Have you ever wondered what it would be like if school started later in the afternoon rather than first thing in the morning? School should start at least a few hours later then it normally does. Although not all parents and teachers agree, I believe school starting later in the afternoon would be of great benefit to students.
After being up late at night doing homework and studying what student wants to get up first thing in the morning and go to school? In my opinion, not many. With the lack of sleep after being up late, going to school and trying to focus and learn can become a very difficult task, which in the end ultimately makes students irritated and angry. Whereas, if school started later, students would be able to get more sleep at night and wake up feeling more refreshed and ready to learn. Better focus and being less tired can also lead to having better grades, which would then help students have more self confidence and a better attitude towards school. For these reasons, I truly believe starting school at a later time would be favorable to students.

We’ve all woken up tired not wanting to go to school, because we didn’t get enough sleep. Hopkins County Schools should change the school day to start later. This would have health benefits for students, student’s grades would improve, and there would be safer roads in the mornings for kids. My first point is that, with the 1st period starting at 8:00 a.m., kids are just too tired.
Don't you hate waking up early for school in the morning? Most high school students wake up before the sun rises just to become ready for school. Teenage brains do not begin to function that early considering many are tired from staying up late the previous night. The National Sleep Foundation reported that most teens do not retain enough shuteye, one study found that only 15% reported sleeping eight 1/2 hours on school nights. That fact was extremely true for me when I attended high school. I barely was able to wake up, get dressed, and be in school on time since I was so tired. In my opinion school days should start later, precisely in between 9- 10 o'clock. If the school day started later attendance would improve, students will be more prepared, and student's attitudes and grades may improve.
All school should definitely start later, be at 10 a.m. So everyone can catch up on sleep because teens are given so much homework that they don't get enough sleep. The schedule shown in source B shows that first bell rings at 8:16 a.m. And
