguson Police Department received from families, was dangerous. However, one can only put up with so much discrimination and inequality before they snap and say or do terrible
This particular shooting involved Officer Darren Wilson (which happened to be white) shooting and killing an unarmed black teenager (Michael Brown). As soon as this news broke out, angry citizens took to the streets of Ferguson within hours. They destroyed businesses, burned cars and assaulted officers. All of which these events took place before an investigation had even began. The rioters carried on for days without actual facts of what happened that Saturday when Officer Wilson pulled the trigger and let out six rounds into Michael Brown leaving him dead on the
In New York City, several hundred protesters marched in Time Square protesting police brutality against minorities (Anadolu Agency). The protesters wanted justice for the death of Michael Brown, who was killed a Ferguson police officer named Darren Wilson. Anadolu Agency stated that, “Throughout the march, protesters
To citizens, Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown of out racial prejudice. To police officers, Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown out of self defense. The media focused mainly on the citizens negative reactions, consequently labeling Darren Wilson as a racist murderer. The officer received numerous death threats, putting his life in danger. Ben Brumfield and Brian Todd, reporters for CNN state, “Fellow officers have been by [Darren Wilson’s] side day and night, as deadly threats have driven the former Ferguson police officer into hiding…” This is a prime example that media can ruin the lives of officers, as well as put them in legitimate
In the past, doxxing were mostly done by alt-right users from the infamous website that I am not going to name in this response. Many right-wing groups such as Anonymous originated from this website and Anonymous was known to be one of the earliest doxxing groups on the Internet. The difference between groups like Anonymous and @YesYoureRacist is that these groups only dox when someone or some group
Which is even scarier. We allow these anonymous comments on many different websites. This scenario is happening to people every day. We should ban anonymous comments because it can lead to cyberbullying, sexual harassment, and use of the “deep web.” Our first point is that allowing anonymous comments can cause bullying because the person knows they are not known and are relentless.
