Some people may think that Romeo and Juliet are ultimately to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. The reason people think that Romeo and Juliet are to blame for their deaths is because they are young and do not know much about love. Romeo and Juliet think with their mind not their heart.
However, they are wrong because it was the fate and the long lasting family feud. The family

The fight between Mercutio and Tybalt would not have happened if there was no family feud between the two families. Tybalt said,”Mercutio, you associate with Romeo--.” What Tybalt was saying is that Mercutio has sided with the Montagues. In Tybalt’s mind he thinks that the people that side with the Montagues are automatically enemies. Thus sparked the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt.
Romeo was torn between loyalty because Romeo just had married Juliet right before. Romeo and Tybalt are related now and he did not want anything to happen to Tybalt. You have to remember that Mercutio was also a very good friend of Romeo, but when Tybalt killed Mercutio, Romeo could not do anything about it. So Romeo and Tybalt fought and Romeo ended up killing Tybalt.
Another aspect of leading Romeo and Juliet to their deaths was Juliet marrying Paris. Because Paris was of a higher class than Romeo they would prefer Juliet to marry Paris. Juliet was also incapable of marrying Romeo due to the long lasting family feud. The parents were pushing the wedding on Juliet and Juliet could not let it happen. Juliet went to the Friar and they came up with a plan. The Friar had given an elixir to Juliet so Juliet could fake her
Who is Most Responsible for the Deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Romantic love stories often end with a tragedy, because of the loss of passion or a loved one. These tragedies are often the result of one person’s actions that ended someone’s life or love. In the Romeo and Juliet play written by William Shakespeare, two citizens of Verona come together and fall deeply in love.
The Death of Romeo and Juliet and Who is to Blame Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, in which a young boy and girl fall in love and commit suicide. They come from 2 different families which have a deadly feud against one another. Romeo goes to a masked ball at the Capulet's household where he falls in love with Juliet. He then proposes to her after the party in secret at Juliet's balcony. Romeo then arranges a secret weeding with Friar Lawrence and Juliet tells the Nurse.
Mercutio can be blamed for Romeo and Juliet’s peril because he initiated the fight with Tybalt and forced Romeo to go to the Capulet’s party. At the beginning of the play, Romeo gets invited to the Capulet’s party by a servant, unless he was a Montague. At first, Romeo did not want to go, but Mercutio eventually convinced him under the pretext that Rosaline, Romeo’s love, was going to be there. The next day, Tybalt, a Capulet, went looking for Romeo because he knew that Romeo was at the Capulet party. Instead, he stumbled upon Mercutio and Benvolio and asked them where he could find Romeo. However, Mercutio did not want to tell him and insisted on having a duel. Tybalt killed Mercutio during the fight, and Romeo kills Tybalt because he has the need to avenge his friend. Unfortunately, Prince Escalus punished Romeo by banishing him from Verona. This made Romeo and Juliet’s love
Romeo was very loyal to his friends and family, and it is possible that Mercutio thought that Romeo would help him fight off Tybalt (since he was unaware of Romeo and Juliet’s secret marriage that somewhat united Romeo and Tybalt). However, this argument is easily deemed invalid. Romeo was not in the town square when the fight had first begun, so Mercutio expected his help in the fight would be a far-fetched idea. A person who is not present cannot help or hinder the situation at hand. In addition, Romeo tried to break up the fight when he said, “Gentlemen, for shame forbear this outrage!
In the course of the play, Romeo and Juliet immediately fall in love. Also, they know they are meant for each other and therefore decide to get married. After this marriage, there was a brief moment in time where everything was perfect. They are married, in love and there is nothing stopping them from being together. This however quickly changes after a fight that leads to death. Once Romeo is banished from Verona for the penalty of murder, love grows tremendously between the couple and drives the need to be together. The marriage between Romeo and Juliet is hidden from their parents, so Montague decides to arrange a marriage between her and Paris. With all the conflict arising between Juliet’s family, Friar Lawrence creates a plan that unfortunately does not succeed. His plan for Juliet is to tell her father she will marry Paris then go to bed with no one, not even the nurse. After, she will drink a potion to make her seem dead for forty two hours and then have a messenger tell Romeo about it. He will have her put in a vault to wait for Friar to bring her out so she and Romeo can elope. The plan was perfect until tragedy occurs, Benvolio had seen Juliet dead and immediately tells Romeo about it. The result is Romeo and Juliet murdering themselves and the play had a tragic ending. Overall, young, innocent lovers die, through no fault of their own but a simple mistake. “How oft when men are at the
Romeo denies the fate of Mercutio who fought against Tybalt and lost, so he challenges Tybalt to fight in defense of his honor. His sense of honor would not allow himself to ignore the death of Mercutio. It mandated his absurd behavior to take Tybalt’s life which even further separated the Montague and Capulet family. Moreover, Romeo still decides to marry Juliet after he takes Tybalt’s life. His sense of honor leads him to find Father Lawrence who will marry both Juliet
Every action we take, decision we make, and person we fall in love with always leads us to our inevitable destiny. Some people are meant to live happily ever after while others may not be so lucky. Romeo and Juliet ended up being one of those not so lucky couples. Born as enemies, their love ended up pulling them closer to their destiny which was proven to be death. The main people that can be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet are Juliet, Friar Lawrence, and Romeo.
In William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, two young lovers lost their lives when hate and love collided. From the Montagues came Romeo and from the Capulets came Juliet. The two families were feuding and Romeo and Juliet could not stand being without each other. They both killed themselves because they thought life was not worth living without the other. Though there are many who can be blamed for this tragic ending, there are three that are the most responsible.
Not many people have never hear the story of Romeo and Juliet but in the story, who is to blame? Romeo and Juliet is a love story that ends up with the tragic death of these two lovers. The thing I would most blame for this would be fate, i chose this because there were so many events that weren’t planned or went wrong for this and all those things happened at the worst time.
When Romeo and Juliet met and believed that they fell in love, the pressure of the hostility between the two families caused them to make irrational decisions that lead to their deaths. In the play, Romeo and Juliet made the hasty decision to marry each other in secret (Romeo and Juliet, 2.2.151-153). This hastiness and pressure to marry in secret was caused by the rivalry between the two families, and if Romeo and Juliet had been more careful about the decisions they were making, their deaths could have been avoided. Once Romeo and Juliet made the decision to marry each other in secret, their marriage became a harder secret to protect, and this caused more impulsive decisions to be
Because the love between the young couple is so powerful, they go to Friar Lawrence and they are secretly married. On the day of their marriage Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, challenges Romeo to a duel. In the midst of all this chaos, Romeo's best friend, Mercutio, is murdered by Tybalt. Romeo then slays Tybalt out of revenge. When the prince of Verona finds out what Romeo has done, he banishes Romeo from Verona forever.
When Romeo fights with Tybalt he causes many problems. Not only does Romeo fight but he causes people to fight. “Now, Tybalt, take the villain back again, / That late thou gavest me; for Mercutio's soul / Is but a little way above our heads, / Staying for thine to keep him company: / Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him.” (This is when he really screws up, he says how Tybalt has killed Mercutio so they must fight now. Tybalt dies due to Romeo and this causes so many problems, and so many deaths.
Romeo and Juliet, by Shakespeare was a tragic story of two young lovers whose deaths brought an end to their families' feuding. Romeo and Juliet, liked by some, known by many; this is a different take on how these adventurous lovers… specifically who is responsible for their deaths? Selfish decisions create more problems than solutions as the two scramble to fulfill their desires. Haste leaves no room for the two to plan their decisions and successfully execute their plan. Ultimately, their deceit results in the end of both of their lives.
However, does Romeos acts answer the question of who is to blame for their death, I believe no. The reason being that Romeo was in the dark he was not aware about the plan. May be their parents should be the ones to blame for their death, but could it be fair since they could not measure the power of their love, the power of their love was described by Romeo in this quote "Ah me! How sweet is love itself possessed when but love’s shadows are so rich in
At one point in the story, Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, murders Mercutio, a good friend of Romeo. Romeo believes Tybalt walks away unscathed, and decides,”[e]ither thou or I, or both, must go with him.”(3.1.131). When Romeo says this he is expressing that now that Mercutio is dead, either Tybalt ,and Romeo must die as well. Romeo also completely ignores the fact that killing Tybalt could hurt his beloved Juliet. Instead he takes matters into his own hands and challenges Tybalt to a duel that leads to Tybalt’s death.
