Entertainment has been an established part of the American culture almost since its founding. The types of entertainment that most Americans enjoy in today's world are going to the movies, going out to eat, and exercising. Different forms of exercise vary from running and playing sports to weight lifting. Those who enjoy weight lifting can choose to do so in the privacy of their home, in a community center like the YMCA, or in a health club. At a health club one can expect to find a wide variety of people; however, some of these people add to the downside of working out at a local health club because they can be annoying and obnoxious. Three types of these annoying, obnoxious people found at the weight room of a local health club are the show-off, the know-it-all, and the wanderer; these types can be identified by their physical appearance, their social behavior, and their attitude.
One should always stretch and work on flexibility, but as well as build a stronger core, legs, and back to have a greater outcome when performing deadlifts. Proper equipment is also a must to keep one safe. Shoes, clothes, proper lifting space, and weights. Bodybuilding is a sport that tests both the body and the mind. For thousands of years, people have used it. However, only for a little over a century has it been popular. Some of these are steroid abuse, competition categories and ranks, and money (Robson). Modern-day bodybuilders have incredibly large “stacks” (slang for the steroids they use on their cycle), more opportunities to compete than they did in the 40s and even more ways to market for money. It has long been thought that lifting weights at a very young age could stunt a child's growth, but more recent research has found that to be an inaccurate assumption. Dr. Na’ana Constantini was asked if lifting could stunt growth and his response was “ Lifting weights is not dangerous for teenagers if done correctly, with weights up to five kilos or so. It can do them good, by improving their motor ability” (qtd. in Siegel). I agree with this quote, but I feel that the weight mentioned is too broad. A weight of five kilos is only a little over eleven pounds, which would be appropriate for some teens, but the limit to lifting should not be set by age but rather by physical maturity. “ The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that kids avoid advanced use of weights such as in competitive sports of weightlifting, powerlifting and bodybuilding until their bodies
