Many people have dreams. Not everyone gets to achieve their dreams. Those who do, though, have their ways of doing it. Joe Slowinski was a determined herpetologist that started at an early age. He and his family took a trip to Kyoko, Japan where he would spend all day looking for interesting creatures to bring home or creatures that just interested him in general. He was interested in the koi ponds in particular. He saw one, and his "go get 'em" attitude would stop at nothing until he did. (James 17) This same attitude toward his career and life goals made him the successful herpetologist that he ended up being later in his life. Devotion, perseverance, and being a role model in everything you do or want to do are all ways that you can achieve your dreams and make them a reality.
Devotion is a key in making your dreams come true. If you aren't fully devoted to your dream, then why would you spend so much time or work so hard to get it at all? Joe Slowinski's devotion came in a rather odd test. A friend of his told him that he had a bag of dead snake for Joe to come and collect. Joe jumped at the opportunity and ecstatically accepted the offer. When he arrived at the location to obtain the snakes, the guard would not let Joe in…because it was a nudist resort. The only way Joe would procure the snakes would be if he went outside of his comfort zone and take off all his clothes. He may have gotten a break and been able to put a towel around his waist, but when he found his friend amongst all the people completely in the nude, he, too sat playing the piano with no clothes. (James 83) This goes to show, in the odd way that it did, that Joe Slowinski would not let anything get in his way to fulfilling his dream as a successful h...

...ause of how different they were. As extreme as it may sound, it is a real possibility for people such as them to do something like that.
When it comes to achieving your dreams, many of us don't know where to start. There are so many things to be done and all you have is one lifetime. Cindy Pummill was a part of a program to make kids more successful in their paths to academic success. She said, "There's a difference between a dream and envisioning it -- which makes it more realistic." By this she means that you must envision your dream to make it more realistic. By being devoted to your dream and all the actions needed to get you closer to your goal, persevering through the tough times and when people tell you can't do it or they don't have faith in you, and being a role model for others in your own path to success, you can make your own dreams become a reality.
People have goals everyday, believe it or not some people think that dreams aren't worth it. I believe that it is worth it to dream because it gives a person a goal, it makes them feel good, and it makes them stronger. I know this from The Pearl, A Cubs video, the Susan Boyle video, and We Beat the streets.
Achieving Dreams and Leading Your Life Recently I read The Last Lecture, a book I would not normally read. In this book, I learned about the life of Randy Pausch, who unfortunately had Pancreatic cancer. In his book, Pausch stated, “ It’s not about how to achieve your dreams.
“If you can dream it, you can do it,” is a quote that Walt Disney was known for saying. I simple means you can accomplish and reach every one of our dreams if you have the determination to pursue them. This is the main concept behind the essay of “The Dreamer.” By Junot Diaz. The essay/article. Was first written and appeared in More Magazine for women in 2011 (Diaz 128). It is the short story of Junot Diaz’s mother was determination to go to school and get an education despite the punishment she endured and the sacrifice required.
Dreams are not just empty ideas, they give people ambition, and it is the pursuit of that ambition, which shapes a person. However, society instils an illusion about what can be achieved. Dreams can be tied to identity, but they can be good or bad. The Great Gatsby [F. Scott Fitzgerald] and Shattered Glass [Teresa Toten] share the similes in which both main characters dream of finding themselves and reach their end goals, through pressure and love. Both authors imply that dreams should be verified that they are possible before you start following them, otherwise they can ended up deadly.
Perseverance and self disciple can make any dream you want into reality. Take the movie “Blind Side” as an example. Michael Other was a yung man who was struggling in school. He wanted to so bad to be place on the football team but his grades was holding him back. The family who adopted him never gave up on him knowing that Michael passion was football. They saw potential in Michael and help him all through school. He know that he had to go big or either home, being that football was everything to him started really paying attention in school and was place on the team. Michael Jackson stated that “The greatest education in the world is watching the master at work.” He is correct physically but not mentally. The greatest education is not giving up on your dream for something less.
“It always seems impossible until it’s done”. This quote from Nelson Mandela comes to mind when describing why I aspire to become a Physician Assistant. It has always been a great motivation and inspired me not to get discouraged with failure; rather look forward for your goals. Frequently, it takes many trials and lack of success as well as achievements, for one to truthfully discover him/herself. I instinctively progressed through the motions of life. Many options were available and choosing a career as I grew up kept altering, until one day when I saw how helping other people is my sole purpose of life. Getting to know more of physician assistant drove me into the thoughts of pursuing it as a career.
Most people have some sort of goal that they would like to accomplish in life or a dream they want to come true. People who have these goals they want to achieve should have a plan to reach them. One of my major goals in life is to become an accountant. In order for me to achieve this dream of mine, I plan to go to college and learn all I can about being an accountant so I can become one and do my job as best I can.(Heyne). A sixteen year old peer, Kara Piper, who I interviewed has a different goal in life. Her American Dream is to have her own company and make enough money to travel the world. Her way of achieving this goal is by her family experiences in business and by the support of her family and friends. Therefore we all have hopes and dreams in life, but we all have our own idea of how to achieve them.
These goals have been in part influenced by my childhood and Hispanic Heritage. Had it not been for the vast efforts of my parents I may have never had the chance to receive a quality education or even vision post-secondary options. When I was two years old my father was in an accident, he had fell two stories at work. This accident left my dad in a coma for 17 days and in a vegetative state. I was little at ...
Plan some time to yourself and just start off thinking how happy you would be to live your dream life. Just by thinking a image will appear ok the screen of your mind and you can continue on with more and more details on what you really want amd how you really want to live. What will you be eating everyday, what activities will you take place in, or how much money you actually want to make a year? First start off with goals that are higher than where u are now, but have dreams that you know you are capable of reaching. After you have reach those goals have dreams bigger than you can every imagine so you won't be upset if you don't reach your goals, but i bet indeed you will be pretty close and farther than you ever thought you could be. In the story Bob suggest writing down this amount of money you would like to make a year and add it with the expenses you are looking forward to pay for. This could be things like bills, vacations, mortgage, and dinners. Once you have a number and list of expenses you can begin believing that you are already making this certain amount of money a year. “Therefore, the image you choose to hold, on the screen of your conscious mind, and plant deeply in the treasury of your subconscious mind is the patterned plan which will determine what you will eventually grow into. It dictates the vibration you will be in and also
People around the world all believe in something, but what keeps them from giving up on their dreams is the simple idea of hope: the concept that whatever one dreams about can become their reality. Even so, one must be persistent in their actions as things are not just handed out in life. One must work towards what they want, putting in their greatest effort until the end. Both hope and persistence are two key ingredients when one is striving for success, such that both put together can help bring anyone to their dreams. The American Dream of success can only be achieved by those who are willing to put in all the effort and sacrifice required to make it to their desired destination.
By using the S.M.A.R.T. goal system, you are able to make your dreams a reality, one small step at a time. The first step in reaching a long-term goal is to understand the S.M.A.R.T. the goal process. Simply using the words specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound can be a bit confusing. After a bit of research, I was able to better define the method. Using a S.M.A.R.T. Goal worksheet provided by Tatt (2012).
I have a dream… you have a dream… our nation has a dream… our world has a dream. We all have a dream.
So think about it, do you have a dream? It does not matter how big or how small. Whether it is as small as getting an A on the test in your next period or becoming a doctor it is still your dream. Your dream is obtainable. As Brian Littrell once said, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” Keep that sound track on the side of you so it will help you get through huge obstacles in life. So Remember chase your dream and give it all you got because I know I
It requires steady attention to our actions and determination for wanting to achieve something big. In order to achieve your goal in life, you need to deeply desire the goal that you want. Weak desires bring weak results. You need to have the strong desire to achieve the goal. You have to decide what you want. Start to think about what these goals means to you. Take time to think why you are setting the goal you have chosen. Make sure that you really want the goal you are setting to avoid
Dreams do come true. Everyone in their life has a dream or two or three. Finding the way to achieve your dreams, goals, and aspirations is an epic journey on its own. It takes discipline, determination, and self -exploration. This is the tale of the journey I am still currently on.
