If you had a choice to save a baby would you? Many people say abortion should stay legal. Some say that rule needs to be changed. There are plenty of reasons why women get abortions. I can’t blame them, but there are more than enough reasons to not get abortions. Some people agree that the law should stay the same. There are a variety of reasons that it should stay legal, such as the parents can’t afford to raise a baby, they aren’t ready to be parents, scared of family judgments, they believe they can’t raise a baby alone, or just flat-out don’t want a baby. In other words, they think abortion is the only way to deal with this situation. On the other hand, people believe that there are good things that come out of abortions. If I had to chose if abortions is wrong or right I would consider it wrong. There are many different solutions other than abortions. For instance, there are three main options other than abortions. There are adoptions, welfare, or interim foster homes. Giving your infant up is not easy for some people. As a result, there are adoptions. When you adopt your baby out, it doesn’t always have to be to some stranger. You are able to adopt them to your family members so you would still be able to see your baby grow up. However, if you do not want to see your newborn after birth, because of whatever reason, there is the choice of a closed adoption. A closed adoption, there would be no contact between the birthparents, the adoptive parents, or the child. Interim foster care is another option. After most births, mothers reconsider the process of their baby. For instance, while you are still impregnated, you might have already known what you want to do with the baby, such as adopt him or her out. But as soon as you look into your babies’ eyes for the first time, you start to think if you really want to adopt them out. That is were interim foster care comes in. You are able to see the adoptive parents and see what there life style is, or give you time to see what your babies futures might look
How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live and have a future? You wouldn't have the opportunity to crawl, take your first step, have your first kiss, or experience those butterflies in your stomach at the sight of first love. Millions of special moments, a life, shredded to pieces. This is essentially what abortion does. Abortion is not the answer in the case of an unplanned pregnancy and needs to be stopped! First of all, abortion is a type of unnecessary murder that occurs in inhumane ways and cannot be tolerated. Moreover, there are alternatives to abortion and many families who are looking to adopt. Lastly, the side effects of abortion can cause life threatening health risks to the mother. Excuses will always be made, but the bottom line is that abortion is not acceptable and should be stopped.
Before people decide if they want to adopt, they can become a foster parent. When children are not able to safely live with their biological family, Child Protective Services may become involved and place the child in foster care. Foster care is only a temporary living arrangement for the child, while the children's parents work to remedy the unsafe situation (Security,2014). When it is possible that a child may not be able to return home his/her situation turns into a case plan; which then the child is able to be adopted by another person.
Some people who are for abortion say that the baby can be put up for adoption. While they can be, there are already four hundred thousand children up for adoption in the United States of America. Only, one fourth of those kids are waiting
Adoption is in place to balance, to nurture and create a structural environment of safety in which the child can thrive and develop into a productive individual contributing to society. Also, it allows older children to abandon old maladaptive behaviors and make their first steps toward the construction of new behaviors influenced by their new environment. In years past, parents who adopted a child as an infant often debated whether to tell him or her about the adoption. Many children grew up not knowing they were adopted, and the birth mother’s identity was kept secret from those who did know (Ashford, LeCroy and Lortie 249). This paper provides facts on widely acceptance option of open adoption rather than the traditional practice of closed adoption. Adoption separates real biological family members, removing the adopter heritage whether the adoption is open or closed. Open adoption can lead to problems, but there are proven facts that open adoption is the best option for all parties working together in the best interest of the children.
When it comes to abortion I believe that it should always be left up to the woman to make the decision on whether to keep her baby or not. Having a baby is no eas...
With foster care, foster parents get paid monthly by the state to ensure the children are taken care of. Each child gets an allowance every month to have for spending money. The Department of Children Services (DCS) gives the foster families that adopt money for the children until they turn eighteen, and even before adoption the state sends money for helping take care of foster children. According to the Tennessee Department of Children Services. “When children are not able to stay safely in their own homes and there isn’t a relative who can care for them, they often have to come into state custody. The department’s first goal for children is to work toward a safe return home to their families” (1 Foster care and Adoption). Another form of adoption can be through private agencies. Private agencies allow a person to adopt and choose if it is open or closed. Open adoption is when the child can still see his or her birth parents. Closed adoption is when the parents decided they do not want to see the children. In both cases of open and closed adoption most of the time the child or children are infants and straight from birth go to a family, in some of these cases the parents are young and cannot afford to take care of the child so they choose to let him or her be better off with people that can give them everything they will ever want or need. According to Sally Allphin in the scholarly journal article, “President Clinton’s Adoption 2002 Initiative, which intends to double the number of children who move into adoption or legal guardianship between 1986 and 2002. Each year, states will receive four thousand or six thousand dollars for each adoption that they complete above their projected baselines” (1). Getting attached to foster children is an uncommon thing, but in rare cases the children either go back to their parents or a relative chooses to take the
private home of a state-certified caregiver referred to as a foster parent. The placement of the child is usually arranged through the government or a social-service agency. Family-based foster care is generally preferred to other forms of out of home care. Foster care is intended to be a short term solution until a permanent placement can be made. The first choice of adoptive parents is a relative such as an aunt, uncle or grandparent, which is known as kinship care. If no related family member is willing or able to adopt, the next preference is for the child to be adopted by the foster parents or by someone else involved in the child 's life (such as a teacher or coach). This is to maintain stability in the child 's life. If neither above option are available, the child may be adopted by someone who is a stranger to the child. When the child is put into the care of someone who is a stranger that is when the stability problems and abuse and neglect start to happen to the child. Not all foster care homes are bad. Some children are lucky and get loving, caring foster parents. But most of the time kids are placed with foster care parents who are just
Adoption is always an option, and a much better alternative to murder. Yes, a woman does have a choice, but there is always one morally right way to go when considering an abortion, and it is simply to just not have one.... ... middle of paper ... ... “In everyday life, men and women make decisions that affect the life and death of existing people.
Abortion is wrong. It is wrong because when someone decides to have an abortion they are taking a life. A fetus is a person. It is a separate entity from its mother; therefore, that unborn child’s only future is to be born not aborted.
If an unexpected pregnancy should occur, abortion is not the only option. There are many reasons why abortion should not be illegal in all parts of the world, and people need to know the options available. Adoption is certainly a strong option in a world where children want to be supported. Abortion is not a method of birth control and people need to be educated on pregnancy prevention and take on some responsibilities. Many people do not realize that at the moment of conception life begins, it is a medical fact, once conceived the structure of life begins to take place (Medical Testimony).
“Adopting one child won 't change the world: but for that child, the world will change.” (Unknown)(Buzzle.com). Adoption can take place in multiple shapes, forms, and fashions. You can adopt from a local adoption agency, or adopt from an orphanage half way around the world. You can adopt a child whose parents are no longer living, or you could adopt from a young mother who is not ready to raise a child. You can adopt one child who has touched your heart from an orphanage in Uganda, or a set of triplets being moved around from house to house in foster care. There are still further motivations and reasons for adopting. What if you and your spouse are unable to become pregnant? The desire to be parents does not diminish with the lack of
There are 1.5 million adopted children in the United States. (Fields, Jason,) If the parents weren't ready to have to a child, instead of abortion there's adoption. There are different types of adoption. Foster care adoption is the adoption of children in state care for whom reunification with their birth parents is not possible for safety or other reasons. Private adoption can be arranged either through an agency or through independent adoption. Adoption is a lot safer than abortion, if people knew the facts about abortion i bet they'd rather give their child for adoption rather than having an abortion.
The practice of adoption began over 4,000 years ago. All adoptions are arranged in 3 ways private, independent, and closed. Private adoptions are adoptions where you can place your child with anybody you choose with the courts approval. Independent adoptions are adoptions where a child’s placement is put arranged by a lawyer or doctor, in some cases the adoptive parents put in the expenses of the pregnancy and deliver of the couple their getting the child from. There are also black market groups that will illegally adopt your baby (with the birth mother’s permission) in some cases you will have nothing to do with your birth if and when the baby is handed over to the adopted parents. Closed adoption is where there is no information about either families, the birth parents or the adoptive parents, after the adopti...
Through every choice in life, there is a decision that must follow. Abortion is a woman’s individual choice; therefore, must be a legal part in todays society. Individual rights have an outstanding role in the controversial topic, on whether abortion should become legal in the United States . The individual rights for abortion show rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. As well, women should be able to have the choice to choose to have an abortion for several important reasons. The right to make these decisions should lie in the hands of the “mother” to make decisions concerning their own to make decisions concerning their own bodies. In addition, women should be given the choice to have an abortion if they are too young and unable to take care their child financially or emotionally. Additionally, the right to have an abortion is if the pregnancy negatively affects the woman's or the baby's health. Without abortions as a choice for the “mother” to resort to while she is going through hardship on deciding whether to keep the baby or not, the endless possibilities could negatively influence the mother to put her and the baby in a dangerous positions.
Other parents know early in their pregnancy that they do not want the child. The parents have time to go to an adoption agency and start looking for a family to adopt their child. At the agency the social worker will help consider the stability of the possible family. After going through the process the social worker then set up a meeting for a personal interview. During the interview the birth parent finally decides the procedure after the child is born an example is holding the baby or babies before handing them over to the new parents.(Gilman)
