Who Is Abigail Weak In The Crucible

The Crucible Throughout reading the crucible I found myself being extremely biased towards what I thought about certain characters, especially Abigail. Having a rotten sister whose name is Abbey, whom of which is never up to any kind of good, made it quite easy for me to see that from the get go Abigail wouldn’t be any saint either. Most of Abigail’s antics resembled the same that I see of my sister at home, aside from the affairs with an older man of course, which I think helped me out a bunch with the story and realizing who was in the wrong and who was not. A lot of the time I felt as if I could see right through Abigail. Much like my sister she is independent and doesn’t give much of a care as to what anyone else thinks, as well as her strong suit being manipulation. Having someone like my sister to compare this character to made things much easier when it came to understanding the plot and her actions. It dawned on me into the first couple of pages of reading that Abigail was snotty and bratty who always had ways of making situations go her way. She seems to me to be a selfish young girl who spent most of her time worrying about Proctor as a lover and would do anything for him to believe the same, while being blinded that he could care less about her feelings towards him. Again this reminds me much of my sister, who once accused my 4-year-old brother of making a mess of all her clothes that she had, and she, like Abigail, knew very well that by placing this accusation on my brother she would get out of her duties of cleaning up just as Abigail did by (snitching) on Tituba to get out of her problems. The only difference being that my dad isn’t a downright stupid puritan and believes but 2% of things that leaves my sisters
