Imagine if one were in the Holocaust, surrounded by hundreds of dead bodies. One could feel the ashes fall on top of their bare head, and they had no way to get out. This is what millions of Jews had to go through. The Holocaust was a horrible period in time in which 6 million jews were killed by Adolf Hitler and his troops. Hitler wanted revenge because of the Treaty of Versailles since he believed it punished his country and put them into a depression. After Hitler became the prime minister of Germany he got his revenge and was determined to eliminated all of the Jews. The three categories of people most responsible for the Holocaust would be Hitler, SS Officers, and world leaders

The person most responsible for the Holocaust would be Hitler. Hitler is the most responsible for the Holocaust because he was in charge of everyone and what happened to the Jews. According to remember.org, ”He eventually won power by democratic means. Once in power, he eliminated all

opposition and launched an ambitious program of world domination and elimination of the Jews” (“Adolf Hitler”). Since Hitler’s country lost World War I he was determined to get power. He wanted revenge for what he and his country had gone through. According to jewishvirtuallibrary.org, “ Rather, they were the victims of Germany's deliberate and systematic attempt to annihilate the entire Jewish population of Europe, a plan Hitler called the Final Solution” (“Endlosung”). One Hitler received power, he was determined to do everything he could in order to kill Jews.
SS officers were the second most responsible for the Holocaust because they were the people physically torturing the Jews.

According to Holocaust Education & Archive Research Team, “The Schutzstaffel, better known as the infamous SS, were established by Hitler, to act as protection force at Hitler’s mass meetings in public. Many of these meetings were violent and ugly, during the Nazis early quest for power” (“The SS”). Hitler, the control of the Holocaust Hired SS Officers as his protection force to help him eliminate Jews since he couldn’t do the job all by himself. The SS Officers were ordered to eliminate the jews through multiple trials and torture them. According to Night it said, “Don’t walk slowly, run! Run as if you had the devil at your heels! Don’t look at the SS. Run, Straight in front of you!” (71) The SS made them run until they died and tortured them brutally. They had no choice unless they wanted to be killed. World leaders were the third most responsible party because they were watching all the destruction happen and weren't doing anything about it. Based on yadvashem.org, “Even when reports concerning the murder of the Jews started to surface, the response tended to assume that the problem would be solved with the ultimate defeat of Nazi Germany. In practice, no military initiatives were taken to prevent or delay the extermination” (“The Holocaust”). The allied countries assumed it would work itself out but that wasn’t the case and they just stood by and watched the destruction happen. According to jewishvirtuallibrary.org, “British Prime Minister Winston Churchill called for the death camp at Auschwitz to be bombed. He was ignored. Hundreds of thousands of innocent Jews could have been saved had the Allies agreed to bomb the death camps or the rail lines which were feeding them” (“The Holocaust”). They called for help and the allied countries didn’t even listen or help.
The three categories of people most responsible for the Holocaust would be, Hitler, SS Officers, and world leaders. If this were to happen again, people would need to take more responsibility and help so this wouldn’t happen again because the destruction it left behind was unbelievable.
