At the end of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, bodies cover the stage. Paris, Tybalt, Romeo, and Juliet all lie in the Capulet tomb having paid the ultimate price for the enmity between the two families. In the course of events, Mercutio and Lady Montague have died as well. Not only are the Montagues and Capulets struck with grief, but you, too, have lost a pair of kinsman. While reading Shakespeare's play “Romeo and Juliet” it is easy to see that everybody in the story is at fault for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Personally however, I believe that three of the main characters are more at fault then the other characters. First is Mercutio, Romeo’s best friend. Next is Benvolio, nephew of Lord Montague and Romeo’s other friend. Last is Friar Lawrence, Romeo and Juliet Franciscan Priest. In a story of unorthodox love, family feuding, and violence, many are at blame for the deaths.

At the end of Act V, Prince Escalus, announced, “Capulet, Montague, See what a scourge is laid upon your hate.” Later on he adds, “Some shall be pardon’d, and some punished.” Who shall be pardoned and who shall be punished, you may ask. Well the Prince first said, “All are punish’d” because Romeo and Juliet were both young. So that being said, their elders were responsible for their actions and deaths. Including Mercutio, Tybalt and Paris deaths as well. However, in addition to losing loved ones, others as in Friar Johnson and the Nurses have been very involved.

This establishes that Romeo’s character flaw is the main reason for his and Juliet’s death. Another example that supports Kerschen’s assertion is when Romeo decides to marry Juliet so suddenly. At the beginning of the play while talking to Benvolio, Romeo is depressed because his love with Rosaline fails. Then, he meets Juliet and is overpowered by his emotions.
In William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet two young lovers lost their lives when hate and love collided. From the Montagues came Romeo and from the Capulets was Juliet. The two families were feuding and Romeo and Juliet could not stand being without each other. They both killed themselves because they thought life was not worth living without the other. In the authors opinion this play is about fate and how it has caused the deaths of Romeo, Tybalt and Juliet.
Who is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet? In my opinion, there are three people to blame, Lady Capulet, Friar Lawernce, and The Nurse.
There are many ways one’s actions can lead to one’s death. Many people know the basic plot of Romeo and Juliet. They fall in love with each other but their families are rivals and they both end up killing themselves out of love. If one looks closer though at what really causes their deathś there are many factors that play a role in it and some even say other people indirectly caused their deaths. Although the friar’s letter not reaching Romeo is believed to have led to Romeo’s death, Romeo is to blame because he didn’t listen to the friar’s instructions, he drank the poison, and he killed Tybalt.
In conclusion, the three characters were responsible for Romeo’s and Juliet’s death because they were stubborn. But in my opinion Lord Capulet was the most responsible because he was keeping them apart when he found out that they were dating. So he made the decision to kill Romeo but he left the city so he could not be
