You would think after years of going to the same event you would get bored of it. I remember a few years that I was. But this year was different, something about me was different. The day of the Quad City Air Show was a cloudless day, full sun, incredibly humid, and terribly hot. It was possibly the worst weather to be out all day in. But, none the less, I was incredibly excited. It was the last Quad City Air Show, possibly ever, and my Dad, Papa, and Uncle Marvin decided to take myself and my best friend Lauren of twelve years to it. This Air Show was special to me for more than just because it was the last one, just a few days before my best friend Victoria had left to join the Air Force. Her leaving was very hard on me, I didn’t really know what to do after she left and I don’t know if I know what to do now. Victoria and I didn’t know each other very long, but we became very close very quickly. Going to the Air Show with Lauren really made me feel less alone with Victoria gone. I never really got to hang out with Lauren very often anymore, her parents can be a bit strict and she spends as much of her free time as possible with her boyfriend. Her being able to go to something that was so special to me meant the world. …show more content…
We both got pictures next to a plane that was painted to look like a shark. When we were wandering around, we saw that there was an Air Force recruitment trailer, and the only way to describe it is incredible. First off, it was air conditioned, but there was also different games you could play and a virtual reality game where you could fly a plane and collect points. And even though I knew that all the games were strategy games and the only point was to see who would be good candidates to recruit, it was extremely fun, Lauren and myself must have spent at least an hour in there, if not

The two concerts that I chose to go see were Stanislaus State Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensembles & Combos Concert. These two concerts are both very similar yet different in their own ways. Each piece also has many attributes to contribute and it was fun being able to watch two very different genres.
I enjoy and listen to variety of music from classical music to rap music. I have attended many concerts, mostly symphony bands concerts. However, interestingly, through whole my life, I have never experienced jazz music and I have never been to jazz concert. Therefore, it was hard for me to decide which jazz concerts would give me most pleasure and exciting experience. I researched for jazz concerts listing and I have decided to go to the Ron Eschete Trio Concerts because it was held closed to my house and was free.
April 17th at 7 p.m., Pasadena City College held the Fourth Annual Drag Show in Harbeson Hall. About fifteen people from the campus dressed in drag and were ready to sashay up and down the catwalk. The performers did lip-synching performances and runway shows as with other drag shows. Finger food, music, and a roomful of excited people ensured a joyful event. However, I wondered if people were actually excited because of the same reason. While I peering slowly around the crowded hall, I noticed that people of various backgrounds were intermingling. There was no way people have different social and cultural identities and perceive the drag show in the same way, but ironically all of them looked delighted. Therefore, I figured that there was more than one way to interpret the meaning of the drag show and people were attracted to the event by those different reasons. The reason people thought the Annual Drag Show was entertaining was not only because the performance was interesting, but also because it provided an opportunity to explore new things that is distinct from their day’s work, ordinary life, or their personal values.
When going into high school the same friends you have in freshmen year aren’t the same in senior year. Strong Friendship is always hard to get, I knew who my real friends were after every year in high school ended. By the end of my senior year I had almost all the same friends except for three or four. But there was this one girl who stayed and she been my best friend since then we have had tough time and we have broken up but we always come back to each other. During the break ups I never treated anybody special like I did with her somehow I knew she was going to come back. The theme was always in my life and it showed me that not all my good friends are going to stay but when you have a best friend they’re always going to be
A switch from premium overnight services to lower – margin deferred services and ground delivery services is an advantage to Airborne Express. With existing assets including trucks, tracking systems, regional hubs and sorting facilities, they only need minor initial investments to develop fully these kinds of services. They should use these assets wisely and effectively.
Jazz is a music genre that is very rich in culture which is why I decided to attend a Jazz concert. This was my first Jazz event I had ever been to. I went to see the band The Chairman and the Board. This was a blues swing band. Having been to other concerts, I was expecting something similar as far as atmosphere and crowd. I was proved very wrong as this concert defied all my expectations and was in a whole different field as far as life entertainment goes. The first thing I noticed right off the bat was the audience. The age range of this audience was mainly 40-70. I definitely felt like the odd man out when I was there. It did get me thinking though, why was this audience so much older? I looked into the era of when most of those people
I was fortunate to be able to attend the Spring Jazz Gala at the High School. Before entering the auditorium or even the school, I had high expectations that this would be like one of the concerts I used to perform in when I was in High School. We called it “Night at the Pops”. One of the highlights of our concert was the informal attire. We got to wear jeans and a different colored t shirt each year. The fun thing about the t-shirt is many people in band and choir designed a new design each year for the shirt. It was then voted on by all of us and whoever won had it plastered on the front of ALL the shirts! So, when I think about my assumptions and what I observed during this Spring Jazz Gala, they were definitely different. During this performance, I sat in the auditorium not a gym like what I had envisioned. The lights were dim like you were going to watch a play and the attire of the students were very sophisticated. You would find the gents wearing black suits with bow ties and the dames with elegant black dresses. Even though this wasn’t what I expected for this performance, I wasn’t too shocked because when I performed in high school, our attire was similar for all of our other concerts. We all wore black pants, white shirts, and
During the past few days, many of our friends and family have come to our home to show their love for us and for Arlyn. I have been especially moved by the fact so many of her teachers and principals have shown up and cried with us. I am also touched by the love her young friends had for her. Our memories of this sad time in our lives will therefore not all be bad.
What do you normally think when you hear Comic-con? Nerds with huge pimples, glasses that have been repaired one to many times, and the stained crusty shirt from the Cheetos that he had 2 days ago. All of them just sitting down and talking about the latest comic books that had just come out and others might be playing lasted edition of Dungeons and Dragons right. Well maybe that was the case about 10 years ago but that has all changed. This event has blown up so much that they have multiple events throughout the year, and are not just limited to just a small basement, the have multiple buildings just to make sure that they have room for all the people that will be attending. From about 400 people to 75,000. Everyone wants to see what’s there and what makes it so fun.
From nearly a mile away, you can hear the rides whirring and the children laughing. In just a few days, Franklin Avenue has been transformed into the second largest street festival in the country as the 92nd annual Fall Festival kicks into gear in Evansville, Indiana.
My internal organs thumped against my chest as I dragged my bag along the carpet floor and into the corridor. As I walked into the long hall, I glanced up and noticed the sign telling me I could get on. My entire body could barely hold itself together with the anticipation of the monumental, dream-come-true event about to take place. I said to myself, "I'll soon be in the air." I slowed my pace to further enjoy what was happening. Swarms of people walked around me as I treasured knowing that one of my lifetime goals was now inevitably going to occur. The excitement and adrenaline running through my veins could have killed a horse.
In November the 7th 2017, I had another privilege of attending a jazz performance at The School of Jazz, New York. The concert was organized primarily by graduate students who majored in music, and as a result of this, the concert had a number of blossoming musicians who provided the audience with an assortment of different music combos. Unlike in the orchestra, the performers and audience at the jazz concert where dressed casually and there was no particular dress code.

I can still remember how excited I was before take off, I mean it felt like forever while we sat in the plane waiting to take off. Just all the anticipation that was inside of me had just made the wait even longer for me. Finally, I heard the pilot say 'prepare for take off'. When I heard those words I was so overjoyed I could hardly contain myself. That rush I got once the plane took off was an experience like no other. The plane ride was about hours long and I enjoyed every minute of it. Little did I know, that was less than half of the fun I was going to have at Orlando.
