Nationalism is a person's extreme views on their nation and how they believe it is better than other nations. Nationalism can also be the self-determination and the interest of the country that are put first. Nationalism is very different from patriotism, it involves social conditioning and personal opinions, and nationalism involves national identity and a superior feeling towards one's own nation. Wars, especially the Napoleonic wars, showed that wars had a chance to bring people together because everyone was fighting for their beliefs and the ways they wanted to change their country for the better, so violence brought a sense of nationalism to France. During times of war, the soldiers live together, fight together, and live through one of the most traumatic times of their lives. They fought for what they believed in, for the good of their country and the pride of the nation through war. The War of the Third Coalition was a battle between the French and the Allies led into battle by Emperor/General Napoleon I and the country and nations making up the Third Coalition. The battle between France and the opposing countries that formed the Third Coalition brought the people of France together because nationalism is the extreme devotion to the country. If you look at anything from back then during Nazi Germany they are very nationalistic they have mass amounts of simples and everyone was there to fight and serve for their country that would have been eligible at the time. The soldiers were big, emotional people who were there to give everything for their country in battle. The soldiers were loyal and showed pride and respect for their country. During this time, this was one of the most violent times in history, but Germany’s nationalism was one of the highest at the time. Germany was respected and feared because of the image the news put out of them. Adolf Hitler believed in an extreme version of Nationalism, encouraging people to follow his lead and ideas. Germany had a strong sense of nationalism because they played a major role as the often dominant power, so they were known as the stronger power in Europe. The posters and stories that were told showed the power that the military guards had, they were respected and brought pride to their country and religion.
