If there is something interesting – and indeed surprising - about Africa, it is a continent where smart fastidious individuals can capitalize on the gullibility of others and make millions within the twinkling of an eye. It is a place where even monkey’s red ass, sweetly coated with a little lie and persuasion, can be marketed as omnipotent product and sold for millions of dollars for simple minded individuals.
Little wonder, therefore, why recently, some avaricious Africans have marketed quail eggs and meat as wonder drugs against all kinds of sicknesses such as diabetes, Anemia, Aids, tuberculosis, chronic pneumonia, stomach ulcers, bronchial asthma, impotence to name just a few claims. Even though there are no scientific findings to back up the claims, many gullible individuals are spending much of their hard earned money buying the 'miracle product.' To crown it all, some people in Kenya strongly believe eating quail eggs could make their favourite English Premier League club like Manchester United, win a match. Excuse me! Ok, I guess you perhaps will start to understand why quail eggs must have become an essential commodity in the UK, Kenya and a host of other countries, where those club supporters are continuously munching quail eggs uncontrollably in the hope that their various league clubs will benefit from the quail egg miracle. You still don’t understand why soon quail eggs will take over from khat as the national past – time munching delicacy in Kenya? Logically, the club with the most supporters that eat much of the miracle quail eggs, wins more. Interestingly, looking at the miserable position Manchester United is occupying in the Premier League table, could it be that the club’s supporters have minimized eating t...

... wife left me after 50 years of marriage. Now she wan’ come back after she heard what I can do in the room. You wan’ try me? Me, I thank quail egg and the government that publicized it.” One 76 – year – old Nigerian, Julius Ochene boasted.
Of course, our reporter did not take up Pa. Ochene’s challenge, so it was difficult to ascertain his claims, but she knows one thing for sure: the placebo – effect is to medicine what quail egg is to crafty quail egg sellers. It is not strange to believe that a placebo works more on gullibility. As far as some people strongly believe in the quail egg as a natural healing and miracle product, many iniquitous elements out there are bound to enrich themselves immensely from the placebo – effects of that belief.
The above story is a parody. It is entirely fictitious; therefore none of the characters mentioned in the story are real

Prior to colonialism of Africa, it was far from being economically unstable and had a good standing economy compared to the rest of the world. African countries such as Mali were involved in international trade and their wealth depended profoundly on the trade in gold, but also on the collecting of taxes. The Europeans detected how successful the African gold trade was and wanted to use this success for their own self-interested gains. This was a paradox towards Europeans because they were seen as this powerful nation because they colonized Africa, but still depended greatly on Africa’s supply of gold. “Caravans of Gold” expresses how significant Africa was in many situations, including how they contributed to the Europeans success as a nation.

The placebo effect has been one of the most interesting but irritating topics within biomedical science for over the past 60 years. Through this speech I wish to inform and educate while I discuss the placebo effect and cover what it is, how it works and why that is.
It is thought-provoking, in the sense that Africa’s need for foreign created a race to the bottom, much like what Pietra Rivoli described in The Travels of a T-Shirt in the Global Economy. Due to some African states’ reliance on foreign aid in order to mine and profit on their resources, they allow business standards to be lowered and for Chinese firms to tip the contracts moresoever in the favor of Chinese firms. This lowers the potential earnings of African states by lowering royalty rates, for example. Additionally, Burgis’ research was thorough and transparent. When he did not receive a response or if his questions were dodged, he made it obvious to the readers. Sure, some could view this book as too anecdotal to be used as a credible source of Africa’s situation. However, this is due to the nature of the system Burgis is writing about; after all, they are shadow states for a reason. Some readers will be saddened by this text, others angry, most curious to learn more, but above all, everyone will be intellectually stimulated and
Every year, more and more money is donated to Africa to promote democracy in order to get rid of the powerful coups in many countries through out the continent. While the coups are declining and democratic governments are being established, the economic growth and development of Africa is not anywhere it should be considering the abundant natural resources and coastline that the continent possesses. Even though countries, like the United States of America, donate millions of dollars they are a large reason why Africa is underdeveloped economically. The Trans-Atlantic Slave trade is the most devastating event in the history of the world. Nearly 14,000,000 men, women, and children were displaced, sold into slavery, and killed by the trade routes.(
Point of view: Web. 14 February 2016. The article provides specific examples of illnesses and diseases which have been cured by animal testing that both humans and animals have benefitted from. This supports my topic of animal experiments being used for medical advancements. Pointing out that law often requires that products be tested before being sold to the public, George and Wagner additionally help prove my claim that product testing is a purpose of animal experimentation.
To help humanity better its health and to better understand the placebo effect. If over the counter medicine performs better than the placebo, then it won’t be allowed to enter the market. Scientist should follow the key points to achieve a positive effect of the placebo effect. There are many limits to the placebo effect but to better humanity’s understanding on the placebo effect there should be more research and studies on the placebo effect in accordance to modern medicine, it will be every beneficial for society in the long

As you can see, the actions and events in the story were very dramatic and probably a little fake.
Legitimacy and justifying placebo use in clinical trials. Employing placebo in clinical trials can improve the quality of the study results. Firstly, a placebo group employment enables to evaluate efficacy of blind, randomised subject control medical treatment avoiding assessment bias. Secondly, it can be reduce the number of patients to conduct since outcomes in different states, these are treatment group and placebo group can be compared which makes the difference clearer whether the results are beneficial or harmful. Thirdly, placebo can be used in addition to normal treatment of patients, where results will show genuine results as beneficial or harmful conditional change....
Africans should not blame Mr. Tony Blair, Prime Minister of Britain, The World Bank, George W. Bush, the president of the United States of America, any western developed country or the United Nations for attempting to redress through the Commission for Africa report, and decades of imbalances and injustices visited on Africans by both African rulers and their western collaborators. It is this callous and wicked conspiracy that has brought the beautiful and virgin continent on her knees, largely impoverishing its people and turned them into beggars, crying babies and laughing stocks of the global community.
There is no doubt that European colonialism has left a grave impact on Africa. Many of Africa’s current and recent issues can trace their roots back to the poor decisions made during the European colonial era. Some good has resulted however, like modern medicine, education, and infrastructure. Africa’s history and culture have also been transformed. It will take many years for the scars left by colonization to fade, but some things may never truly disappear. The fate of the continent may be unclear, but its past provides us with information on why the present is the way it is.
