What personal qualities does Lincoln and Lee share? They both share the patriotic mindset and both share solidarity. “ as an American Citizen I take great pride in my country, her prosperity and institutions. Lincoln made his choices from his head and Lee made choices from his heart. The best presidents that the United states has ever seen have to have been Abe Lincoln or George Washington. They were both loyal and cared about their country. George Washington founded the base for our beautiful country that we live in to this day. Abe Lincoln put a stop to slavery during his presidency before he was shot in the back of the head and murdered in the Ford Theater. They both put a lot of time and effort into building our country up. George Washington was an Army general and fought in many hard battles in the cold and across rivers and lakes. Both presidents were very out spoken. They both had many ideas of what was right and wrong and what needed to be changed or needed in the country. Lincoln wasn’t too out in the public about how he would get votes, but it has been said that he would but some of his votes Jackson on the other hand had a spoils system where he, only allowed people with his similar beliefs take position in the government.
At the beginning of the Civil War, leaders in the North and South were tasked with selecting the best men possible to lead their troops. Both sides needed to find men of outstanding character in order to succeed in their war efforts. Robert E. Lee showed himself as exactly such a man. President Abraham Lincoln agreed and sought out Lee, an accomplished U.S. military veteran with 32 years of service, to lead the Union troops. Lee is willing to make bold and risky moves, and does not let his defeats hinder his performance. The Civil War was not a little thing it was a huge thing that a lot of families suffered from. Lincoln has the view of I want everyone to get along and look at the bright side of this and Lee has the pessimistic view of this whole war. The two most discussed assassinations out of the four within the position of the United States President are that of Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. There are many similarities between the two and there are also some differences. There are many similarities associated with the assassination of Lincoln and Kennedy. They were both assassinated on the same day, and the men that were caught for the crime were born a century apart from each other and they were both killed before their trials. A difference between the two men is Lincoln was poor and worked his way to the top and Kennedy was born into a wealthy family in which his father was a large political figure. Both men had different struggles but they were similar in many ways.
When comparing two leaders, people tend to look at the characteristics, or leadership, traits that the person has. Even if the two people seem like an unlikely pair, it is the traits that prove the similarities. Abraham Lincoln is regarded by many Americans as the greatest president to ever hold office in the history of the United States, and his reputation is definitely well deserved. Lincoln wasn't scared to stand up and fight for what he knew was right. He was convinced that within the branches of government, the presidency alone was empowered not only to uphold the Constitution, but also to protect, and defend it. Lincoln was able to lead our country and preserve the Union, keeping the United States from splintering during the devastating times of the Civil War. As President, he built the Republican Party into a strong national organization, and he rallied most of the northern Democrats to the Union cause. On January 1, 1863, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that changed the war into a battle for freedom and declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy. That November, Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address, which stated how a country must be dedicated to human freedom in order to survive. He dedicated the battlefield to the soldiers who had perished, and called on the living to finish the task the dead soldiers had begun. (Donald, 1995) Lincoln believed that democracy could be a lasting form of government. He showed a nobility of character that had worldwide appeal, and he was a man of great integrity. However, Lincoln was not only the 16th president of the United States, he was an American hero. Lincoln was a well-rounded individual and he had numerous outstanding qualities. However, it is important to remember that Lincoln also led a private life, complete with close friends and family.
Mrs. Lincoln seemed to teeter on two opposite sides of the spectrum when it came down to how she was affecting her husband’s presidency in my opinion. On one end, she seemed to be who he leaned on and confided in, which one would inference would alleviate some stress from him. But on the other, she seemed to be a big stressor of his due to a mixture of her mental state after losing their son Willie and the stresses of being first lady, and just her natural character.
Julius Caesar and President Abraham Lincoln Lived very Similar Life. The similarities between Abraham Lincoln and Julius Caesar were very close and slim together.
