Wife of the Gods is a crime and mystery fiction written by Kwei Quartey. Kwei Quartey is a crime fiction writer and physician based in California. He is born in Ghana, West Africa to a Ghanaian father and African American mother. He first started writing at an early age and has dreamed of becoming a writer ever since. During his teenage years, however, he decided to become a doctor instead. At present, he was able to make a name for himself in both fields and is currently working as a physician and a writer. Even though Darko was still suspended, he truly committed to his promise- to be on his behavior throughout the investigation. He still went on with the investigation, but this time, he changed into a better person; he became more persistent yet more careful with his actions and he began to carefully weigh the consequences of his actions before making a move. In the novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, Janie Crawford the main character goes through some big changes. Throughout this book Janie struggles to find her inner voice and purpose of love. She looks high and low for a sign of what love really is and she finds it as being the pear tree. The pear tree is very symbolic and ultimately shows Janie what love is and how it should be in a healthy relationship. This tree, with the bees pollinating the blossoms, helps Janie realize that love should be very mutual and each person needs to provide for the other equally. Janie tries to find this special kind of love through her three husbands, but she comes to realize it is going to be much harder then she expected. Each one of Janie’s husbands are a stepping stone for her finding her voice.
In the novel Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston which is set in the 1930’s explores the life of an African American women from the south, that trying to find herself. The protagonist of this novel is Janie Crawford. In the novel, Janie is going on a journey to find who she really is and to find spiritual enlightenment. To help shape Janie character in this novel Hurston is influence by the philosophical view from the Romanticism, and Realism movement in addition she is influence by the social events that were happing in the Modernism period.
This research is about Michael Swango who was a serial killer and a doctor by profession and killed his patients and co-workers by giving them poison and arsenic. He was convicted for this crime several times and served some time in prison as well. Many nurses and co-workers launched complaints against him that he was poisoning them and the patients and was imprisoned for five years when he was found possessing arsenic. Later he forged documents to get jobs and also killed a lot of people during this time, after this he was first charged with defrauding the government and imprisoned for three and a
... to jail. He moved away, and the distance between us seemed to grow bigger and bigger” (280). The reader is left pondering the good character of Steve, the bad friends he spent time with, the doctoring of his testimony, and the information that Steve provided us hinting both at his guilt and at his innocence. We are comfortable with the fact that he has been let free, but has been warned. If he were involved in the crime, at least he may have learned his lesson through his time in prison and on trial. If he were not involved in the crime, at least he is free to start over and move on from the experience.
In the novel The Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Hurston the main character, Janie goes through many events that shows her growing up. Also these events show her becoming an educated woman who finds herself. From her first kiss to her three relationships the author makes this change in Janie visible. Throughout the novel these events show Janie maturing and becoming educated about herself and the world around her.

Janie does things that raise much controversy with the community and endures situations that would be deemed inhumane in today’s society. The patient was 72 years old Judge John W. Yengo Sr. who was suffering from an allergic reaction to a blood-thinning drug. He was then given a lethal overdose of medication by Charles Cullen. Charles Cullen admitted to killing eleven other patients during his job as a nurse at Barnabas Medical Center. He quit his job at Barnabas Medical Center and took a job at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, in February 1992, after authorities began to investigate tampering with bags of intravenous fluid in January 1992, many believe that Charles Cullen was responsible for this tampering which lead to more people becoming ill or dying. At this hospital Charles Cullen went on to kill three elderly women by giving them overdoses of digoxin, a heart medication. In March 1993, Charles Cullen pleaded guilty to trespassing and was placed on a year's probation. He was charged with trespassing after one of his co-workers filed a complaint against Cullen for calling her frequently, leaving lots of messages and following her at work and around town. In an interview Charles Cullen stated that he would have quit nursing if he didn’t have to pay child support when his wife divorced him in January 1993. Cullen left Warren Hospital in December 1993 and took a job at Hunter Medical Center in Rarity Township, New Jersey. Charles Cullen worked at the hospital’s intensive care and cardiac care unit for three years, during two of those years Cullen claims he did not kill anyone but there is no proof of this because the hospital records were destroyed before his arrest. He did however, admit to killing five people in the first nine months of 1996 by giving them lethal doses of
Janie represents all of the independent women of her time because she never gave up her happiness. The one moment that brought the whole story together and the one moment that really showed Janie as one strong woman, was the moment she let down her hair. After many years and multiple men burdening her of societal expectations she finally became a woman that she wanted to be. The moment quoted when she became herself was, “She went over to the dresser and looked hard at her skin and features. The young girl was gone, but a handsome woman had taken her place. She tore off the kerchief from her head and let down her plentiful hair. The weight, the length, the glory was there”(Hurston 86), was the climax of the story, and the beginning to Janie’s
