In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher would always be by their side, helping them and guiding them along. If even the teachers do not care for them, they would not have anyone else to turn to and would eventually give up on themselves and their studies. Thus, teachers must have the patience to go on even after their students give up.
I also think that teachers should be very caring. They should be willing to go the extra mile, beyond their duties and are for their students. A teacher who cares for her students will also receive more respect from students. A teacher should not only care for the student’s studies but also for their interpersonal relationship with others as well as for their family. At the same time, he/she should also be true to their words so as to win the trust from students. This is so that if any student is having problems, they would be able to approach the teacher for help.

In conclusion, one can tell emotions affect everyone in both positive and negative ways. On order to be a good teacher, one must exude energy, patience, knowledge, and creativity at all times. Therefore, it is very important for a teacher to try to leave any negative emotions; he/she may be feeling at home. If a teacher displays negative emotions, it will not only affect his/her students, but it will also take away from one or all the qualities he/she should posses in order to be a good and affective teacher.
It was a fresh new start. I decided to abandon all my old habits adapt something new. I begin to participate in class. With out putting pressure on my self for hours trying to understand the concept on my own I spoke about it. I observed and I learned. I determined my self to enjoy what I was master at. They lectured, shared ideas and I learned. It became guidance for me to focus more on what I was learning. In the long run when the time had came for our finial grades; I witnessed a major improvement in my grades. I passed all the courses with excellent grades. I got my self out of probation. Now I am on good academic standing. Nothing compared to the moment when I saw the massive improvement in my education. It was more like a miracle to me. Exactly one year ago I was hopeless. I had no ambition. Horrible student and today I have over come all the obstacles. I conquered a better outcome. I made it. If it wasn’t for that art class, today I would have been a hopeless soul. This is why I believe it is essential to go for formal education. Sometimes it opens up many doors while exploring the journey of education. On day it will hit you. It just clicks. You realize what’s important and what isn’t. You realize how far you’ve come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that they’d never recover. I never had a teacher that I clicked with. Changing from school to school was hard and anytime I would get close to someone, I would end up changing schools. I never knew what it meant to have a teacher care about a student so much. That all changed when I moved to Delafield, Wisconsin in 2007. I started a new school in the fourth quarter and everything felt the same. All of a sudden, when seventh grade came around, I felt like a whole new person. This is the year that I met the teacher who became a part of my life. Mrs. Wroblewski has positively inspired me to follow my dreams and be who I want to be. Mrs. Wroblewski is an inspiration to me and a role model because she defended me when I was bullied, gave me great opportunities, a great listener, and is always there for me not matter what.

One of the most effective ways teachers are able to manage a classroom is through developing positive relationships with students (Emmer & Evertson, 2013). When students feel they are valued and cared for by their teacher, they are much more likely to comply with rules and procedures. A classroom teacher has the great responsibility and privilege to be around students for up to seven hours per day, five days per week for around nine months and during that time, teachers must work to develop positive teacher-student relationships with each student (Boynton & Boynton, 2005). When students are able to experience healthy relationships with their teachers, they grow personally and are self-motivated and achieve academic success (Tassione & Inlay, 2014). There are a number of ways to enrich these relationships and they are all initiated by the teacher. While there are many ways teachers will find to develop teacher-student relationships, only a select number of them will be discussed here.

What makes a good teacher? There are many factors that determined the answers to this question. The most dominant factor is the teaching philosophy. It plays a significant role in the teaching career because it determines what the teacher will teach and how he/she will teach. Personally, my teaching philosophy will be student-centered with the combination of three related theories, and emphasis on each student’s individual needs, and teaching multiculturalism and diversity.
First, I realized that, teachers carry a lot of weight on their shoulders and have great responsibilities. They have to balance the curriculum, students, parents, lesson plans, common core, and upper management and still maintain a professional demeanor. Second, educators must follow a strong code of ethics. They must be professional at all times with students and colleagues, keep confidentiality, not have or show any prejudice or bias, maintain safe and positive learning environments, help students with problems, and hand out disciplines accordingly. Lastly, I found that when you’re a teacher, your education never stops. Teachers are always trying to improve their own education and professional growth, both for the benefit of their students and for the benefit of themselves.
My ideal teacher self is one who fulfills the aforementioned qualities and in addition is understanding, effective and relatable. A teacher must be understanding in the sense that they must put themselves in the shoes of their students, when students misbehave, when they fail to do their work, for example, a teacher must evaluate and try to understand the reasons for these things. Once this happens, the problem can begin to be addressed and hopefully rectified. Understanding is about being patient, listening, and being thoughtful about our actions and decisions. Another quality, and perhaps one of the most fundamental elements to possess as a teacher, is a high level of effectiveness. As a teacher one of my highest priorities is to be effective, meaning that not only do I want to present information and provide structure in the classroom, but I want my students to learn and have the desire to continue to learn. When I was in Middle School we did a thing called “Study Buddies.” We would go to the classrooms everyday for the last few periods of the day and help kids read and do their homework.
