I believe in smiling. Smiling is a powerful thing. Smiling comes with many positives such as cheering yourself or someone else up, showing approachability and friendliness, and that it also leads to laughter. Whenever you get the chance to smile, do it. Don’t hold back from smiling and be shy to smile, just do it and show the world your smile; you’ll be a lot happier for doing so.
When you’re feeling down or someone else around is feeling down, the best way to be cheered up is to smile. If you’re able to smile when you’re sad, you will automatically feel so much better. Same if you see someone in need of a good smile, just go up to them and tell them a joke or compliment them, that always makes people smile. Or simply just smiling at them in general can make them smile, they will be happy that you acknowledged their presence. I

Which ends up being a terrible feeling and you don’t know what to do, until you see someone that also looks just as lost as you, so you give them a shy smile and they return your smile! Then you begin to feel better, like okay this isn’t as bad as I thought, maybe by the end I will know someone and not feel so awkward. Finally, you approach this person and you guys strike up a conversation and now you feel more relaxed and comfortable, and it all started with a smile. Smiling can literally change your life, it will open doors to new relationships and opportunities that you never even imagined. Which this example just happened to me today in AP physics. I know no one in the class, and this other girl didn’t either, and what do you think happened? It started with a smile and then next thing we are lab partners and talking about how we both have knee issues and we can actually relate to each other in physics class. So if you want to show approachability and friendliness just smile at
There isn’t any evidence that pinpoints exactly where this saying came from but it was first noticed around the 1940’s. 1943 is the earliest reference from “The Big Herald:” “Now here’s something worth knowing. It’s a formula for smiling when you have your picture taken. It comes from former Ambassador Joseph E. Davies and is guaranteed to make you look pleasant no matter what you’re thinking.
“Hey, thanks for telling me,” with a soft voice and light smile. Does it sound familiar to you? Perhaps the response seems good and polite on the surface, but people might be very frustrating deep inside. Truly, the burden of societal expectation forbids people to share their true feeling and opinion, therefore a genuine interaction among people becomes very rare. Although the U.S. government encourages gender equality, but the society remains the same; in reality, society has a higher expectation on women over men. In the article “Why Women Smile”, Cunningham evaluates on how societal expectation and personal goal evolves women’s daily behavior; particularly she focuses on the women’s smile. It’s for the better, women weaponize their smile
Let’s take a look at how we interact and form relationships. Happy people like being around other happy people. It’s safe to say it is natural to surround ourselves with the kind of people we want to be. Conversly, it is natural for us to retreat and isolate when our health is failing physically or emotionally. One’s social skills are telling of how healthy they are all around. Ideally a person has a nice balance of social time and personal time. We have a good idea who we are and are comfortable being ourselves in all situations. Get involved in your community and give back. Paying it forward is the best medicine next to laughter. Practice the golden rule and treat others as you want to be treated. Respect goes a long way. Know what you are okay with and set boundaries with people so you can develop healthy relationships. These relationships are built on trust, communication, and solving problems together. Maintain these relationships and keep your social support network close and you will live a happy life. Be sure to surround yourself with people who bring you up and encourage you to grow and be a better
When a person is happy they may give you a compliment or smile in your direction. The novel Lord of Flies is good at showing that. Especially because the author used kids as the characters. Ralph one of the older boys becomes chief as what everybody decides. Jack gets jealous of Ralph's powers, and
Optimism is highly contagious, and people like to be around others who are positive. Therefore, putting a smile on your face is a large part of learning how to attract guys. Even if you’re sick, have a grin. Even if times are tough for you, avoid
My observation took place at a table beside Starbucks and on the inside of the Cook Library at USM. I sat down and began to people watch, trying to find students doing everyday “student-like” activities. By “student-like”, I mean studying, looking for a book, typing papers, browsing the web, interacting with others, etc. As I started watching, I realized most people seemed to have happy expressions, in fact, my study showed that about fifty percent of the people being observed showed happy expres...
Imagine truly being happy not just occasionally, but all the time. You shouldn’t spend all of your life being a lousy depressed slug. Being happy leads to greater things. The happier you are the more you can accomplish. It makes life easier, yes life still happens and has its bumps in the road, but you learn to deal with them on a happier note. Now I’m going to take some time to introduce me and then we are going to look at a few simple ways to build a happier you.
Feeling down and depressed? Laugh all those troubles away. Laughter is a simple yet substantial way of putting that little spring back in the step. When people say “Laughter is the best medicine,” what are they referring to? Laughing acts as calorie burner, prevents heart disease or other illnesses, can increase learning abilities and focus, or even bring a more optimistic outlook on life.
People show there happiness in many ways, some people smile and there face just glows in pleasure and enjoyment, while others just don?t show there happy emotions physically they keep that feeling inside themselves. Even dogs have a way of showing there happiness, they show it by shaking there tail. One of the main reasons there are so many unhappy people in our society is because many have never taken the time to discover what it is that makes them happy. Chances are if you were to ask someone else what would make them happy you'd get a list of the same thing I mentioned above. The truth is, most people have a difficult time stating exactly what would make them happy for the simple reason they've never really thought about it.
Shy People Guide to Developing Friendships Making friends is easy – really. But for people, particularly shy ones, they may find it a bit difficult to find and make friends. And if you’re one of them, you might be feeling like you don’t fit in no matter how much you try. Laughing is powerful and if someone laughs with people they love, I believe this can solve any hardship they are going through. A laugh can mean a number of different things and can be thought of as a universal language, it can mean joy, happiness, nervousness, or confusion. Everyone can do it, everyone can use it and everyone can understand it, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or religion. It's something that doesn't separate us from others, instead it brings us together. A laugh is something that can change someone’s entire day around. Whether someone is feeling down or upset about something, we all know that, regardless of what the circumstances are, if we see something that makes us laugh we start to feel better. Aside from making us feel good or better emotionally, laughter has been scientifically proven to help keep us healthy. Laughter has the capability to strengthen the immune system, lower blood sugar, enhance blood flow and circulation, as well as reduce stress, burdens and conflicts. This weird yet wonderful sound is an essential part of life. Laughter brings individuality and fun to an otherwise ordinary
There are people who want to help you keep your chin up. There are people that want to make you smile so big. They feed you positive comments. They will always make sure you feel confident and beautiful inside and out. When there are positive people trying to make your world bright, what do you do? Many of the people that are not given positive comments often tend to not believe what the positive people are
How could I promote happiness? Of course by beginning with myself. The saying, “10 percent is what happens to us and 90 percent is how we react with it” is one of my favorite. I may not be able to control what will happen to me, but surely, I always have the power over my emotions. In every circumstance, whether it may be good or bad, I must always keep those smiles plastered in my face. I must be thankful to God in whatever things happen for I know He’s always in control of everything.
From my point of view, being in a good mood anytime and anywhere is the first thing for those who want to be happy. There is an old saying going like this" happy is he who is content" l can't agree with it any more. I still remember a story my mother told me when I was a child. A millionaire tried every means to seek after pleasure but to feel unhappy, it's not unique, but has its counterpart that poor man to whose name not having a thing always feel happy. Why are they so different? The answer is that the rich is being thinking how he can gain more while the poor is satisfied with what he owns at hand- health, freedom, love and so
I believe that happiness is the key to living a good and prosperous life. Through all of the sadness and hate in the world, happiness gives me hope. It gives not only me, but others hope and joy. Happiness gives us something to hold onto, therefore we cherish it as much as we can.
