This is important since even people today day want to know the story of who sank the Titanic . The reason you should care is this Catastrophe helped the boat industry be more prepared for an emergency . Captain Smith is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic since he ignored several iceberg warnings illustrated in the fact that he did not slow his ship or change his path.
In addition Captain Smith left the bridge and went to a party . Even after he knew about the icebergs . The captain of the ship should have stayed, but he went to a party , they may have been able to avoid the icebergs if he didn’t go to the party . That makes captain smith responsible for the sinking
of the Titanic . The next thing I’m going to say is that Captain Smith didn’t the lifeboat drills . If he didn’t cancel them it would have been more organized when the emergency happened. He didn’t make sure the lifeboats were filled to the max . Some were less than half filled . More people would have survived if he checked . Finally captain Smith did not make sure orders were followed . People could have just winged in or do something wrong . He should have been more cautious than he was . He also shouldn’t have left and went to the party . Therefore, his decision not to listen to the iceberg warnings makes him responsible for the sinking of the titanic . The reason this topic is important because it impacted the boat industry greatly . Now boats are more prepared for an accident like that one .
The Titanic was the biggest ship ever made in history until the night of April 14, 1912, was a night to remember. It struck an iceberg damaging the bottom of the ship, filling with water, allowing to break in half and the death of 1,500 people. Who is to blame for the death all these people? Edward J.Smith is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic and the death of the 1,500 people.
"We are all going to die!" That is what 1500 people were thinking when the Titanic was going down, and they were right. The Titanic was the biggest ship in the world at the time. The Titanic hit an iceberg on April 14, 1912, and over 1500 lives were lost to the deep Atlantic. The person responsible was J. Bruce Ismay. Ismay left the ship with woman and children still on board when he could of saved other people, he ultimately decided for the Titanic to only have 20 lifeboats, and Ismay owned the company that made and designed the Titanic and all of its flaws.
First, it was Captain Smith’s fault. If he wouldn’t have ignored the seven iceberg warnings from his crew and other ships the Titanic wouldn’t have sunk. Also, if he would have called for the ship to slow down this tragedy wouldn’t have happened.
As an adventurous English boy, John Smith longed to see the world, but he probably never imagined that he'd become famous for helping settle a new colony. John Smith belongs in History because he is the one who helped Jamestown get food and helped organize and run the colony. John Smith, English explorer and colonist, was an important leader and has changed America.
The Titanic Disaster The boat was said to be unsinkable, you believe the captain of course, so you are not worried about the boat sinking, but then on a freezing night you wake up to screaming, water up to your neese, you scream and push your way through the crowd of people but it's too late. This is how people on the Titanic in 1912 felt as the huge boat fille nd with water. The Titanic was one of the biggest luxury ocean liners at the time. The Titanic was said to be unsinkable… but it sank, what happened that night, why did the unsinkable sink?
The Titanic: Why Would it Sink The Titanic claimed to be the ship of its time; one that would never sink. However, what the Titanic claimed to be was not the case because on April 15, 1912 the Titanic hit an iceberg, broke in half, and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. There has been debate ever since that fateful day as to how this happened to the Titanic. Some conspiracy theorists believe the ship never even sank -- regardless of whether the ship remains at the bottom of the ocean. Other conspiracy theorists believe the Titanic was actually switched to the RMS Olympic because of an insurance scam.
The ship, R.M.S Titanic, has been popular several different times in a little over 100 years. The first time in April 1912 when it first sailed for North America. This great ship was said to be unsinkable. Many errors led to the major tragedy of the Titanic, including the life boats were not all there or filled as much as they should have been, the ship tried to go full speed to break the iceberg, and the Californian ship did not respond the Carpathia had saved the rest.
According to the story “From Exploring the Titanic”, Captain Smith did not seem all that worried about the iceberg and brushed away most of the iceberg warnings. This caused the rest of the crew to also ignore the iceberg warnings, showing the poor communication between the crew. The article “Titanic Past and Present” also states that Smith didn’t make sure the navigation crew was aware of the ice warning and did not post the warning to the chart room. This shows that Smith was very relaxed about the iceberg and did not see it as a threat, and so by the time they realized it was a real danger, it was too late and was responsible for the sinking of the ship. In summary, because of the captain’s laid-back attitude towards the iceberg, the crew did not see it as a threat, so they did not pay attention when they were approaching the ice field, and only turned in time to avoid hitting it head-on, but it still scraped the side of the
We have all heard about the Titanic. Either we have watched the romance movie or done our research in a different way. No matter where we get our information from we know the biggest parts of the tragedy. The ship Titanic crashed into an iceberg on a cold April night on the Atlantic Ocean while sailing its first trip. But haven’t you ever wanted to know more details about? Maybe how the people who were on it and survived? How could the situation be prevented? Couldn’t they have saved more people? Well in the book “A Night to Remember” it has details on the Titanic you have probably never thought of knowing. While reading the first chapter some parts really caught my attention. One was when people felt the jolt from the collision with the ice berg people didn’t suspect what tragedy was to come. A girl named Marguerite Frolicher, who was accompanying her father on a business trip, woke up with a jump since she was half asleep she was thinking about ‘little white lake ferries’ landing sloppily which made her laugh and thought to herself “Isn’t it funny…we’re landing!”. They really did...
I find the story of the RMS Titanic very intriguing. Most everybody knows when it happened or how it happened, but very few people get to know the stories of the people that were passengers on the ill-fated ship. I was very lucky with the resources that I got, because most of them had quotes from the survivors. When reading the quotes, I got chills. I could picture myself in that freezing water or seeing my best friend or brother for the last time. The sinking of the RMS Titanic was a very sad ending of what was supposed to be a fairy-tale, and we can only hope that nothing like this happens ever again.
Throughout that historic night, Captain Smith received several iceberg warnings from other ships and government officials (History). The captain got tired of hearing them and turned off the radio that received the messages. His plan was to make it to New York very quickly, and didn’t want to slow down for icebergs since he hadn’t come upon any bad weather throughout that day (History). After this travel, he planned to retire from the company and make this voyage the fastest and best one yet. Unfortunately, as it is known that was not the
As the water flooded into the first five compartments, the water would pass the water line. Once it passed the water line, the water would start to flood into the rest of the compartments like falling dominos. Since one-half of the ship kept flooding in with water, the water would slowly start to break the ship in half. Once one-half of the ship went under the other half that was floating above the water would snap and break off. Thus separating the Titanic into two pieces laying at the sea floor. The Titanic would ultimately sink on April 15, 1912. With the ship sinking, there are three factors on why the Titanic sank. The three factors are human error, corporate negligence, and design error. The three factors are equally responsible on why the ship sank.
Captain E. J. Smith had not slowed the ship's speed that night, although the ship's wireless operators had received several ice warnings. The ship was moving at more than 22 knots.
So when discussing unilineal groups and nonlineal groups, something that one has to keep in mind is what cultures each descends from. Unilineal groups consist of lineages, clans, phratries, and moieties. Lineages are a form of lineal descent from an ancestor, ancestry, or pedigree. An example of lineage are people who have the same relatives from 100 years ago. Clans are a close-knit and interrelated families, and an example of this can be found in families in the Scottish Highlands. Phratries are a kinship group constituting an intermediate division in the primitive’s structure of the Hellenic tribe or phyle. Moieties consists of one of two units into which a tribe or community is divided on the basis of unilineal descent.
Lack of sufficient lifeboats could not prevent other difficulties that took place on the ship. Two problems that happened was a smoldering fire broke out in one of the ships coal bunkers and the breakdown of the Titanic's wireless system (Discovery.com). Edward J. Smith was the captain of the Titanic. Some might question his ability to command a voyage after fining out how Smith disregarded many ice warnings.
