Everyone has heard of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and most know the unfortunate ending, but for most it is also unclear as to whose fault it truly was for the deaths of our star-crossed lovers. Instead of one person being blamed, people tend to split the blame between many people. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare, one of the most famous English poets, playwrighters, and actors of his time. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was one of his most known and famous plays he has written. Throughout his play it becomes increasingly clear the blame is to rest most on one's shoulder for the death of both Juliet and Romeo. This is what forces Friar Laurence into creating the plan for Juliet to fake her own death. Juliet seemed very willing to put the plan into action but if this hadn't been done, Romeo wouldn't have gotten the news of Juliet's ‘death’. He also wouldn't have killed himself over her ‘death’. “I long to die / If what thou speakst speak not of remedy”(IV.I.66-67). In this quote Juliet pleads the Friar to come up with a solution to her problem but if he cannot think of one then she would rather kill herself then be forced to marry Paris against her will. “O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris,”(IV.I.77). In this quote Juliet exclaims how she would also rather jump off of a building rather than marry Paris at all because she doesn't love him.
