Westward Expansion During the 19th century of the westward expansion, there were several events that happened. I will only tell you about three events, which I feel was positive on the move to the west. The Louisiana Purchase, Manifest Destiny and California Gold Rush, will be the three events. I will give you insist on why I feel those events were a positive thing for people to move to the west and start something new. Also moving to the west was the best for these settle to have a new place to live and to explore the new world. As the first half of the 19th century for the westward expansion, the Louisiana Purchase started in 1803 but President Thomas Jefferson couldn't get new territories to purchase land from the French. To buy new territory You can pass through it, but it might take you a while because you are moving to the west on wagons, horses or foot. The Manifest Destiny is when the American’s went out to the west. During the 19th century, the population would go up, which they knew this was going to happen. The population would go because they were forced to move to the west land. Now that American‘s or settlers was forced out of their homes and a place that they have been since kids or birth. They were leaving a place that they called home and moving to a strange and unfamiliar area. The Americans’ were upset, probably stubborn and down right mean but they listened. The settles and American figured since I’m moving lets make the best out it because in the long run it will make this country better. Even though I thought it could be the best moved that could have happen to the Americans, since they were going to be in a different area. Also they were going to make a lot of new states to live The world had new states that come across during the 19th century, as like for the Louisiana Purchase, Manifest Destiny and the California Gold Rush. As for the Manifest Destiny to happen, we have to make a doctrine to let people know when you cane move coast to coast. Also telling people when they could move to the west for a better life or better working jobs. For the California Gold Rush it was another way on making some money for the settlers that were already there and for the ones that were coming.
