Whether true or not it perfectly describes the character of Theodore Roosevelt. Edmund Morris decisively wrote an article claimed as, Theodore Roosevelt, President. He portrays him through several mediums and descriptions, such as his appearance, personality, character, and Presidency. Roosevelt was a man of remembrance. He channeled a crowd. People wanted to follow him. He knew what he wanted and they respected that. As he swore into office his presence was known. He lifted his hand above his head (13), as if reaching to the sky. He stood firmly and spoke clearly, adding an extra phrase to everything he repeated, “And so I swear (13).” He often requested extra journalists to be present (13). Everyone knew him and they loved him. Roosevelt was a man of the public, siding with them against big businesses. He had a true understanding of people. The was he addressed them to his own lineage, which was from several different cultures. He was able to relate to people. Remembered for being who he was Roosevelt is known across the nation. He could command an audience with a firm word and presence. He was American in it’s truest sense. People admired him for being firm but kind. Amazingly, regardless of his interests in war, he was remembered for being a peaceful president (12). Morris clearly has high respect for Roosevelt. Everyone should remember Theodore Roosevelt fervently for the things that he taught the American people. Throughout history, United-States citizens have elected several presidents, and each one of them are worth knowing for an event or an act in particular. There is an infinite amount of lessons that can be learned from other people’s mistakes, victories, and defeats. President Roosevelt does a few specific things to be able to establish his credibility as a speaker. Since Roosevelt was the current president, the United States was inclined to listen to him and believe what he was saying. Being the president, the people knew that he was a credible source to receive information from. The president had also been appointed Assistant Secretary of the Navy in 1920.
During his presidency Roosevelt had a tendency to carry the big stick then to speak softly. He got quite involved with the situation in Central and South America and also there was the controversy of the acquisition of the Philippines in the Pacific Islands. Roosevelt was also able to show the soft-spoken, sophisticated side of his diplomacy in dealing with major powers outside the Western Hemisphere. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for his negotiations with Russia and Japan, hardly the actions of a war monger. Roosevelt was just an energetic person and he wanted to civilize what he thought of as uncivilized countries.

Theodore Roosevelt was one of our greatest presidents. He created the FDA and improved the position of the presidency greatly. Before Theodore came to be president, the position of presidency was slow and wasn’t very interesting so he made the executive branch more powerful by starting new reforms and a strong foreign policy. The life of a president is hard. It is full of stress, responsibilities, and a strong dedication the welfare of your country. Theodore had to deal with all of these presidential stresses, taking up much of his time. Do you know, though, that despite being a president, he led a life of excitement and freedom that many other presidents had never before experienced? On October 12, 1912 Roosevelt was campaigning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin a man standing in the crowd aiming a gun to his head, pulled the trigger hitting Roosevelt in the right chest. At first he didn’t realize he had been shot until noticing a hole in his overcoat. He checked under his coat his fingers were covered in blood. Fortunately, the bullet struck his case for his glasses and the copy of his speech, he refused to go to the hospital until he was done giving an 80 minute speech. But for the majority of the country during one of our toughest times, he was what we needed. Without consulting history acknowledging that, it’s impossible to judge what he did very negatively. The old ways weren’t working, and while President Hoover tried to do something, it wasn’t enough.
