Gustavo Anaya Mrs. Kowalsky Period. 1 Senior Business Academy October 10, 2014 What makes the Nissan Z series so famous? Repairing cars may seem easy to a person’s eye but it’s not. One bolt can mess up the entire car and not work anymore. That’s when a mechanic comes and does his job. Repairing and restoring is hard to do and takes time. Old cars (1970s) are even harder to fix because it’s rare to find the parts. An example is the well-known 1970 Datsun 240z that change the world. It is hard and expensive to fix this car because it’s old. I’m going to prove that the Z series (Nissan) is the best-selling sport car of all time and has impacted all car production since the early 1970s. What makes the Nissan Z series so famous? As like the other two Z cars they displaced the engine because they changed the name. the 280z had a 2.8 L engine and it was a five speed manual transmission. As the other Z cars they were couple changes and the price of $8,000. This car was exclusive only in the United States. Nissan sold over 70,000 280z’s in 1977. Nissan finally replaced the SU carburetors and all 280z’s had field injection. So they did a huge improvement because the 240z had 150 hp and the 280z had 170 hp. It featured a five-speed overdrive transmission. In 1978 Nissan launched a limited edition 280z and it had everything a normal 280z had beside the color called “Black Pearl”. In 1979 Nissan announced the last 280z except it was called 280zx and was more refined and luxurious than the standard …show more content…
Some examples of these cars are Jaguar XKE, Ferrari Daytona, Porsche 911 RS 2.7, and Dino. For the upper class people is wasn’t a problem to buy these cars but what about the middle class. Were the middle class able to buy these cars? They couldn’t because these cars cost a fortune like the new Lamborghinis and the Ferraris. So middle class people would dream to get one of these cars but never in their life would they get one. But that’s when Nissan comes to the rescue and make the Datsun 240z. This car was very familiar to the Ferrari Daytona and the Jaguar XKE. So when middle class people heard about this car they started to buy it because of the best affordable sport cars of all time. This car was compared to the high top end sport cars and it still is. The people that would buy the Nissan Z cars series were smart because they basically bought a car that compared to Ferraris and other import
The similar, but less showy 1960 model of the El Camino was priced at $2366 for the six-cylinder model; another $107 got consumers a V8 with the two-barrel 283. The V8 two barrel carb is an 8 cylinder 2 port carburetor for higher performance. The 1960 El Camino had a Bel-Air look, with a bright-metal "jet" looks, and narrow trailing molding used to blend with the rear quarters. The rear quarters are the metal above the rear tires. The orders plummeted by a third, to just 14,163, at which point Chevrolet discontinued the model; meanwhile, Ford moved 21,027 Rancheros which were based on the new Falcon compact.... ...

The American public is not going to pay for something of standard quality and performance when they can get a better and less expensive car that out performs the higher priced one. "The bottom line clearly reveals that from this group of long time nemesis, the Camaro once again emerges as offering the most bang for the buck" (Bartlett 30 - 38).
design made the car very strong and durable that is one main reason you see many
Entering the 1950s, no corporation even came close to General Motors in its size, or it's profits. GM was twice as big as the second biggest company in the world, Standard Oil of New Jersey (father of today's Exxon Mobil), and had a vast diversity of businesses ranging from home appliances to providing insurance and building Buicks, Cadillacs, Chevys, GMCs, Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs and trains. It was so big that it made more than half the cars sold in the United States and the U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust division was threatening to break it up(to prevent Monopolies, Like how Standard oil was broken up). In the 21st century, it's almost hard to imagine how powerful GM was in the 50s and 60s. Sports cars from Europe were getting popular, because of servicemen coming back from WWII, and wanted sports cars, but American Automakers didn't make sports cars, so they would either buy foreign, or go without. A man named McLean would still try to make a low priced sports car. But it didn't work. The idea of a car coming from GM that could compete with Jaguar, MG or Triumph was pretty much considered stupid and insane. C1:Generation: Bad but valuable. Just 300 Corvettes were made in 1953. Each of these first-year Corvettes was a white roadster with red interior. The Corvette was made of fiberglass for light weight, but the first cars were made with a really weak, (and kind of pathetic for a “sports car”) 150 horsepower 6-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. The result was more of a look at me, I’m rich car than a race car. The first generation of the Corvette was introduced late in 1953. It was originally designed as a show car for GM's traveling car show, Motorama, the Corvette was a Show Car for the 1953 Motorama display...
The Camaro was to be offered with a wide variety of powerplants, ranging from a 230 cubic inch six cylinder to a 327 V8.
As a result Imported sports cars were selling well. Within a few years the post-war
The Mustang GT only only offered the 289- cubic inch or an 390- cubic inch V8 in 1967. The Camaro rolled out with 302, 327, 350, and 396 cubic inch V8’s (Camaro 14) The Camaro’s style was much smoother as well. The introduction of the Camaro threw pony car development into a frenzy. Before the Camaro, the Mustang and Barracuda were not quite considered full muscle cars. Most serious performance enthusiasts still opted for intermediate sized GTO’s or the Chevelle Super Sports (SS). The Camaro changed the image of those sport coupes. (Camaros, Eric Ethan)
Model T’s were everywhere in America, even long after Ford stopped production in 1927. (Henry) While Ford was the number one brand, selling the most cars throughout the early 1900’s, the Model T created a new industry that is distinctly American; the auto industry. Three manufacturers, Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler dominated the American auto industry, and all three companies still produce cars today. The Model T gave birth to the competitive auto market. To this day, car companies in America are constantly racing to innovate, improve, and outsell their competitors. Manufacturing of cars “became the backbone of a new consumer goods-oriented society. By the mid-1920s it ranked first in value of product, and in 1982 it provided one out of every six jobs in the United States.” (history –idk yet) The demand for cars also resulted in a booming petroleum industry, and a high demand for metals, like steel. ( History idk yet) Furthermore, with so many people driving cars, construction of roads was necessary. The popularity of automobiles set off a chain reaction that created new opportunities all across the country. All sections of the modern automotive industry, from marketing to manufacturing, as well industries like petroleum refining, steel production, and road construction, can trace their beginnings to the Ford Model
Porsche came out with the models of 914 and 944 because they take the consumers with lower income into account during the recession of 1970s. They redesign, reposition and reprice the vehicles so that it is allow the consumers to purchase the product for the purpose of social class, family needs or status. With this, Porsche still able to create loyal customers even if the economic situation did affected their business when they have considered their customers’ personal income, savings and interest
“She sat down with her back against the wide cottonwood tree, feeling the rough bark on her back bones; she faced east and listened to the wind and snow sing a high-pitched Yeibechei song. Out of the wind she felt warmer, and she could watch the wide fluffy snow fill in her tracks, steadily, until the direction she had come from was gone.” (225) From the beginning of Leslie Marmon Silkos’ essay “Lullaby”, you can tell the character has a connection with nature; it gives them a sense of a calming ease. The main character of this short story is Ayah, who has a strong connection with nature. The connection that Ayah has with nature helps her understand the environment around her; she’s able to detect whether something is right or wrong within
The trend in vehicles has moved towards larger sedans and SUV's, and the ones who are purchasing smaller vehicles are looking for cars more sporty than the models Saturn offers.

It started to regain back its high end quality and recognition. Most of the cars that were made were actually made as special edition vehicles. According to Mercedesbenz.com “The new company presents the first Daimler-Benz product range as early as October at the 1926 Berlin Motor Show.” (How it all Began 1926: Daimler-Benz AG. The line up consists of several different classes of vehicles consisting of high performance and reliability from three German brands. According to Stephen Zoeller’s Marketing blog, “All three German brands (Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz) provide a profitable method of gaining a younger audience without losing brand prestige.” (Marketing
